A real masterpiece...I am a Radiohead fan since 30 years or so... Yorke still amaze me! What a voice! He's like that little Energizer Bunny...he just keeps going and going ! And that Greenwood guy... what a genius !
I've also been a huge Radiohead fan since the beginning. It's crazy that's been that long. The years have flown by. Thom definitely hasn't lost anything throughout those years either.
Thom's voice is absolutely piercingly uptopia to an ear. And then there's that whole he is also an incredible musician. And Johnny is another freak of goodness. Absolutely fucking amazing. Can't believe i didnt know this band existed 3 months ago. Guess i was too busy listening to in rainbows. Haha. Always blown away by anything Thom.
I listened to this album whilst falling in love and breaking up with an amazing but cruel young lady. This Smile helped me in and out ..wonderful music
My eyes are open wide And now I see you Without your robes on Without your crown I don't want to hate you I don't want to beg A kind of fascination Gets in my way A door that opens wide My, how you've altered Oh, Heaven, help me Is that the time? Beginning without end Never lost, never dies Unending, a beam of light A tunnel in my mind As it all pans wide With a filter on the lens She sees everything I do She sees everything I do I'm without my shoes on Over broken glass I am dancing for pennies I am staring straight ahead A view that is so wide It's gonna break It's like it holds me in its gaze If I go, it's because It's happened once before And now it's starting all again As it all pans wide Forget everything you knew Forget everything you knew As it all pans wide, ah Like a newborn child Like a newborn child Like a newborn child A child A child Like a child A child
First heard on the season/series finale of Peaky Blinders. Thought it was Radiohead and has the bonechilling quality of top RH songs and am surprised this was achieved. Glad to have found this gem.
Dear Terrence, you are the bar with which I will measure what a truly wonderful and honest friendship feels like. Thank you. I hope that your life is amazing and filled with newness and joy and love and the comfort and freedom to be the beautiful weirdo that you are in all the best ways. I miss you throughout the multiverse. ❤ & 📸WW. To the whiskey we'll never share.
Unfortunately his prime has already passed, in my opinion his voice has deteriorated a lot, that's why I don't listen to The Smile live shows very much.
You're not wrong, the studio version sounded like his voice was a tad autotuned... Can't blame him, he's been singing for a while and tends to like high notes...
Guys, he has always had mixed performances throughout his career. Look at any old live performances and you’ll find one. It’s not an age thing at all. You get what you get when seeing him perform, just appreciate it for what it is. Everyone is so critical these days aren’t they??….

Work on your English

High 5 there!

My most played song of 2023

Yes..basically everything about this song went shivers up my spine
The Smile my new favorite jazz band
The Smile kicks ass man, holy fuck

Just found this via peaky blinders ... Thom Yorke very much alive and producing a masterpiece.
Thank God for this amazingly creative man. Especially these days with so much formulaic stuff around.
I daresay this is the best new music I've heard from Thom and Johnny since the 90s.
so you skipped In Rainbows then
Amnesiac is pretty good tho
The Smile is putting out great stuff but I wouldn't put it above In Rainbows or AMSP.
@@OpiumPoppii They pretty much skipped the best RH album, that's crazy.
You’ve not been paying attention then
My favorite. Hearing it live was life changing, out of body experience.

Stay strong!!
I always thought of it as a political album, but I think a lot of it does apply to toxic relationships as well now that you mention it
Trauma-mama
Lol get over it
@@copbabycombo1311 One day you will understand being a piece of shit is why you are lonely.
My eyes are open wide
And now I see you
Without your robes on
Without your crown
I don't want to hate you
I don't want to beg
A kind of fascination
Gets in my way
A door that opens wide
My, how you've altered
Oh, Heaven, help me
Is that the time?
Beginning without end
Never lost, never dies
Unending, a beam of light
A tunnel in my mind
As it all pans wide
With a filter on the lens
She sees everything I do
She sees everything I do
I'm without my shoes on
Over broken glass
I am dancing for pennies
I am staring straight ahead
A view that is so wide
It's gonna break
It's like it holds me in its gaze
If I go, it's because
It's happened once before
And now it's starting all again
As it all pans wide
Forget everything you knew
Forget everything you knew
As it all pans wide, ah
Like a newborn child
Like a newborn child
Like a newborn child
A child
A child
Like a child
A child
This one and Skrtng… Amazing.
The Man’s beauty knows no bounds..❤

1:56 Cheese is everything you do ?
One of the only songs on the album that renders itself nicely in a live setting.
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
What's happening to Tom's voice? It sounds he's struggling to sing. Am I the only one that thinks that?
He’s 54 and has been singing for most of his life, he’s just getting older which makes it harder to hit high notes
Unfortunately his prime has already passed, in my opinion his voice has deteriorated a lot, that's why I don't listen to The Smile live shows very much.
