The color saturation of 90s commercials is incredibly warm and i love it.
Like the music video republica ready to go
Agreed. I'll take this over HD any day. XD The RGB shift of the pixels really takes me back.
Just brings me back to being a kid again, and that different culture of America we miss. 👍 If your reading this, have a great day, and never forget where you came from.
REAL TRUTH! I could not have said it better myself. By the way, likewise. 👍🏿👍🏿
Me too. This brings back so many memories of being a kid, and having few cares in the world, except maybe waiting to get a Nintendo 64.
This is our generation, we are the ones raising the current kids, and voting for people that have no business in office (what ever office that may be). I will admit that there ARE things out of our control with the government having their own agenda, but at the end of the day it's up to the parents to teach the kids, not phone app/websites. The era in this video died I THINK within the 2010s...
97 was prime. 17 yrs old then. Here I am now 2024 still keeping the same comments from before me going. I feel every one of you guys. Everything different about us and we all still feel the same things. Time is precious and these commercials help to recapture some of the most forgotten emotions. Awesome stuff. Here's to the next new comment one day....🎉
Same.
This actually isn't edited. Commercials in the 90s were mad long.
People had longer attention spans back then. Lol
They were better too
Good for us 90s kids to reminisce to in this COVID invested, divisive time we live in.
Dont seem to have gotten much shorter
Commercial breaks Up to 5 min sometimes
I guess this is as close to a time machine as I will get
thanks for uploading
Reminds me of those old recorded tapes they'll show Alzheimer patients to make them feel comfortable with themselves
Beautifully put!
Go virtual reality and make you room with TV and video games. Much closer. lol
1997, what a year!! I was 10 back then and OBSESSED with The Lost World: Jurassic Park!!
Damn good movie
I had one more of those BK watches to get, and never could get it. Every Burger King around seem to only have the same ones. Scarred me apparently lol
I was 15, and I LOOOOOVE everything about the 90s.... I can't really remember anything I dislike, oh wait yeah I hated the commercial breaks.....
I was 7, good times
I was also 10 and in san diego and when i saw lost world show san diego with the t rex runnin through downtown... we all couldnt believe it was just for us in san diego...we assumed they made it like that for every city ....then we also thought the seaworld and zoo part with ingen presentation was like a choose your own adventure rhing too like radio stations do for every city...then we realized it was just for san diego it was a crazy feeling growing up arlund the san diego zoo and wild animal park and sea world like the whole city really is one big amusement park and that movie really hit home literally with that vaporwave 90s n64 pokemon mall nostalgia ....
I love to throw on some 90's commercials just for that wave of nostalgia
Me too
Man we were lucky as hell to have grown up in this era it was the best !
salute to GenX !
and millennials we had the same..i wana cry moment...
If you were born from 82-96, you’re a millennial not Gen-X
I’m a millennial. 1983 birth year and the mid 90s 95-97 was the best years of my life.
I frequent this channel daily for sanity and to escape this new harsh world
Those Jurassic park watches were the *greatest* thing Burger King ever put out!
...and they put out a lot of great things in the 90's!
I had one. It got wet and it still worked!
I swear!! Man I was in 6th grade and I use to get so excited every time that BK commercial would come on and I’d beg my mom to get me that one with the reptile eye! Man I miss the 90s
Anything Jurassic park has always been great, I know I have hundreds of items I've collected from the movies
I had the Stegosaurus one
Also the spongebob ones
Wow 20 McNuggets for 2.99!!!
My mouth dropped
Bobby Cornell good open wide Bobby 🍆🍆
@@Super122291 lol lol lol!!!
20 McNuggets at many Mcdonalds are only $4.99 now. Not bad for 23 years later
@@gadgetzloops7319 they went up to $7.99 by my house.
We need to go back to commercials like these.
They're comfortable man. Everything is too glossy, the people are too stiff. Can't believe 1997 is so long ago.
Or just no commercials
This culture too I miss 90’s culture so damn much.
@@drmayne loool, I was born in 97 lol
The 90s, the golden age of America. Those were good days.
It’s nostalgia
@@WONANDONESPORTS doesnt meant it wasn't better.
@@ValSempai doesn't mean it was either
@@WONANDONESPORTS it just takes people like us to a place on life that we were at that time.
