Andy!!!!🤠 another great brand battle!!!🤓 I'm not seeing stars or tomahawks 😬 you know I'm here🤗 Trolling motor brand BATTLE or make it up, I know you can do it!!!😜🤪 Loving the videos!!!
Love my Ikon LX21... best boat I have ever been in or owned... The Ride makes up for the lack of speed. If your in Big water you want to be in this boat!!! #gamechanger
Need a budget friendly category! Hard to do apples to apples when the prices are so different. Like the Phoenix basscat battle, hard to compare a baddass 721 pro xp at $73k new vs a same equipped jaguar for 100k. I mean you literally can buy two 721’s for an ikon. It’s not twice the boat, there’s no way.
Just saw my first Ikon a couple weeks ago. Sitting in showroom with 120K price tag. It is a beautiful boat, and it is huge! If one has the money, go for it!
I think that's BS. Andy ripped them a new one after that tour which shows no bias. He literally drove it and was impressed with how it handled because after all the hundreds of boats he's driven, the responsiveness and handling of the ikon really impressed him. And yet, after that factory tour vid he critiqued them honestly and it wasn't all positive so IDK how you can accuse him of being bias towards Ikon.@@bigbeef8935
Looked at an Ikon at a boat show recently. Huge front deck a central tackle storage compartment. For $120k, I would expect really nice rod storage system. On a boat in this class, it should be standard equipment. The rear deck and rear storage compartments are tiny for anyone planning to fish with a partner. Lastly the compartment lids seemed a little flimsy.
I’ve been in a vx21 it was amazing in rough water the seats made the ride feel even better. I have a champion 203 and it was just as good in rough condition champion beats it in speed though.
I appreciate your honesty on all of these boats and products, they are all home mortgages now definitely out of the 9-5 working man price range. Bring back the Champions/Legends hands down, I own an Skeeter FXR 20 and I can’t afford to trade with these crazy rates guess I’ll be Skeeter until 😅😂
I have a VX21 and its nothing short of amazing. Glad to hear you say something positive about Vexus. I cant compare to ICON being its probably gonna be a long time before i actually see one in person on the water down here in TEXAS. Hell i've only seen 1 other vexus in the past 3 years or so on the water where im at. Everything is expensive and stupid these days but it is what it is. I hate it just as much as the next guy but both these boats are a dream bass boat and really just a flex to show off at the boat ramp. HAHA
Both these boats are CHOP GUN JUNK and time will tell if they'll stand the test of time, but ey, look at all other popular Chop Gun brands that are still around and/or doing well. With today's prices you'd expect a fully hand laid hull and that simply isn't the case, and these companies will hide behind some BS like "in order to meet the demand we need to modify our practices" which roughly translates to "We're going to do the absolute minimum to get the product to market as fast as possible while offering "comparable" quality to that of the competition" in BS Speak. I'd never spend that kind of insane money on a chop gun anything. That toilet paper shooter has ruined the industry for the customers and grown the pockets of the manufacturers and instead of passing on any kind of savings to the customers, they instead strategically capture your attention by focusing on trivial flashy things that don't really make the boat any better. East Cape will get my money once I'm ready for a brand new boat because no one in the industry offers fully hand-built quality like they do, and I can have a 21' Flats beast that will double as a bass boat at a fraction of the cost.
I'm curious to know if 1 person reviewed both boats or many? I've seen 2 Ikons and if I didn't know any better I would of thought the were Vexus's. Maybe its because I own a Vexus avx 1980 but you seem like your a Ikon lover and it shows through your video. As far as quality in a aluminum boat I haven't seen any boat that holds a match to a Vexus avx boat. Speed yeah my Vexus isn't that fast and they could use a bigger engine option, but fish cant swim 70mph.
Good comparison as usual. I really wish I could afford one of these bass boats and I make pretty good money but I can't afford another mortgage payment for a bass boat.
If you take the outboard, trolling motor and all the electronics off, should be about 40-45k, show why these boats ARNT worth the cost. You should do it on all boats. Do a break test!
I do wonder if this is a fare judgment because he has only been in one of these boats. Also a big negative for me is the speed on the ikon. My pheonix 21ft with a Suzuki 250ss goes 74mph it should atleast do the same
Vexus better price good quality great fish ability. Ikon has a touch screen it’s slower and the price is crazy. I thought I was nuts getting a vexus but with prices now I got a deal..
Instead of just saying which boat won each category, you should provide the actual reasons for your opinion. For example, why do you think Ikon performance and build is better?
With this economy I don’t see either one of these companies making it. That is unless they have a more lower class models with a price point people can afford to keep them afloat.
Here on st. clair, i see a bunch of vexus' and just don't like how bubbly it looks and the ikon looks like a flip flop. I'll take a blazer 625 any day. I can replace the motor twice and still save money over these 2.
I don’t think you are taking into consideration how they apply and build the boats with fiberglass when you talk about the quality of the build. Vexus is the only boat manufacturer for bass boats to vacuum seal the fiberglass instead of rolling it out like the other brands. This leads to a stronger fiberglass with less bubbling and fracturing of the fiberglass. They are both great boats and use high end materials, but fact of the matter is vexus has a better fiberglass hull and top cap.
There both waaayyyyy overpriced but I’ve driven an Ikon, was not impressed at all. Especially for that price. Nothing against that company, truly, but with the price that both companies are charging, especially Ikon, hope they break that market and bass boats get down to the $80-$90k loaded out, so literally $100k buys you the very best boat with everything on it!!! Our local guys in debt over a Hydra Sport basically are insane which is why we have 1 dealer and I believe they’ve sold 4, 1 maybe 2 are on the pro staff so we will say they’ve actually sold 3 Ikons. One was used a little and had a nice discount. So only 2 sold. Not shocked at all, hope they don’t sell another one until the prices drop… Have a great weekend gentlemen!!!!
At their ABSURD Price points I think Both are an epic phail! I'd find a stratus 21 Pro XL and restore it and update the seating and have a boat that is every bit as good (in my opinion… Better) for under $10K. Crazy how people just willingly throw money in the trash these days. Zero respect for money and people don't bat an eye at signing up for a mortgage payment for an item that loses 7% or more of its value the moment you drive it off the lot. An appropriate price point for "High-End" bass boats should be in the neighborhood of $50-$55 K decked out with ll the bells and whistles, and oh yeah, a 150 is plenty fast for any bass boat. So many knucklehead on the water dangerously haulin' absolute ass for no good reason. Go with a 150, go plenty fast, save on gas, and when Sharrow props become affordable get you one and increase both your overall speed and fuel costs.
