I can’t count the amount of times I’ve watched this performance. Faith’s voice has seasoned sooo well. She’s so underrated

Her word pronunciation is off the chain, she's one of my favorites for that. That church background gives way to that emotional factor in her singing. I love her!!
Her sound goes with the music. Sometimes it's not about big crazy notes. The emotion, technical ability brought the beauty to those records. She's unmatched.
This was one of her best performances....her sound check was on point.
Someone said it recently but R&B just hasn't been the same since we took the church out of it! We have a few girls still, but the color and character you learn from church singing produced gems like Faith! Her voice cuts through so many we hear today because its so unique and anointed.
It's true. Most of the singers from back in the day came from the church, sang in the choir. When people stopped going to church, you saw the talent dwindle.
Absolutely agree! Growing up singing in church gives the voice depth, range, color, character, & emotion. Some argue this, but I also think if done PROPERLY, it gives us a strength and longevity to sing without getting tired so fast.
Karen Clark Sheard is one of her vocals heroes. I don't know if yall have heard the duet with Karen on Karen's first solo project. ❤

I love Faith Evans voice. She can go from a whisper to a growl in seconds. So underrated.
Her first album is a CLASSIC, top to bottom! She's one of my faves for sure! Love me some Faith 🤍
She sounded ahhhhhmazing here.. but that bridge!!! SHE KILLED IT!!! And lets not forget how she murdered on the Masked Singer. Even with a huskier and and raspier sound. I'll admit, while I loved her music and her unique voice back in the day, I think I slept on her vocally because I just hadn't seen much of her live. But this performance opened my eyes FULLY and then to see how she bodied TMS. Sheesh!

The first time my ears perked up to the Karen Clark-Sheard influence in her voice was on "Kissing You" from the _Waiting to Exhale Soundtrack._

NOT ON THE BEST DAY OF HER LIFE, RESPECTFULLY. SHE'S MORE TALENTED VOCALLY THAN MARY. AND A DECENT WRITER, BUT THERE ARE LEVELS. MARY IS A STAR. THERE'S TANGIBLES AND INTANGIBLES. FAITH HAS LOOKED UNCOMFORTABLE AND AWKWARD ON STAGE FOR OVER 25 YRS. SHE DOESN'T COMMAND AND LACKS PRESENCE. SHE STRUGGLED WITH HER WEIGHT AND NEVER OWNED IT. ALL THESE THINGS PLUS MORE WILL NEVER ALLOW HER TO BE ON THE LEVEL OF SOMEONE LIKE MJB, RESPECTFULLY.
@@lexgraham2118 Faith will never ever be better than Mary vocally dummy. Mary is a real singer that can sing ANY genre. Faith voice is very basic. You can go to any local church and hear someone singing like Faith.

IMO Faith has always had the VOICE and she still sounds AMAZING. Faith is my favorite r&b singer from the 90s! Way too underrated...
