Well played Mr 'Hollywood'. Brilliant little chat ... thank you for taking the time to explain what is occuring. A credit to his company ... keep up the good work.
Hollywood must charge an hourly rate. He was in no rush to get back to work. I noticed his 2 associates in background also required a stand around break as they couldn't function without the third
@@matthewv4170 sure but they are paid to work not chat , especially the person asking is not really interested in what he’s doing , trying to get into a argument then launch his drone to wind people up, police come out that could be dealing with something more serious elsewhere. Honestly, i think it would be better if there was an honest section on what the organisation does and what it wants, literally a free advert DJ edits, rather than them getting riled up. I know it gets you in the zone but that's what certain martial arts videos are for, its not what I love DJ for! It's not as fun when its innocent people in the community who just don't know the rules. Security guards are fair game as are police because they both signed up to that and should be able to deal with it as part of their job, it highlights who is not doing their job well in that case. That said, boatman was a little assy and then accused you of being assy basically in the same sentence lol.
What the guy in the van did infuriates me. I hate when people can't just answer a question without assuming you are asking because you are going to do something they wont like you doing. I want to say to them, "just answer the effing question" but then that will be seen as being more in the wrong as them assuming I'm up to no good. The other guy was great though, the kind of person who makes me think I've made the wrong career choice. As I live by the coast now I see work being done on harbour walls often but I thought it's 'easier' because they do the work when the tide goes out most of the time, but now I know that the bits they work on that are always submerged have to be maintained a bit like this.
He’s a water Baliff. Some can be very aggressive. They have an inflated opinion of their powers. It’s from the days of the Gamekeepers in the Estates 80 years ago. Mrs and I regularly walk around a fishery along public footpaths near home. One always tries to get us off the footpaths and gets extremely aggressive if challenged. Taken to walking my GS dog with me. He now leaves me alone.
I got fined 90 quid when I was a kid, as a bailiff on the river Ouse found out I was using maggots off season. ( I didn't have a clue I was breaking the law and I had a licence). He wasn't very happy and made me feel like I had committed a murder. After he left (I imagine he was very proud of himself), the 6 of my dad's mates and a few of their lads, who not one of them had a licence were like " phew we dodged a bullet there" and carried on. It put me off course fishing and about 35 year later I only sea fish! 😂
very professional DJ, i appreciate your videos man and even the people who hate you will have to one day admit they love em to bro !! keep up the good work arr kid !!
Two men, 2 totally different interactions. I thought white van man said "its a private shoot"...??? Loved the video, great drone shots, very interesting finding out about the work going on there. Big up the 'better man', i thought he was polite, not sure he knew you were filming though! 😂👏
Great chat with the worker and talk about the overflow weir maintenance. Easier to appreciate the size with workers present. 👍 Geography Britain has assorted photos of the Cropston Reservoir weir. 2013 photo shows the semi-circular weir steps and stone retaining wall on the sides. As the steps diffuse the water energy, twigs and branches also accumulate. 2016 photo shows a lower water level and the weir dry. 2005 photo shows much lower water level, dry and not used in long time.
Very interesting video DJ. I live 15 minutes away from the dam in Whaley Bridge, the engineer was really good at explaining what works were being carried out, another winner DJ my friend 🙂
Brilliant of the workman to take the time to explain things to you and very interesting. Unfortunately the STW employee seems to have the same attitude as the ones I’ve encountered in Coventry at the offices next to the police station who got upset that I was taking photos in public when their building is on “private property” I had to avoid peeing my trousers as I was laughing so hard at the “Karen” who insisted that the police would arrest me.
I really enjoyed watching that video. Well done to the guy in taking the time out, to chat to you & be so informative. That was interesting & lovely scenery too
That structure almost looked supernatural! Especially when you took DAVID up to look at the massive body of water it's holding at bay, I'm actually quite astounded, the pressure must be immense.
Great audit - nice to learn a bit more from that helpful chap. Would be great to see some more such audits on more unusual places of work, especially in such beautiful countryside!
Very interesting this one nice to have interaction with good old British tradesmen. I think the man who was having a time of the month episode was a fly fisherman who had spacial privileges
Excellent video DJ. I normally skip through drone flying over industrial estates unless there is water reservoirs involved. Watched all through drone flying this time, amazing to see those temporary water barriers in full scale. Thank you 👍 I wonder if that fisherman was actually fishing with all of that noise going on...he might be just a government spy LOL
The canvas dam is called a " cofferdam" many variations of it including boxed areas on sides of damaged ships to keep the damage dry for under surface repairs of a ships side. You see them in road works as well 😊
Excellent video dj, i would love to see more like these to be honest cause it's very interesting, that first guy was so pleasant and an awesome contractor for sharing his knowledge and time with you
Great content, love the videos mate. Could you do some audits in Hertfordshire so I have a chance in finding a key ring. Also what happened to your thumb nail?! Keep up the good work!
Can't beat a bit of fly fishing , weird place to do it though right next to the building work . I remember my dad bollocking me for talking too loud whilst he was fishing lol.
Nice one,I'm going to Whaley Bridge in 2 weeks working on it, that structure is a coffer dam if I'm right, they doing the same in Whaley Bridge but bigger scale 3 year job 👍
Brilliant as ever. You really ought to try Ladybower reservoir in the Peak District for some real fun. All along the public footpath there are sign's 'no drones' policed by over zealous NT wardens. I dare you hehe
It makes total sense. The existing cracks might bust open, so rather than maintain the reservoir, add a quick way to dump the water into a river when it is worn out and starts falling apart.
That scaffolding used to hold back the water is similar to a butress, used to prop up an existing wall in/on a building that has no other support, also used if you can not tie/bolt onto a building to stop the scaffolding from coming away from the wall/building. (Just incase amyone wondered)
The pressure on the blue foil isn't that much as the pressure only depends on the water that is above it vertical, not horizontale. (edit: as in water depth at the point of messurement.)
"And the water just fucks off". Technical term, obviously
I do this kind of work and can confirm that it is a technical term 😂 we use it all the time
This technical term applies across various industries.
Love it when people think you can only fly a drone over your back garden. How boring would that be.
I think it's in the Hydro Engineering manual under 'F'.
best bit of the video
A big thanks to Mr Tango to take the time to chat and explain what they are doing and how they are doing it.
Companies need more people like him.
Totally sorted bloke, that orange-clad guy taking time to politely explain the process of these reservoirs. No antagonism, no worries.
Ufos in the sky on this while talking to the man
Very interesting, it's so nice when skilled people take the time to explain things that we know nothing about 👍
yep I fapped as well

The truth of DJ.😅❤

that must be a technical term "the water just fucks off"
Can't believe I just commented the same thing lol
😅 love it.
Would you have prefered a hydro-dynamics explaination ? Haha
That's the correct technical term, you have a huge volume of water sitting there, you open this little gap, and WHAM its FUCKEN OFF AT FULL BORE!
I Liked his direct speech 😂🤝🧠💪💕
He was off for some fun time down the lane with his mate & you caught him 😂
You never know mate 🙌

Dear DJ,
I am greatly taken with the new technical term “water fuck off gate” and thank the Hollywood contractor for his time.
