My best friend gave me a jacket that he bought almost 10 years ago, the jacket was too small for him so he never used it. He bought it for just one buck at a local flea market. Turns out that it's a Carhartt jacket made in 1999. I was honest with him and said that he could get good money by just selling the jacket but he said that the jacket really suits me and it was just waiting for me in his closet.
Thanks for bringing back these type of videos....nothing against the heat checks but these feel more instructional and helpful and the main reason how I found this channel. THANKS!
Absolutely! It’s always been my intention to make them more regular, but as I’m trying to make better products I realize how much research is required to make sure I’m giving accurate information. They may be less frequent but hopefully the quality makes up for that.
@LootFam This video was refreshing and full of great info...I immediately went and checked dates on Carhartt jackets....hahaha....Thanks and keep up the killer work!
I recently bought a previously unused(NWT) super-lighweight zipped sweatshirt (K01 BRN 831) on eBay with the Carhartt collar tag labelled "rugged outdoor wear carhartt" production date 0997, Crafted with Pride in USA and YKK zipper. It is not very rugged and the polyurethane inner liner virtually shredded when I placed the garment in the washer under delicate cold water setting. Maybe the 1997 production year in the USA was the end of the quality era and they decided to nearshore to Mexico/Central America and use better quality materials again?! After picking all the tattered interlining chunks off, I'll use it in the summer time and try to not let it snag on anything as i think it will tear quite easily.
I have a tan mesh hat with a care tag that only has wash instructions. The other tag is an american flag that says made in the usa . The snapback has made usa embossed in it as well.
I sent it back very good quality replica but signs like holes in adjustment straps rivets the blanket lining on inside of arms and same lining on all outside and inside pockets not worth the $200.00 they charged got my money back .
With regard to use of the word "VINTAGE", two things chap my bacon. 1.Sellers who use it in descriptions because THEY think it means "old" and they also think that YOU think that it means "old" and they aren't even selling something that IS "old". 2.

Thanks for watching!
just bought a "vintage" carhartt jacked with the tag missing. Got home and found the tag in the pocket, 0518 SMH.
Very common. Good news is they still similar quality
Any idea where to find the jacket style name on a Carhartt care tag? Thanks!
Typically it’s a 5 digit code toward the bottom left of the tag
Great video !!!! Been trying to see if my carhartt jeans were vintage or not. Is there any way to find the age of LL Bean clothing using the care tag?
Not that I’m aware of, but Ll bean is on my list for the future. We’ll see what we can discover
I bought one on eBay with zipper closure on left side instead of normal right side?
Might be a womens size? Not sure.
I sent it back very good quality replica but signs like holes in adjustment straps rivets the blanket lining on inside of arms and same lining on all outside and inside pockets not worth the $200.00 they charged got my money back .
I have a pant with the carhartt and love logo
I have carharrt carpenter pants b111 moss green 1004, is it vintage sir?
Why does my jacket not have a tag showing size and year made?! I'm frustrated
Likely was removed or is located on a another part of the jacket.
Damn good info! Thanks!
Thank You, this was extremely helpful

Hey!
👍👍👍👍👍😎
Sit on your hands
Earn the vintage look don’t buy it
it’s about the material/workmaship. clearly you’re more concerned with looks
