Story:
Years ago, the great hero Ortega bid farewell to his wife and child as he set off on a quest to defeat the villainous Archfiend, Baramos. Ortega failed his quest, and Baramos still threatens the world. Given how they're releasing the remakes of 1 and 2 after this, I'd say that's the intended order to the developers. Glad to hear you're having a good time! I continue to adore this art style, this'll be an easy purchase sometime soon for me.

I agree! I actually finished up the main game on Friday, and it even ends with a trailer for the remakes of 1 and 2, so definitely the intended order! I can definitely recommend it if you enjoyed other HD-2D JRPGs! I liked it enough that I'm going to finish up the post-game stuff too!

In my top games for 2024! I'm not sure how to word what caught my eye so much about this when it was announced in a nintendo direct, and I still can't word what I like so much about it now that it's out. But, I will say, the translation isn't just bad english, I think it skips some things for english players. The story makes more sense when I listen in and try to use the japanese version (you can choose english VAs though if anyone's worried about that), or if you have pre-existing understandings of fantasy tropes - I think it would be so confusing what's going on otherwise! Also, I'm so glad the mage they gave me is a cute girl cause I see you got an old man haha.

I'm glad it made your top 5 list! I think there's a lot that stands out about this game (especially the art style) so I'm not surprised something about it clicked with you! Yeah I just got a bunch of old men for my party! 😂 I wish I'd taken the time to custom make my party at the start
