    Had my AVX1980 for over a year, extremely happy with the layout and performance, like ur idea of the 3M tape at the tie down loops. Great handling in rough wind blown water too. Enjoy it.

      Thanks for commenting. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the video but I moved my winch stand forward a 1/2" to help the hook clear. If not I was afraid it would rub the paint off. The hook still made contact with the boat so the 3m has prevented any paint loss.

    I have the 2019 AVX 1980. This was the first generation of these boats and talk about issues. First was with the Minn Kota Ultrex, had to take my boat in several times because of a chip defect locking up the motor. Then there was a gas line defect that needed fixing, Lastly my boat started sinking on me because of a 12 to 15 inch slit in the hull on one of the rib edges. Thank God this slit occured upa at the near the bow of the boat because I was able to get the boat on plane and raise the front out of the water to keep the water from coming in more than it would have if this slut were more in the stern. No, I never hit a tree, log , or rock on this biat. From reading the blogs this issue had occurred several times due to a manufacturing issue with thw material. Even though I had all these issues I have to say Vexus fixed everyone of them to include replacing the whole hull with a new and improve 2022 hull. I haven't had any more issues and I'm very pleased with the Evirude 150 E-Tec engine whic to date has been the best 2 stroke and most efficient engine I've owned. This engine purrs, is not as loud or intrusive as the Merc's and gets up on plane very quick even when I'm loaded down. I'm sorry they don't make these engines anymore.

      Any issues I had which don't compare to a hull replacement have been fixed quickly without a question. I can hold a conversion at full throttle with the 150 mercury. It's not loud like the bigger engine. Thanks for commenting.

    How has the single axle trailer done? I tow a lot of miles, so want a tandem. If a bearing goes out, pull the wheel off that one. Chain it up and keep going.
    Also been waiting on the 1980 or 2080 with the wide front deck. Almost bought the first 1980C built. But wife wants the second console. So we held out until now. Being I can get the wide hull, 3 seat bases up front. The second console. Man that extra foot up there makes a giant difference.

      I live within a couple miles of where I fish. The longest trip I have taken was 3 hours and that was the day I brought it home. Besides that I drive 30 to 45 minutes to fish different lake & rivers. I haven't had any issues out of the trailer besides a little rust popping up. Vexus was quick to send me some raptor liner to fix it myself. I'm not driving 3 hours to the dealer for that.

    The 2019 thru 2021 models are hit or miss of the hull or transom cracking. 2022 and up are good to go.

      Lets hope the 2022 and up are good. I've had mine about 18 months. Only time will tell if they are going to crack.

    You got a video on how you installed the Moonlite jacks? I’m looking to do mine and after looking at it, it looks like it’s going to be a pain in the rear.

      I did that before I started making videos. I did drill them 1" off the inside of the gunnel. I centered them half way between the console and front of the boat. I used a fish tape to run the wires up to the front fuse block.

      @@fishnitup do you like the lights where they are at or do you wish you had them mounted further towards the front of the boat?

    • @fishnitup
      @fishnitup  7 месяцев назад +1

      Your able to rotate the light. I didn't have any issues that I can remember. Ill post some pictures to the Facebook page. It's linked on my home page.

    So what’s up with the hulls cracking; is this an older model issue or still a problem?

    • @fishnitup
      @fishnitup  7 месяцев назад

      This July will make 2 years I've had my boat. It has the thicker hull and I haven't had any issues with it. I haven't heard of any 2022 and up models cracking.

      Wouldn't buy a 21 or older. No peace of mind with the hulls cracking. They cost way too much to be putting up with that. As far as the rest of them go. I think I'd rather buy a used glass boat than spend the money on a new one of these. They cost way too much for what u get. I drove a 1980 with a 150 and a 2080 with a 200. The 1980 was underpowered in my opinion. The 2080 was better but just cost too much.
