I’m in a recomposition phase with my body (trying to gain muscle and lose fat simultaneously) and protein bars are the main thing I had to cut out. Will stick with them for long outdoor activities and also traveling but not great for every day use like you mentioned
All this great ideas I’m planning on using, my issue is portion sizes, like you mentioned 1/4 cup of nuts. But those apply to women too? I workout lifting heavy 5 days a week. I do use protein powder but I’m limiting my carbs and fat because I need to lose some fat. 😊
That's great! I recommend the 1/4c of nuts because it's a good serving of nutrients while limiting the calories. So if that fits into your calorie goal, great! But feel free to adjust with more or less as needed based on your calorie calculations. Also, props for lifting 5 days a week that's so awesome! Make sure to get enough carbs as that will be your primary source of energy for those types of movements. Focus on veggies, sweet potatoes, and whole grains. If you're looking to lose fat while building muscle, about 1/4c to 1/3c of whole grains per meal, in addition to lots of protein and veggies, can help you reach that goal without feeling drained for your workouts!
I like to brag about La Banderita yellow corn tortillas. They have 1% fat (not saturated), 0% cholesterol, 0% sodium, 17 grams of carbohydrates (6%), 2 grams of dietary fiber (7%), and 0% sugars (no added sugars). Two tortillas are 80 calories. I use them for my layered salads. I sometimes make my own tortillas, but these La Banderita tortillas are pretty healthy and are a quick fix.
I really appreciate how you encourage people do go out and act on what they learn in the video-you’re such a teacher and I love it. That’s such a good reminder because it’s easy to watch a video and not actually follow through.

That's great to hear! How are you doing on that journey? Are there any other obstacles you're facing with it?

Skout Organic bars are also great and minimal ingredients.
I haven't heard of those, thank you for sharing!
I like the date with peanut butter, or stick a couple of nuts in there. I love them stuffed with a pecan or walnut.
Heck yes!! Also my favorite hiking snack!
