I mean both godo and helm being 20$ and being a win con is amazing compare to what I am trying to do lol, I havent looked into prices but godo seems like the best budget deck.
I really appreciate putting these games in a video. I know a lot of cEDH content creators don't post videos that end on turns 1-3 because they are so quick. Godo never seems that good in videos because of how proactive the deck is. Anyways, good video and looking forward to the next one.
The deck can run literally every fast mana source that exists. It has no need for actual support cards because casting the commander is enough to win the game. So 55 mana sources it is!
The deck is designed to fight through that very thing though. That’s why you have memory’s journey in the deck, so you have an instant speed way of getting a few cards back into you deck.
Shame Karador didn't get a chance to shine today; It made me think though, I'd love to see a game with everyone playing OG cEDH commanders like Karador or Sharuum, if only to demonstrate just how far the format has come XD
Love your content! Right out of the gate, you guys had it right, and I was hooked. I like the abbreviated, commentary style games, and I love the power level. The odd No Blue, Plabechase, budget or Oops All Godo games are great too. Top notch content, Gents.
Merry Christmas, everyone! What a nice gift for the community. Actually very funny that everyone an a cEDH table knows that Godo wins sometimes out of nowhere, but fail to have the right interaction from preventing themselves to be trampled over by Godo's army of bisons. Sweet video!
@@dimitriosdoulgeris4659 I wasn't meaning that so much as it's hard to cast any interaction when you haven't even had a chance to get a land out yet lol

I know this is an old video, but what was the point of fetching and protecting Hermit Druid game 1 if he was just going to pass and lose without ever activating it? Especially with the EoT Lim-Dul's Vault right before it; what did he find that didn't enable a win with Hermit Druid out? I'm so confused.
I dont know if this is something that is requested, but it would be really interesting if you would show the hands that you guys mulligan as well. Like you dont have to go through all the cards, maybe just have a list of the names or something. Idk maybe Im just stupid and nobody wants this :D

Jeska's Will was absolutely the MVP here-- it allowed Godo to win once and would have been twice had it not been illegally countered by an incorrect fetch.
The issue is that they're trying to play a fast deck with a slow commander. The list they used would be better served with Tymna/Kodama as the commander pair. Karador's at his best when leaning into hatebears before comboing out. He'll never be able to outspeed turbo decks, so he needs to slow them down to his speed. He's never going to be top tier again, but he's not terrible.
The intro always says most powerful formats, plural. Have you guys ever thought about putting up the odd Legacy or Vitnage video? Maybe just once in a blue moon, so the focus stays on cEDH. I dunno, could be an interesting exercise.
I was just thinking about how Kiki combo doesn't get shown to often anymore while Godo combo pops up often. Why don't people play Kiki as their commander?
Unfortunately, they just weren't that popular. The games also took a VERY long time and were huge slogs. Probably because we all tend to play slow midrange decks and don't attack all that much. I think 40 life might be too high for the format. Just my opinion. -Mike
Folger cracking Wooded Foothills for Watery Grave was a misplay at 8:06.
Actually 😉
not misplay, it was illegal xD
@@jackrosen1 he used command beacon to add him from the command zone to his hand first

Man, I'm always impressed by how quickly the Godo deck can assemble its 11 mana combo.
The deck can run literally every fast mana source that exists. It has no need for actual support cards because casting the commander is enough to win the game. So 55 mana sources it is!
Thanks again for playing with my Godo Alter. Makes my day every time I see it on screen.
Game 2's introduction was barely shorter than the game itself. Absolutely insane.
Despite being "Winona", there's only one bird in her entire deck... I call shenanigans.
uhmmm Mindcensor?
Because in this universe she's got no balls to keep em
How does Wooded Foothills fetch Watery Grave?
It’s called “magic” for a reason.
It doesn't ahahhaa
they learned from the command zone where windswept heath can fetch mountains
LOL I quit
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed this
That last game's W felt like it was snatched from the jaws of defeat, well done!

Always fun games to watch, but I’m sad at the lack of Frog. Frog is kind of like a better version of Godo where they both rely heavily on one combo.
This was the perfect experience to resign Karador as a commander. Too fair, too slow Y.Y
I took apart my Karador years ago for the same reason.

We never made that app. You'll have to speak to its creators. I'm honestly surprised they still haven't. It's been 2 years.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG
Haha, that makes sense 😅. Oh well, someday.
Thanks for the reply, and those were some great games!
9:20 Why does opposition agent let Zack look at folgers hand when resolving vampiric Tutor?
You “control the player” as you are tutoring. As such, you can look at their hand
Since you control the player, you can look at their hand, and any face down cards they have on the battlefield.
I swear 90% of games you guys play ends with either a Godo attack or a Thassa's Oracle trigger.
I was just thinking about how Kiki combo doesn't get shown to often anymore while Godo combo pops up often.
Why don't people play Kiki as their commander?
Kiki cant fetch the other half of its combo straight from the command zone
Lack of tutors and the combo is very expensive. It's easier to just play Godo and have a 1-card wincon in the command zone.
Question for the Godo players: Why do most Godo lists not include fetchlands?
No need, opposition agent is a thing, we don’t need top deck manipulation, and the thinning is negligible.
Yo that wooded foothills was prolly the mvc for fetching the wg. Lmao
Awesome!
That 3rd game was kind of sus with what the Godo player had. Almost exact same cards as the previous opening.
