I don't think lots of people understand what this is about. I can call it the 1st generation of Super Cars back in 80s 90s. 959 along with F40 F50, XJ220. Only handful of so-called super cars which outperformed all the other sports cars of that era. Prestige wise,this is not even camparable with flooded Super cars from all brand these days. Only few, extremely few owned those, unlike several tens of Super car models and tens of thousands of new owners per year these days.
Auto, Motor und Sport measured a top speed of 317 km/h (197 mph) and 3.7 seconds for 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph).[19] Those values were recognized by Guinness World Records as highest road tested speed for any road car and highest road tested 0-100 km/h acceleration.[20][21] Road & Track measured a top speed of 198 mph (319 km/h), 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, 0-100 mph (0-161 km/h) in 8.2 seconds and 11.9 seconds at 119.5 mph (192.3 km/h) for the quarter mile.[22] Car and Driver measured 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds in komfort trim which was 9 tenths quicker than any other car they tested in the 1980s
When the road car was being tested and compared to the Ferrari F40 asking back then, "Which is best ?" I thought the comparisons were totally chalk and cheese. Rally car vs road racer. So nice. Well done for indicating left Mr. Owner. Well done for blondie in the passenger seat Mr. Owner.
That's the whole point of the 959. It wasn't designed to scream "look at me", but was a technical engineering exercise. It does everything so well and understated without any drama.
Much more classy than modern Porsches in so many ways.
I actually love it in this color. This and the F40 were the defining supercars of the 1980s. This one is absolutely breathtaking.

One of my favourite Porsches, almost futuristic looking! It had such an interesting shape. Nowadays everything the Germans produce looks so boring.
