We Had A Report Of Someone From Greenpeace Walking Up And Down 😲✌🎥🛸❌

- Today we take a look at What More UK, Altham Business Park, Shorten Brook Way, Altham, Accrington BB5 5YJ.
This is another site which is located at the end of a road so they tend to have less members of the public walking around but this does not mean that standards can slip.
We find, plastic pellets left discarded in many places, trip hazards, forklift use without proper registration and staff who do not take the issues seriously.
They even call the Police with a false report that I am an Activist from Greenpeace.
Enjoy!

DJ, This is a very serious issue with pellets getting into the gullies / water courses, the management of this company want bending over and well and truly shafting. It’s no secret about plastic spoiling our environment and killing our wildlife, I hope your findings really hurts this company. 👏👏👏
If they cant keep pellets that a domestic vacuum cleaner could pickup under controll imagine what liquids are getting into that river?
If ever a company needed a revisit it's this one. I'd be very, VERY interested to see how seriously they and your environmental people deal with this. Excellent discovery DJ. More businesses need to be held accountable. It's not just the number of solar panels they have that go toward the planet's clean-up.
A worthy revisit absolutly, we would all love to see it without the plastic in the drains. I hope the company starts using a better cleanup routine.
Yes, I want to see if they have done anything about it. DJ you need to re-visit this one please.
What a filthy irresponsible company with no regard for its surrounding environment and wildlife.
Brilliant Audit DJ. Those pellets are a danger not only to local wildlife but the marine life in our water ways too. even our drinking water will soon be contaminated by these toxic plastic pellets. Let's see what the environmental agencies have to say about this issue. Top job 👍
I actually think our drinking water IS contaminated by microplastics already.
@@PeterMaddison2483 You could be spot on with that assumption. It has also been discovered that fish have been found to contain plastic particles too. The very fish that many people consume.
Plastic has been found in human blood!! 😮
Djaudits another one for you is parking trailers without tractor units on public highways not legal or covered by company insurance, they should have their own trailer parking area on private land.
👍
Well done showing this company up. Those plastic pellets are definitely not cleaned up on a daily basis.
Now I approve of this video. Actually highlighting environmental issues rather than just trying to needlessly piss people off for entertainment purposes.
He never does that watch all his videos
@@eileendebling4643 I have watched enough to know that he really loves upsetting people knowing there's nothing they can do.
“What More” breaches of Health & Safety rules! A manufacturer to avoid then!
I do wonder if that police officer had seen you DJ driving a vehicle that wasn't taxed and insured if he'd have just left you to it and said "I'll let someone else know" it seems another example of how big business is treated differently to us small people
Great work finding the pellets. One of the worst forms of pollution.
I am not an "environmentalist" but I do know wrong from right when the environment has been compromised in such an awful manner. I have (along with many others I presume), therefore, emailed the company with a link to this video. Please do a follow up.
This video is the perfect example of why people need to audit these places on industrial estates because allowing plastic pellets to fall onto the floor for wildlife to confuse as food and to fall into the water drainage system can cost these companies fines of over £100,000+ for pollution and endangering wildlife. I also think you should re-visit some of the worst offenders to see if they take note or don't give a shit. And wonder whats goes into the river at the back ??
I work as an environmental health practitioner last 30 years in the safety auditing field.
Look we inspect all. Places but please let us know and we are trained and competent to deal with such issues, a lay person does not have the skills to come up with solutions and understand remedial actions required to tackle safety issues.
For example, you wouldn't get a heart operation from a barber would you..
@@vitalhygiene3546 you'll be passing this on to the relevant authority then won't you.
@@vitalhygiene3546 But everyone including the public as a responsibility to report all Health & Safety or environment issues to the company and it is their responsibility to remedial the issues.
@@vitalhygiene3546 An 'environmental health practitioner' how does that differ from an inspector/investigator? It doesn't require a degree or qualification for a 'lay person' to see and report on those pellets does it?
@Lookup2Wakeup
Well I'm glad we don't live in them times now. We rely on trained professionals these days not quacks.
DJ , An Irish long term viewer here , we had a very u fortunate event in which a child went into a dumped fridge and the could not get out with unfortunate fatal consequences, that silo with the open door could lead to a number of very very bad events .
Well done for highlighting these items
I have emailed the relevant authorities
I have reported the plastic pellet issue to Environment Agency incident hotline Telephone: 0800 80 70 60 and they have created a case.
I’m a fisherman and often find plastic in the guts of many species, this makes me very angry to witness. Good job highlighting this wrong doing DJ.
I think it would prefer a pellet in the stomach more than a hook through the mouth to be fair.
@@IPFreely1966 No hooks, all caught in a net, just like security guards.
There's no way they clean the pellet areas daily. Good job DJ 👍
Not a chance
If those pellets are cleared up on a daily basis, I am Mariah Carey.
It's crazy they have a giant sign saying "zero pellet loss!" that is literally surrounded by pellets. Totally insane.
