I love Borderline musically, but the lyrics are so casually flippant with real mental illnesses. The song was bad enough, but the music video took the insensitivity to a whole other level. I'm a Brandy fan since Thea, I just wish someone on her team would have advised her against those particular choices.

Good idea! You can definitely tell that Tyler Perry loves good music and great singers and is a music connoisseur based on the musical talent he hires for his plays and movies.
Brandy’s voice is just the best. Other than Whitney, she is THE BEST! It’s nuanced. It’s unique. But so so soulful, so technically complex. So beautiful.

I want to see her dad teaching her and some of the vocal trainings he stylized.
Her dad use to coach the choir at the church I went to in Mississippi when I lived there. We sang acapella and he would help them get ready for singing competitions. He was so amazing! He was showing us pictures of baby Syrai one day lol. I live in Texas now though.This was back in early 2000s.

Brandy is freaking fascinating and mystical. A lot of people don’t know she started stacking vocals and people followed her lead. Her and Lashawn(rip) we’re like butter together. Even her higher range which is not as strong, is still nice to hear. She places those runs perfectly and never over does it. Oh my gosh can you please do more of her performances. She was my soundtrack for years. Listen to when you touch me on full moon and tell me that isn’t perfection.

I love this reaction video from a vocal teacher cos it just really shows how Brandy is *the* vocal Bible! You just can’t watch a Brandy performance without stopping every 2 seconds! You never know what she’s gonna do next! Her tone, breath control, vocal agility and runs! Brandy is just uniquely gifted!
