I think as far as I understand the Rules the Copy of the Spell created with Narsets Reversal does not count as beeing cast, so it should not have triggered Orvar. Though I doubt that it would have changed much. Still a very nice game and fun concept with the battle of the Representatives.
This was a mistake but I don't think it affected anything.
It's nice to see such high cost commanders again that actually are competitive.
I love seeing multiple channels crossing over into other channels its always fun!

6:50 Orvar shouldn't have triggered off the Narset's Reversal trigger; he only triggers when you cast an instant or sorcery. NR creates a copy that you dont cast (compare to Isochron Scepter).
This is the biggest anime crossover of all times!

I hope we get to see more of these types of games (commanders only from the new set). Really enjoyed the Ikoria one too, and was looking forward to what you guys were going to do with zendikar rising legendaries. Kaldheim did not disappoint.

@@gqphoenixclops3056 They also weren't super hot on hull breacher, especially as combined with mass draw spells. Suddenly having 20+ mana available on turn 2 off instant speed spells is problematic.
@@peterstewart7332 they have a game approach that is quite far come competitive and therefore dislike cards like breacher and opp. agent. i cannot disagree

6:45, the Narset's Reversal copy does not make a new Coveted Jewel because it's not cast.

I personally don't play stax and tax effects. That usually makes it harder on my Danitha Capashen and Tron Tokens deck itself. Never been a fan of it as the overall since total control has never suited me personally
@@Starcraftgamer97 that's fine, but if you aren't playing cEDH, in casual anything goes. White is only competitive due the stax and tax effects.
Silence, Orim's Chant, Rule of Law, Spirit of the Labyrinth, etc... all would have been good that game.

Narset reversal won't make you "cast". It was a crucial mistake because it kinda started the play that led to the loop

Why did orvar trigger when the copy of thermal flux targeted the coveted jewel via narset reversal? Copy is created and not cast. May i know what is missing here?

I'm surprised the Tergrid list does t have a Dictate of Erebos. Also, the wincon that you should be aiming for with Tergrid is the artifact on the back. Magus of the Coffers + Umbral Mantle= infinite mana which equals infinite activations of the artifact which will drain the table for the win

6:41 Error. Narset's reversal copies the Thermal Flux, Orvar does not trigger as the copy was not cast so he would not make a third Coveted Jewel. Sad because those 3 cards he drew from the extra Jewel found him the transmute card to win the game. Could have been a different outcome without the combo misplay.

Wouldn't Whim of Volrath change one of the medallion to reduce nonblue spells? He would need to recast whim a couple more times on medallion before jewel and then the loop would hold if he has Mana.
Mono red storm seems spicy
The results graphic isn't really accurate, it says there were 4 Coveted Jewel tokens which was only true before the loop.
I run a Coveted Jewel loop in my Aminatou deck, but it uses Mystic Sanctuary and Ghostly Flicker.
May i point out that copied spells do not trigger ovar. He only tracks casted spells and spells copied are not casted.
We are not going to talk about how at least 10 of those cards are banned.

Why does the “snow deck” have no snow cards in the opening hand. Kind of a bad sign. Furthermore, Windswept Heath isn’t in the commander’s color identity.

Only pips (mana symbols) register as part of the commander’s color identity. Land names and Color words do not.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG I guess that works. Seems like a skeezy way to cheat fetches into your deck. Should only be able to play fetches within commander color identity if you ask me.

Wait for that win, wouldnt you need to make sure that your library has a number of cards divisable by 3 left ? Since if you have 67 cards left and the last one is Thassas oracle, you dont auto win and you also cant draw again or youd lose.
His devotion is enough to leave 1-3 cards in his library before attempting the win, so it wouldn’t matter.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG With draws of 3 cards at a time, the final deck size could be 0, 1, or 2. Thassa's Oracle provides 2 devotion all on its own, so barring removal, it would always work regardless of the initial deck size even without any supporting cards for more devotion.
Having access to infinite copies of Thassa’s Oracle, which he did, also allows you to win regardless of library size.

They really worded hullbreacher that way on a blue card and are acting like they didn't say screw white entirely. Like it could have been called (Blank) Mindcensor and put in white so easily....

This is why Hullbreacher needs to be banned. It turns every wheel into an absolutely backbreaking game state. It's a stax piece that automatically breaks parity, AND a combo piece that works with every wheel ever printed (even if your opponent is casting it), AND it has Flash so it can easily avoid sorcery speed answers. Notion Thief, a comparable card, costs an extra mana, has a worse stat line, and requires you to be in two specific colors instead of just being able to go in every blue deck.
I have strong feelings about this card, obviously.
