My uncle recently passed away he was my mentor and best friend almost like my second father and Thom Yorke was one of his biggest inspirations, during the last stage of his life we would listen to Radiohead and some of Thom Yorke's classics, ever since he was a teenager he would listen to Thom. To me this song (free in the knowledge) was the closing stage of his life, listening to it reminds me of all the things he taught me and those great times, going through Lyme disease and depression was not easy and all I have is the memories of the music we would listen through the years. Thank you for all this extra years you gave me man I know music made it easier...
Every time I hear Free In The Knowledge it makes me want to cry. It's one of those songs too heartbreakingly beautiful for this world. But it always gives me a sense of hope too. And the lead in to.. And a Hairdryer just amazing. Much ❤️
I love free in the knowledge, coulda been a great Radiohead classic. These men have chosen wizardry over having real lives. It rare to have people who are willing to become monks like this and are skilled enough to want to jot down the cosmic vibes they find.
Just Johnny Greenwood and Thom Yorke alone are more talented than almost any other talented bands entire members put together. To call them Genius is an understatement especially with Nigel Godrich (The 5th Beatle) as producer ... Radiohead the GOAT not even close 👏🎉🔥🍾
@@RyanRenteria "it's actually" like you have any idea. god people like you are so annoying. just because you among many others found a single similarity does in no way mean that you've found the right one.

the way thom and jonny are both so talented. i absolutely love this performance. the way thom's voice sounds singing free in the knowledge is absolutely beautiful. they're both amazing
Those beautiful transitions remind me so much to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, another great and beautiful band (which i knew from the film 28 Days Later). Totally recommend it. Maybe they're ready to join forces.
It's hard but with enough practice (a realistic amount, too) you could definitely play it. And hey, even if not, it's still an insanely fun instrument to learn once things start clicking!
This song for me stuck in my head for a while.. Then kind of forgotten. Only to come back into my mindset again even stronger and deeper. Just a bad moment were the lyrics that drew me beck in.. Long dormant but suddenly resurrected. The power of good music ❤
There should be an album or at least an EP of these guys just jamming like in between the two songs here, its such a cool, interesting sound. Swapping instruments and stuff

Thom and Jonny always build a vibe singular together and Tom Skinner adds so much virtuosity and backbone, they are killing it
When he says " just a bad moment" 🥲
Outstanding musicians and artists of our time. Always unique, always one of a kind. Admiration has no bounds!❤
and my day was good from this moment on
Yes indeed
My two absolute favorite songs on an album of near perfection.
What a fantastic live medley. Thanks guys.
I'm dancing for pennies over here!
This performance has crossed over into brilliance. I am thankful.

❤ I was there, and this moment still in my memory! Thanks for everything
the part between the songs should have been released as its own on the live album

greenwood is definetly a monk you can read it in his face, when he shows it!
What a gorgeous way of putting it!

@@sarthakkgangwani762 Except Tom is a much better drummer!
Absolutamente
That middle part is so Godspeed You! Black Emperor! I love it!
I was thinking Sigur Ros because I know how much they have respect for each other but yes you're right ! This is actually a good mix of the best !
its actually more related to 60s free/spiritual jazz like alice coltrane
Hey thanks for the lead
...I love these comments

And this was just a bad moment
We were fumbling around
But we won't get caught like that
With soldiers on our backs
We won't get caught like that
A face using fear
To try to keep control
When we get together
Well, then who knows
If this is just a bad moment
And we are fumbling around
But we won't get caught like that
With soldiers on our backs
We won't get caught like that
I talk to the face in the mirror
But he can't get through
I said, "It's time that you deliver
We see through you"
I talk to the face in the mirror
But he can't get through
Turns out we're in this together
Both me and you

Shame on you
Blue eyed fox
Shame on you
Blowing hum
Making holes
Shame on you
Flying South (Sitting on his hands)
For the Sun
In a while (Sitting on his hands)
Crocodile
Shame on you (Blurring his whereabouts)
Blue eyed fox
A slipping shroud (Blaming everyone else)
Way up loud
Blowing hum (A hairdryer)
Making Holes
Truly seen (Blaming everybody else)
Truly you
Flying South (A slipping shroud)
For the Sun
In a while (Way up loud)

And pick me apart
Open my eyes
Open my eyes
And tear me apart

a hairdryer is the best song, both studio and live versions.
Good that the whole performance did not disappear in a ‘puff of smoke’…
So incredible the musicianship between Thom and Johnny is utterly astounding, this is what music is all about….
YESSS. Seeing this next week in LA!!
the way thom and jonny are both so talented. i absolutely love this performance. the way thom's voice sounds singing free in the knowledge is absolutely beautiful. they're both amazing
I love the beautiful music that you play
te amo The Smile, te amo Thom Yorke
It’s cool that both of Jonny and Thom can play bass and Guitar and they switch off who plays what.

Unique drums on hairdryer. Makes me want to start learning but i imagine it’s not as simple as it looks.
Just start, mate. Life is too short to keep things undone. Just start.

yes, that song has a very difficult drum part
Seen them in 'Dam in march 24, so so good. Such elite synergy.
Love the camera work. We get to see so much more. Great sound. 🌟 Except for the ads in the middle.😐

If I understand correctly, Thom records his own backing vocals for the song in the transition section before? :O
🇧🇷
Look at them. All of them ok
Just excellent
Turnons include dynamic, enthusiastic dial turning
For real. Passion + intensity. Also applies to other instruments of course but also with this gesture 😆

Free in the knowledge reminds me of man in the mirror by Micheel Jackson
Does anyone have any other archive link for something for the full show?
Jonny and Thom have it.
6' = Radiohead and Sigur Ros had a baby 😍
does anybody knows what happened with the full concert? It seems like it was removed or something
It was only posted for 48 hours. They said it would be taken down apparently