Yeah that blew my mind. Advertising something that the employees are literally just ignoring. How is that big hose acceptable to the employees? Was strange.
They were not lost, they knew where they were, on the ground, in the drains, in the wildlife.
There is another way to see this:
They indeed do not have pellet loss, they spread them on purpose!
Or would that be an unfair approach?
But the cleaning ‘crew’ clean it every day. If DJ got there at 6pm it would have been spotless 😂
@@jdubbleu1011 Yes, you can see how all the individual pellets had been wiped over and placed back on the ground.
Wow! What More UK exposed! Begin with intimidation to get you to move on but you stood your ground. And the plastic pellets in the water system - bang to rights! This should make the local papers and TV and a massive fine. Brilliant DJ!
You are really taking auditing to the next level DJ, very innovative! I also believe you started the adoption of drones and just about every other auditor followed suit after you.
Great job exposing this one and for your real concern for the environment and U.K. wildlife.
One of your best videos yet! The fact those Silos are accessible is very bad animals could be trapped or even CHIlDREN! Very irresponsible. And I hope the envonmental agency do something about the pollution they are causing with the plastic pellets. Would be easy to build and enclosure around the silos and lock it off but as usual companies do t want to spend the money to do things right.
Excellent work DJ! Supreme attention to detail & audited with the utmost professionalism ✅ it’s a pleasure to watch auditing by someone at the top of their game 👍🏻 Keep on keeping on!
What’s worrying is the river nearby usually grids will run off into the nearest water course so i suspect the river is contaminated
Great video, these pellets are a nightmare especially when they are entering the wildlife and getting into the water course and drainage systems. As for the fork trucks what would happen if they were to be involved in a road traffic accident. The driver would be the one losing his license and possibly having a personal injury claim against him. If it was a member of the public driving around without registration, tax and insurance the police would be on you like a ton of bricks.
As a long time owner of forklifts in an accident they take no prisoners, they are solid and very heavy and a collision with a car or cyclist / pedestrian will not end well
Great interaction with the police and an interesting audit. This sort of pollution is going on all over the country. Excellent DJ.
That was AWFUL. Think of the damage that all those bits of plastic will be doing for centuries. All because they are being lazy and can get away with it. I hope something happens with this.
I think a follow up will be needed by you or someone else. 👍👍👍
Centuries!!!???? Hahahaha stop being stupid.
Reminds me of Kitchen Nightmares when Gordon asks how often do you clean the kitchen? "everyday" and you can tell it hasnt for years
I need to say this is why I have time for your videos.
I was gobsmacked at the amount plastic pellets littered around. To see the pellets in the drain was the last straw. I intend to make a complaint to this shoddy business regarding this serious matter. As you quite rightly say wildlife will probably eat those pellets. It’s absolutely disgusting. And there’s no excuse for it. And the two men that lied regarding the pellets being cleaned up daily is also absolutely disgraceful.
The whole place stinks of shoddy careless practices.
Outstanding work mr Audits.
The officer could have shown more appreciation and understanding to what you told him and showed him.
But he was fairly reasonable.
I really hope the council, environmental health and united utilities all take action regarding this absolute criminal behaviour by this shoddy business.
Here! Here1
where are the motorway protestors now???
Amazing
@@esecallum ??? 🤔🤔🤔motorway protesters ? I’ve no idea what you mean. Didn’t know people were protesting on motorways
Health and safety law (HASAWA 74) applies to anywhere a person can get to. The pipe at the side of a public path is a trip hazard for anyone stepping off that path - the company need to either remove the hazard or mark it up / barrier it, as they are liable for any issues arising from it. An uncovered pit in the middle of your yard is your fault, if an intruder falls into it!
The police officer did a really good job. Exactly how police should act. Credit to his force.
100%
hmm did he though🤔 He appeared to be understanding but he had no choice considering the state of the place. Also we don't know the content of his conversation with the company, yet what we do know is that the police favourer corporations and business's over the public and are noticeably not usually fond of auditors. 😇
@@Angel-Adramelech My view precisely. Well said
@Red viking he did, very first thing he said. I'm recording as well.
@Angel Adramelech I felt he did, he listened investigated and regardless of what he said to the company, the right action was taken.
You should do a return trip to see if they are adhering to the rules
Environmental Potection Act 1990 Section 34 duty of care - offence, Magistrates fine unlimited £ and or 1 year in prison. Crown Court unlimited fine £ and or five years prison
This needs reporting with your video to your local Council Environmental team, or legal services.
As a resident of Accrington and a lover of the environment, I thank you for bringing attention to this DJ 👍
Also a Accrington resident, nice to see DJ travelling to the North West. Hope there might be at least one more video of Altham business park.
Please complain.
Report it to ya local council mucker 👍
Do you live local? It would be interesting to go back and see if they have cleaned up all that ecological damage.
DJ, I hope you're actually going to report these issues to the Environmental Agency ...this is one example of how plastic gets into the food we eat. 😡
When the only punishment is a fine of money, this big business does not care.
Couldn’t agree more, please report @DJ!