For me, it was a simpler time. I personally miss this era
@@takemeback5307 well said as is for most
I miss the 90s.
As much as I hate ads, I'm enjoying these old school commercials. Really takes me back.
They were apart of some of the best times of our lives. The simpler ones.
@@UrbanNoizeMusic Ain't that the honest truth. I completely agree on that one.
It's so funny I used to wish I could fast forward these and now I am watching them on purpose.
That irony also dawned on me as I was watching lol As they say, "you don't know what you've got until it's gone"
In 97 I was a senior in high school…these brought back some memories!
How can Howard Stern be the King of ALL Media if he’s NEVER even been on Nickelodeon?
Well because Nickelodeon sucks asshole probably lol
@@Vgp-rp4iu dude stop it 🤦🏾♂️
Major nostalgia. 1997 was a great year.
This a great distraction I was 9 at the time. I remember these commercials and remember wanting these toys to play outside.
The whole 'visa versus mastercard' was something I don't miss. Locking merchants into being exclusive? That doesn't really happen now. I've never walked into a store and had to ask 'do you accept mastercard?'
uh bitcoin llol
@@zacharywilliams6433 that's not the same and you know it.
It was never Visa vs Mastercard. It was Visa vs American Express.
Costco doesn’t take capital one because it’s MasterCard…didn’t know this till I was checking out. Luckily I had a visa.
You’re right…my parents used to have to ask that, and I haven’t thought about it in decades. I can think of exactly one place I went recently that didn’t take Discover, and that’s it.
I love how fast food places used to send direct shots at their competitors back in the day 😂
Now they’re woke
Lol look up chic fil a on Twitter. Theu literally said " we close on Sundays so we can let Wendy's have atleast one day of business". Wendy's responded "screw you".
Now they’re the Uni-company… all off one mind: “”woke””
I just watched a compilation of 1998 commercials and now i am watching this (1997 commercials) and i can say this was the last year they had pretty good commercials, they really went downhill in 1998 and after!
Yep, a lot of things went downhill after this.
For me 95-97 were the best commercial
Years
King of the hill was and still is one of my favorite animated tv show's. Thank god for Hulu now or I'd be S.O.L...
I remember watching all these commercials when I was little and it brings back memories from my childhood days when I was a little boy 👦
Man this takes me back in time got me missing my mother and grandmother
THESE are the commercials I really remember. I've subscribed and will be looking through all your old videos. 1993 through 2002...fingers crossed.
I noticed this was from a recording in Cleveland where I’m from. Cool!
ur brainwashing was just like mine in san diego. mossy nissan
1997 was one of the most awesome years of my life, I loved it! It was the year I turned 16 lol oh what a time! This video right here just brings it all back, THANK YOU ARWUNS!! 💯Likes!!
Waits for every new episode coming up next to start...
Seriously 🤣🤣 I was doing the same.. like “Oooo X-files is about to come on 😯” ... then BOOM, next commercial 😔🤣🤣
Holy crap a Pontiac Sunfire commercial?! Miss those cars they were everywhere when I was growing up.
GM never should have dropped Pontiac
Ever wonder where the last 23 years of your life went?
😔😔
30
Yup
Yep! It’s wild shit. I was 18 when these played originally . I’m now 42😭
I wonder were my hair and waistline went, along with the 23 years.
Wow. I watched A LOT of TV in the 90s.
47:29 that Jordan commercial is still better than 99% of the commercials today
Man... 1997 was a good year. For me at least. Of course I was only about 7 back then, so...
I was 6😭😭wanna go back sometimes
I was 18. It WAS a good year!
I was 7 as well.👍
I was 8 man I miss being a kid not a care in the world
@@sonicthehedgehog5360 People say that youth is always remembered as better than it was, but genuinely, the '90s were just a good time to be alive, all things considered.
I wish we could go back to 1990 and try again.
anyone who was alive back in the 1990s knows everything went to shit after 9/11.
1993. President and Madam President Clinton made the U.S. a good country and they had the right wing deplorable humans obsolete.
The Deplorable right wing thugs stolen their Second Election in the U.S. in November 2000.
The right wing humans likes Kaos and intentional Torts.
Married with children ending was the saddest thing 😢
I remember seeing that Star Wars Empire Strike Back in theaters 1997, I was only 3 it was so rememberable how pack the theaters was and watching it on a big screen like that. Good memories
I watched episode 4 in theaters in 1997 when I was 9. Did they play both in the same year?
