FrankenTruck Fancy Fuel Fixes... and some broken stuff

  • #FrankenTruck problems, as usual, were numerous. One problem was because I cheaped out on a part, one was not thinking about how gravity works, and one could be chocked up to "lack of preventative maintenance".
    Now I seem to have those issues worked out just in time for another problem to arise.

      I know! There's farm cats around the place, but they aren't doing their job! Actually there's no more parts to the fuel system than there was stock, they're just all external now, and adjustable, and replaceable, and bigger lol! It seems much better now, just need it to quit raining so I can go for a nice long test drive to make sure! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    This is Burning Dinosaurs on runway three one niner awaiting instructions for take off! Looks like the cockpit of a 747 with a copilot that's 2" tall! Next it's going to be 5/8
    fuel lines ! And fuel sumps on the tanks ! Its nice to have friends with trucks and trailers!

    • @burningdinosaurs
      @burningdinosaurs  4 года назад

      LOL! Yeah, about right! I need to throw my copilot out from about 10,000ft... or 100mph! Hopefully those extra gauges will get integrated into the stock cluster somehow so it will look stock-ish with nothing hanging off the column. If this fuel supply setup proves out, I think it'll be a long time before I need to do anymore upgrades! So far it's been pretty good, just need it to quit raining so I can go on a nice long test drive.

    So that pressure regulator acts like an aneroid valve? Cool! Maybe connect a CO2 cartridge with a check valve so you can momentarily trick the fuel regulator into a full boost situation at an idle, for those times you really need to roll coal!
    My youtube is on youtube... I'm sure a black hole is opening up somewhere between Iowa and Michigan. LOL

    • @burningdinosaurs
      @burningdinosaurs  4 года назад +1

      Yeah, kind of! Yeah, Probably could! I'm actually going to have onboard air for some rear airbags (another video), so I could probably hook a solenoid up to that and the already-existing full-throttle switch to max out the regulator.... dang it! now more doo-dads to work on! lol!
      So, if you watch my video, that has your video in it, and you took a video of you watching it... I think the universe would implode.

    I have been I wondering how your fuel system was going to work out so I will be interested to see how it works out for you now and I hope it proves out well.. If not let me know and save up your $$ I have a setup off a cummins pulling truck that would make franken truck move very easy lol for about 3800 $ on a p pump 13 mm barrels and plungers with 025 delivery valves and 5000 rpm springs at 20 degrees time would land you 850- 1200 horse lol with a min injector of 5x.018

    • @burningdinosaurs
      @burningdinosaurs  4 года назад

      Some day, AJ! I do plan on upgrading injectors, turbo, delivery valves, etc... MAYBE a pump, but I'm trying to max out what I have now, and that way I'll have a good base to build on later. It seems to build pressure MUCH faster now, and holding pressure better after it's warm too. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Maybe you are making it too complicated???
    Just saying...

    • @burningdinosaurs
      @burningdinosaurs  4 года назад +1

      Yeah, it does seem overly complicated, I agree. The stock fuel system just wasn't keeping up and was getting air in it somewhere, so if you watch my videos from last summer, you see I went from stock pump, to in-tank, to better in-tank, to this 6LPSD pump, and it's just been quite the hunt trying to keep fuel supplied to this thing! And, honestly, if I were to do it all over again (for the 500th time), I'd still do it differently than how I've got it now lol! I'm just a tinkerer like that, always trying to figure out a way to make something better, even if it's "good enough". Anyway, now it's time for a test drive! Thanks for watching and commenting!
      Hey, did you make 1000 subs yet?

    • @GosselinFarmsEdGosselin
      @GosselinFarmsEdGosselin 4 года назад +1

      @@burningdinosaurs ya.. seen them, tracking down air leaks is a pain! I e had cracked filter housing do it, you don't find it unless yo put a lot of pressure to it.. funny how they suck air in at low or no pressure, but don't leak under pressure..