So another bunch of officious pratts who think they are lord of all who are unfortunate to come into contact with them .. I am struggling to understand how anyone would walk up to a member of the public walking on a public footpath, and start barking orders , demanding to know what you are doing
I know loads of work colleagues who would do that, almost to a man the most useless workers.
I have no patience for this lot , I would just say fuck-off, sorry but it's true.
Hi Viz Syndrome
Excellent video and hopefully once all the relevant authorities have paid them a visit they’ll stop being so blasé. They can’t even adhere their own rules so it needs people like you to bring them to account-well done DJ
When you said to the cop that you've only spoken to the works manager, that's a good point. I've worked for two companies where I have spoken to a director or senior manager about issues that junior management and supervisors are ignoring or causing and they have said they are completely unaware of it and invited me to go to them direct with any further issues, so it is often kept from them. Not that that's an excuse. They should all be aware of what's going on.
The directors should walk around the site once or twice a month as part of HSEQ audit, at random unannounced times. They may well think of ways to improve the business whilst having a stroll around. If they just get out of their car and walk into their office without looking left or right they are not doing their job.
Not looking and then saying "I'm shocked, I tell you shocked that x is happening" belongs in in the days of old.
The directors need to walk around their business.
Directors were lying, of course they know! 🙄
"Ah, I've heard of Auditors of course I have" said the cop. "...informed me your bodycam is on because the auditors have taught you that... people are now starting to behave, but theses guys, not yet" said DJ.
You're a professional. Please keep it up.
Can’t Greenpeace walk up and down?
No They have to come in a boat!
That's why I said is there a Injunction or something as they normally have signs all over the place but nothing at all. So wherever you are from, you can walk up and down that public footpath all day long with your camera and the police should not be called unless a crime is suspected.
Police don’t only deal with crime, police deal with calls received. People don’t know what is a crime, same as the police don’t.
People in HiVis tabards are the legal eagles in my book, they should be listened to intently and then……told to frig off.
hahahaha nice one

I could not believe what I saw with all them pellets scattered all over the place, definitely a high danger to wildlife "absolutely dreadful" and they did not seem a bit bothered about it, when you spoke with them, no care in the world "SHAME ON THEM" To be honest that area along the section of the pavement was totally disgusting. Lose cable, unattended pipes, etc. I hope they get their act together, as I see a hefty fine coming there way..... Great audit DJ.