@@randybobandy9828 it might had been 4. Its been so many years ago and I was really young, I could got the movies mixed up
These commercials are fun and energetic, not subdued, nor did I see and auto insurance or prescription drug commercial.
Or the most annoying guy in the history of TV, the My Pillow Guy!
Dammit RUclips Ads! I'm trying to watch Ads here.
The brisk iced tea commercial brings me back..ahhh ;)
97 I don't remember much TV, that spring my grandma died and our house burned down sometime before or after, I don't really remember. Was only 4 at the time.
These commercials were so extreme!
Oh my goodness that gone fishing commercial. I had forgotten all about that until the wine part. That "I could drink a full glass" has stuck with me all these years
I turned 7 years old on 04/13/1997 and I remember most of these 😊
20 McNuggets for 2.99 what an era to be alive. LOL
And now 8 months later, they've doubled again!
Okay the 3 musketeers was the first one to hit me with nostalgia
80s and 90s commercials had memorable jingles
I was born May 1980 and the 90s were my teenage years. I miss how the world felt back then. And it's not just nostalgia. It had a different vibe to it.
I remember and love the Nissan 300ZX GI Joe & Barbie commercial. look at the prices on those fast food commercials.
Commercials in 1997: high production values, 27 different angles in 30 seconds, slo mo and gratuitous shots of food, actual effort in commanding the viewer’s attention.
Commercials in 2021: CGI blobs with flexible limbs dancing about the delivery they just ordered. Companies trying too hard to cater to Generation Z with recycled Tik Tok trends. Bland and lifeless overall.
The difference is that nobody really watches TV anymore, people still were as the internet was still only semi accessible at this point. As soon as people gravitated towards the web the less money entered the ad world through television. As a result ads got increasingly cheaper and a lot dumber.
I miss how we did movie trailers back then. The heavy editing we did to the films to use just enough of the right audio and scenes to portray the genre of the film, without giving away all the best parts of the film so you’d be surprised if you went to go see it in theaters… I feel like I haven’t seen that done in a while.
There are whole videos about this topic.
Thanks 😊 I miss those days
I graduated high school in 97, it was such a different time. A better time.
A better time indeed
If there's anything the 90s loved it was fish-eye lenses 🤣
In the music of many of these commercials, you can really hear PRINCE's influence. General 90s music feel. I always think of 🤴.
Did anyone know who Jim Gaffigan was in 1997? Crazy to think he was doing Saturn commercials back then.
He was in that 70s show.
Wow man great quality. this is great...
I miss childhood so much 🥺
Thank you for doing this!
"Zantac is so SAFE" that didnt age well...
It is safe, the recall that happened was because the production process had impurities due to lax manufacturing quality.
@@justinblackwood4241 "it's safe, except for this thing that made it not safe"
@@claytontraise5903 I suppose that's a bit of semantics. The traditional Zantac compound "Ranitidine" itself is safe. The quality control process failed, and impurities during the manufacturing process allowed impurities (non-Ranitidine compounds) to make it in the final product. It seems like manufacturing of "Ranitidine" looks like it's too difficult to be consistent and safe, so it seems like it may not return to the market. I do agree with you, if manufacturing of "Ranitidine" is not easily safe, then you can argue the compound itself is not safe. However, now Zantac (Zantac 360) is using "Famotidine". So we'll probably continue to see the "Zantac" brand, but with the safer "Famotidine".
10:59 I remember watching this with my cousin and aunt and uncle while we ate dinner. It's been about 27 years since then
I remember getting those bk watches 😆 i wish i could just go back to the 90s for a day smh it really was the good ol days
Being 38 years old now.. This really hits hard!
i just turned 30 Fam, i fuckin miss this era Soo much; shut out the woke and head back
I was 22 in 97. The world seemed so different yet the same …
Same here.
Oh yes, the "Got Milk?" commercials...
WOW! I totally forgot about these commercials 10:05 and 17:01 , so 90’s 😎
Back when you were not the product but the customer to the products.
9:54 - I love how the bro is just cracking up a 2L bottle on the park bench.
Fast forward to 2023 (26 years later), and people are starting to remember 1997.
