    I realize you are already headed down this path, but have you considered using 10 mm Coremat?
    I used a lot of it in myself current rebuild especially in the curved areas. You can apply the 1708 right over the wet Coremat which will save a lot of time.

      You can glass right over the top of the divinycell as well. Per core bond instructions, they request resin on the core surface to putty. I’m using the vacuum bagging for even pressure and better pressure! I will look in to the matting though for future projects 👍

    austin , what was the advantage of vacuum bagging over using apoxy to fasten the core ? thanks and keep on rocking.

      Vacuum bagging is just constant and even volume and helps the core bond dissipate the air trapped when a vacuum is pulled. It’s a very good way for coring and bonding.

    What is coring and why you got vacuume it ?

    • @LindellAdventures
      @LindellAdventures  Год назад

      Coring helps the hull take waves and impacts without hurting the fiberglass. Some boats are coring and some are solid glass if weight isn’t a concern. Mine was soaked and was balsa end coring. This is closed cell foam which won’t hold water and is much lighter material. Vacuum bagging is a good method for high contact bonding. It’s like pressure but it’s vacuum so it’s measured in mBAR or CFM. It’s the best option for what I am doing with coring and Core Bond material that bonds it to the hull. Hope that helps explain it.
