    It's nice that they have horns that give you a great handle to hold.

    I think they're super cute. Lol! But I could see how shaving around the face could be a pain.

    Talk about back breaking work ! Wow great work. Seems like a small stool that you could sit on would help no?

    At what age do the lambs get shorn for the first time?

    • @shearingschool
      @shearingschool  3 года назад

      Depends on climate etc. But you can shear lambs any age once you feel the wool is long enough that it’s worth while

    Surprised to see you shearing in the straw. Not keeping the fleece?

    • @shearingschool
      @shearingschool  3 года назад +1

      Don’t think they were worried about the fleece or they would have swept the straw away.

    The lamb wanting a drink was interesting. Obviously very scared of people ...

      When they‘re this young, valais blacknose tend to be a bit hesitant of people, but that usually goes away quite fast. They‘re basically big, woolly dogs with horns.

    Well.. that didn't take long for Frank to go from cute to fugly in a matter of minutes.. Poor thing. Don't show him a mirror!. I came here from Worms Eye View and Ewe Talk, where they have 2 adult and 2 baby Valais Blacknose sheep, and they are the cutest !.

    Old Frank keeps behaving like that, I’d let him keep his fleece,

    You might be getting the job done but those sheep are NOT relaxed with you at all!

    • @shearingschool
      @shearingschool  3 года назад +2

      Your right they are not relaxed this is what happens with some sheep they are herbivores so it’s natural for them to try and escape.
