Great video, James! As someone who is about to graduate with a doctorate in Audiology (the science of hearing and balance) your ears don't really "wear out" from listening to music/content over headphones unless you exceed a safe listening volume. A good rule of thumb is 50% volume for no more than 50 minutes without giving your ears a rest. Time and intensity are the two key factors when it comes to noise-induced hearing loss (hearing loss from sustained exposure to loud sounds). If you listen at a moderate volume for not too long, your ears will be just fine. Wear earplugs or muffs around hazardously loud sounds (firearms, powertools, concerts), eat a healthy diet, and exercise and you can preserve your hearing as you age. Always a good idea to have your hearing evaluated by an audiologist around every 1-3 years to keep track of it though! Keep up the great work!

As an Android App Developer, I can confirm you do need Location Access permission to discover other devices via Bluetooth, and/or to alter the device's discoverability. This is because Bluetooth can be used to estimate the device's position in certain places where Bluetooth Beacons are setup.
Also, your earing doesn't "wear out" by use, it either degrades over time (because of natural aging), or gets damaged by abuse (excessive loudness). You won't end up with "uneven hearing" by using only one ear to listen to music, unless you're exposing that ear to unsafe levels of volume.

I bought a set and really love using them, they’re the only earbuds that remain comfortably in your ears for longer time. I have other Bose products and didn’t want the Sony or apple equivalents because I’d miss the warm sound of the bass and the clear classical instruments.
Also, if anyone cares, noise control doesn’t block crying babies, at all. And the sounds like putting metal objects like cutlery in a drawer screws up the NC and gives cracking sound.
When NC is off you can keep them in and still have normal conversations.
Other then that I love them, was indeed waiting some years for this.
For a half of a second i thought James was talking to me directly. "mindfreak", ok im a little stoned.
Let's just appreciate a man of culture here...before we pine away
"I know a lot of people don't listen to metal"
*Excuse me?*

Not at all surprised that James is a Tool fan
linus is the best
I bought the QC earbuds and returned them 2days later for the Sony wf-1000xm3(worth every penny), I agree with everything mentioned in the video, but I can say the sound quality on my Sony earbuds and Over the ear wh-1000xm4 are more consistent to each other than the Bose N700 and QC earbuds, over the ear N700 was perfect and you appreciate the price for what you get, the Bose QC earbuds sound (music and call) it's like they should be priced at 199, but you decide
Location services with a headphone companion app? No thanks chief.
When an Android app need access to bluetooth, it needs to ask for location permission. That's because it could be used with bluetooth beacons to locates you, but in most of the case it is just confusing for the end user.
I saw Soundcore liberty 2 pro in your paired devices. Did I miss that review? I have those and wish you guys would review them.
Your mom
Wait it took a whole extra second to pause when you pulled it out of your ear and it magically knew to stop playing the music? My god the humanity.... Those basssstards
First here
GG
I shall not police you
You are genuine
Now technically the pinned comment was first but that doesn't count early access
Cool
At 7:57 This isn't a bluetooth limitation, my Jabra 85t and 75t pause right when the earbud leaves my ear.
the location is a roll over feature from their other app that can find your earbud if you lost them.
Loved the explanation at the end. Is James an engineer?
Love the note on the back of the slate.
The libery 2 pro's you had in your bluetooth page already cut maybe 50% of noise passively and sound pretty great, especially with some EQ. Think I paid like $100 cad for them.
Location access is for bluetooth low energy (BLE), which I presume is what bose is using to pair.