I remember all of these ... better times for sure and I miss those day's
I was 8 and remember a lot of these, especially the got milk commercials and king of the hill
I gotta point this out. Just because. Noticed how all the commercials were inclusive of different people in celebration. Not individual groups in their safe spaces or getting separate treatment in a targeted commercial. Just sayin’ have we culturally gone forward or backwards?
Backwards for sure. Some people don't realize that the 90s was already forward thinking
We were nostalgic about Star Wars already at that point, what’s depressing is how it doesn’t seem that long ago
I remember those old old Chicken McNugget boxes from McDonald's from the early 2000s I was born in 97 so I couldn't tell you what they look like in the 90s cause I've never seen the ones from the '90s only from 2000 and up
I never would have thought that I'd be actively seeking out commercials from the 90's. Back then, i just wanted them to end.
in 1997 a 20 piece chicken nuggets for $2.99??!!!! Damn now it's $6
I love that Jim Gaffigan is eating in his commercial! 😂 just seems right!
Also, that’s Gabriel, from Supernatural, in the diet Dr Pepper commercial!!
I remember having the raptor watch from burger king , oh man i miss it 😔
3:00
HOLY SMOKES! IT'S THE
"Oero. 🤷♂️" GUY!
Anyone else remember that commercial??
"So what do we call these???
Harry?
*Harry stuffing his face with Oreos*
Harry: ..... 🤷♂️ Oero.
Harry, you're a genius!
Harry: ???
PLEASE TELL ME I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS THIS!
I remember 😎👆🏻
Zantac 75 is so safe...only causes cancer😐
All those chicken mcnuggets, all that heartburn relief medicine....
That Doritos commercial @17:00 is so 90’s. It’s straight up pandering to the “rad” culture of the time.
Rad was 80's
It followed the rule of every ‘90s rock/alternative music video: Throw incomprehensible shit on the screen and pretend it means something. Bonus points for random animals, religious symbols, and pastiches of 1950s “nuclear families.”
If by “Doritos”, you mean “CK Be”, then ok.
@@daftoptimist lmao nothing wrong with the nuclear family, it was the backbone of our country...now our country is shit and full of communist wannabe twats.
@@randybobandy9828 Not sure how on earth you managed to read my speculation about the themes in ‘90s music videos as some kind of put-down on the traditional family structure. “90s videos featured satirical depictions of ‘50s families” = “lol nuclear families suck?” That’s a reach if ever I saw one. But whatever, it’s the Internet, that’ll happen. Have a nice day.
I remember when I used to hate these commercials and now I am watching them
Best year of the 90s
man Fox was On Fire in the lates 90s
if i told 6 year old me, that 29 year old me would be watching commercials for fun. I would think i was fucking crazy.
It kinda gauges where we’re at in 2021 lol
Are we just going to ignore Jim Gaffigan at 18:52
I know, nobody mentioned it!
I was born in Jan 1990, and watching this today is so fucking wild man
U old af. Damn john
I miss the old McDonald’s French frys, lol.
and the deep fried mcchicken.
Delicious beef tallow. Fries haven't been the same since.
Subway was so good in the 90s. You could smell it from OUTSIDE the door.
28:17 - I'm glad we no longer narrate trailers to this extent. Like seriously, he's just quoting a line from the song 'Men in Black' ?
I like to put this on my iPad in the kitchen while I cook ❤
I was 21 in 97 lol I can't believe how long ago it was, my son was a year old now he's turning 26 😳
27:42
NEVE CAMPBELL
27:43
COURTENEY COX
27:44
MEN IN BLACK
Notice how music-driven commercials were back then... we had a lot better musicians back then too.
Yes, they tried to build their commercials with fun, allot of close up shots. Nowadays they try to make them too noble and make sure no one could be offended.
and very cliché rock tracks to make these commercials 'edgy'.
@@MessiMerdo no, they just try to aim commercials toward adults now instead of young people so they don't piss the parents off
Oh god. People will say the same thing 20 yrs from now.
Modern ads are so boring
It's like being in a time traveling machine
Can I pleaaaaaaaaaase go back to 1997???
Maaaaan the memories smh
Bruh I used to have the Lost World Jurassic Park watches! Especially the green scale one with the translucent eye.
I was eight and was interested in dinosaurs.
Still am.
Funny seeing Jim Gaffigan in a Saturn commercial lol