DJ, I’d love this company to come out and say sorry for the disgrace you found, get it all cleaned up and invite you back to show they care and this issue was a one off and against their methods of practice. But like usual they just find DJ Audits as a massive problem to their business. Send them a copy of the Davidsons Development ltd so they can see how DJ can promote a brilliant product from a brilliant organisation 👏👏
Oh once he got caught out ,it went to I've got things to
do but had enough time to come out and attempt to control a member of the public. Lesson to be learnt Mr company man. Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house ! 🤔👍
Fair play the officer is a credit to his force, handled it in a professional way, too many of these companies are taking the absolute piss. Time for a revisit I think.
Keep on going with these visits and videos. As it’s great to share these and it’s also protecting many too. 🙏🕊☀️
Makes me wonder what is ending up up the river adjacent to their property if they are not concerned about what is on the footpaths and green areas
Great audit DJ...The Police Officer was brilliant. Those plastic pellets are a real danger to wildlife etc. Well done.
Hed have been brilliant if he had done something about the fork lift use...bet nothing was done
Hey DJ, Did you notice the livestock in the surrounding fields? i wonder how many pellets have drifted over and have been consumed by the sheep. This is how plastics enter the food chain. Well done for exposing them!
Well spotted mate
Brilliant audit DJ. Hope they get done for those misdemeanours.
You're bang on about people "starting" to behave, due to the great work being done by auditors. Still a long way to go though. Without the auditors they'd all still be making up the rules as they go along.
Greenpeace LMAO! Although ANYTHING that claims to work with 'recycled' anything is always super wasteful and terrible to the environment.
So he comes out to ask you questions and when you start asking him questions he doesn't have time for you.
Also, They don't seem to like being told what to do by a non-employee but I bet they inform employees of their short comings all the time.
Edit: and they clearly only like to look like they are for the environment, not actually be for looking after it.
I used to argue about our forklifts on the road years ago, it took a while and in the end I refused to drive it and they got it sorted, what people don't get is that is being driven on your driving licence while you are on the road.
Spot on mate 🙌
Action needs to be taken against them and reported to the Environmental Agency (EA) and also the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) also report to the police about the fork lift using the road with tax and insurance under Road Traffic Act. The road is maintained as a mixed responsibility. Also should be charged for wasting police time.
Excellent investigation DJ. Plastic beads contaminating drains/watercourses is totally unacceptable.
The forklift: there’s an issue that’s all too frequently ignored. (Them and golf carts).
Constantly used by businesses yet not licensed to be on the roadways.
It’s an issue to me because; I’ve had an idiot on a forklift back up into my truck. Caved in a large section of the box. The operator called his boss, who came out and offered to cover the damages, just get a quote and bring it back to him. When I tried to bring him the quote 3 days later, he was ‘busy’. The next week he was ‘away for the week’. After a month and a half, when I finally caught him in the parking lot, he says that it’s between me and the guy that was operating the forklift. And BTW he no longer works here. Then wouldn’t give me the operators name.
It took over 7 months but I did get my truck repaired at their expense. (But I also had to drive around with a smashed truck for 7mos because I didn’t want to have it repaired, then have them deny the extent of the damage.
There’s industrial estates around green bank police station. It would be interesting to see the response from the police around there as they are not all as polite as this officer and you would certainly run rings around their knowledge or massive lack of it.

i have emailed the company to see if they have cleaned up, no reply as i thought,i urge you all to do the same just google what more UK
I love this channel and this video was brilliant. A company that claims to be using waste plastic to better the environment yet actually are spilling said waste into the environment and indeed are breaking road traffic laws etc etc Masquerading as environmentally friendly yet actually adding to the problem massively. Proves that they are just about making money and stuff the environment
You could have let the copper know that if you see anyone from greenpeace you will let them know someone was looking for them, do your civic duty.
Health and safety is no joke
You did not mention the cars parked on the footpath. Your doing a great job. pellets in drain all over the place.
Double Yellow Lines .They own nothing except from their front gate to their property / yard
I can only call this a disastrous 'Own Goal'. Wacking great sign stating their zero tolerance to plastic beads laying around. Works manager stating the area is cleaned every day. Then DJ Audits uploads video evidence clearly showing plastic beads everywhere, even in the surface water drains. Policies not working and manager telling fibs.
The comment from DJ about the consequencies of the fork lift being involved in an accident whilst using the road was well founded, possibly doing so without insurance. Clearly the fork lift truck is operating on the public road. Perhaps some clarification needed about the fork lift operating on a public road without the appropriate licence and possibly no insurance.
I do appreciate DJ going about with PJ. PJ is a friendly, pleasant, gentle man and to have him abused and assaulted by those 5 goons made my blood boil. Nice to see DJ back him up when he can.
Worlds gone mad, you need a high viz to walk down a footpath as it’s not safe but it safe to leave plastic pellets all over the path and grass. Practice what you preach Lea, you company is embarrassing.

One would hope the bosses of this company take immediate action. This place and those workers you spoke with are a disgrace. Great audit DJ!
Now it's in the public eye they are sure to clean it up for a few months until provably reverting back to this standard.
