    necessity is the mother of all great inventions...tractor on trailer, loader bucket up and the only thing missing was an extension ladder in the bucket!

    It is great that you designed your own trusses, very cool. Great idea to put the tractor on the trailer to get the additional height, it is just the kind of thing we would do. Thanks for sharing and take care

    Hey, a Burning Dinosaurs Video!!!!!
    Put heaters in the roof, no snow load issues then👍👌
    Looks good!! Nothing wrong with home made trusses, just gotta figure what you need and make them all the same. We made the first truss for our shop, then dad and I went somewhere and bought some equipment, while the hired man at the time built the rest... Just lay everything out on the original.

    • @burningdinosaurs
      @burningdinosaurs  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, right on! Just can't make myself pay someone for something I can do myself. Even when it doesn't make sense lol! Yeah, I built the first as a prototype, took measurements, built the 2nd one, and kept laying the next ones on top of that.

    Always good to have some help!!

    I put a lot of wood up on my cousins garage with my skid steer with a boom pole chained to the bucket and a gravity wagon worked great to work off the deck on top of it to put sheeting up on the roof ! Stick a pallet of shingles on top of the wagon with the fork lift and pulled it right along side of the building with his little IH tractor. Hay you got to do what you got to do to get the job done even if its a little sketchy ! Bandit

    • @burningdinosaurs
      @burningdinosaurs  3 года назад

      Exactly! Get the job done, sketchy or not. And it feels good to have it done... and have done it myself! The wagon is a good idea for a platform! I don't have any here, but there's one back home I've been wanting to bring up here and that would be another good reason! Thanks for watching and commenting, Bandit!

    • @banditfarmer1900
      @banditfarmer1900 3 года назад

      @@burningdinosaurs There so many more uses for a gravity wagon other than hauling grain ! They make great work platforms when you need to get up high off the ground to work, Work great for trimming limbs off trees too ! We put 4 together one time to put a roof on a house , Any nails that came off the roof fell into the wagons and when we got done there was about 4 pounds of roofing nails in the beds ! LOL I hate being on ladders trying to do something but if I can work off a platform I'm a happy camper ! Years ago at work we had to paint one of the buildings and after the first day I was tired of the ladders, I hauled one of my gravity wagons to work and we built a platform for it and use it to paint off it and boy did we get a lot done quick ! When we were done we painted the wagon there at work and I got paid to do it ! LOL WIN WIN for me , Not only did I make the job easer to do for all of us I got free paint and got paid to paint it with really good paint and ended up with a really good looking wagon too ! I got a lot of weird looks from people hauling it back home threw city traffic !!!!! Bandit

    Sketchy? Apparently you haven’t watched Ozark Hillbillies build a barn. Recycled tin that’s rusted so thin you can’t walk on it... no problem... put the rusty side down!
    Too hard to straighten out all those roofing nails... not a problem... just toss a few old tires on the roof to hold it in place.
    Boards too short to span the roof... what’s the problem... just cut ya off a cedar tree and prop it up. (If ya leave a few limb stubs sticking out, you have a coat rack!)
    Corner post bowed... no problems either... you’ve been saving rusty washers for years. Use them for shims!
    In the end, it’ll be the envy or the neighborhood. Just as soon as you get the first batch from the still!!!
    To some of us... your build looks a little hoity-toity!!!! 🤓
