Wow! They actually mark items with a clearance price? I have to stand in line at the fabric cutting table and wait 10 or 15 minutes to get a price on clearance items. (I also have to stand in line at the cutting table to get a price on yarn that is not on sale! You must have a great Joann's.
I am always so jealous of the yarns and the sales, available in the US. I just don't have access to so much variety where I am in Canada. Of course, I just need a car to get across the border, but that's as possible as having a big box yarn store that is closer to me than half an hour away.

Our JoAnns is a smaller one. To be honest I’m a knitter, and acrylic works more for crocheters. I go a Mandela Sparkle cake, cause I liked the colors. I tried knitting a brioche scarf, and it looks really messy. I was surprised Argyle yarn store in Brooklyn was selling it. They make their own hand dyed yarn called Luminous Brooklyn, and also sell Hedgehog fibers yarn from Ireland. Might try doing a seed stitch scarf instead. I’ve tried learning crochet but, it just doesn’t look good as I’m left handed.

I live in Los Angeles. There is Joann’s near by. It has a huge yarn section with all new yarns.

I was at my Hobby Lobby in St Joseph yesterday. The yarn was not marked down. I returned today...and the yarn was being marked down. Yay me. Bought some to crochet a tank top. Did you return and buy some???
I just went to my local JoAnn's and nothing was on sale, no clearance, nothing new. They didn't even have that new Rave yarn 😔
its not my favorite but i scooped up some lily sugar and cream cotton yesterday for only $1.48 each at joanns.

Joann’s filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. In the most simple terms, corporations are able to file certain types of bankruptcy with the court that allows them time to recover/negotiate their debt with creditors. In March, Joann had entered into a Transaction Support Agreement (TSA) with the majority of its financial stakeholders. It received $132 million in new financing in March, and it reported plans to reduce its debt by $505 million thanks to the new funding and agreements with lenders and vendors. So, all in all, Joann’s is able to prove to the courts they have goodwill to gradually pay off debt, and stakeholders are also looking forward to the stock price rising again (since they are a public ally traded company) There would be too much money to lose if everything was closed permanently.
Since Joann’s is still trying to generate more positive cash flow and liquidity, they are probably utilizing a sales/marketing tactic to appeal to consumers to think they are getting a clearance deal when they’re not really. Basically, these little “clearances” are just to lure people, and not to offer genuine deals. I’m a victim of this as well haha
@@theYarnGeek they need to get rid of the home decorating supplies & stuff, that detracts. besides, these home decorating things are way too pricey, I can go to Target & find cheaper (as the clearance on these is still pricey & doesn't go down).
