Wasn't expecting anything special when I read this run and was so surprised with how different and creative it was. Definitely one of my favorite new 52 runs.
New 52 had alot of Gems.
Who would've thought Animal Man and Swamp Thing would have not one, but two incredible, crazy, ridiculous runs each! Was hoping I wouldn't have to wait too long for this after your Swamp Thing read, what a great pair of omnis!
i got back into comics when the new 52 released and an employee at a local comic shop recommended this to me. i was blown away and can still say its one of my favorites of all time easily. the art of the rot definitely gave me some akira vibes.
This omni sounds super dope! Just convinced me to pick up Lemire's run on Animal Man. I loved Morrison's run but second guessed Lemire's run for some reason.
My favorite DC Omnibus! I wish they did more with him.
I love Jeff Lemire, but for some reason I've always had another omnibus to spend my money on. Following your video, i've just pulled the trigger on both the Animal Man omni and the Swamp thing omni too. They are coming tomorrow and I got them for £117, which according to google is around $146. Can't wait to read about the green and the red as I love Lemire, Snyder and Soule's work!

They did my man Animal Man dirty when they canceled his New 52 run. That whole Rot World series is what made me love his character as an all time favorite. They really need to give him a respectable stand alone show

Great with a superhero story that also know that a good stoaty is more than fist fighting and explotion but also the internal fight and explotion between the characters. :D
Btw do i need to read the New 52 Svamp Thing? I love his Moonknight run and want to check more of his work out and considering Animal Man. :)

Which of the 2 (animal-swamp) would be best read first? I was told to read them at the same time, 1 issue each at a time.
Yea there is a reading order for that. Although swamp Thing doesn’t have a table of contents or page numbers

Don’t think I’ve ever read an Animal Man solo story, I’ve read stories where he’s a secondary or background character. Not a character I was ever interested in.

I`ll have to re-read this. I bought the first trade of this & disliked it immensely. I think the art by Travel Foreman is what did it. I thought it was poorly drawn & stiff. A second read through might be warranted to see if my opinion still holds.
Naaa travels art really made the book for me.
