flying into OSHKOSH

- Today we take the Bonanza into the world's busiest airport, Oshkosh, for my very first (!!) EAA AirVenture 2021. After taking off out of Ann Arbor, we fly west along the Lake Michigan shoreline, get a stellar view of the Chicago skyline from the air, stop for fuel in Kenosha, then fly the one-and-only Fisk Arrival into Oshkosh. Already looking forward to flying in next year!

As someone who knows nothing about aviation, I love how you're basically taking a road trip in a plane with your friend. It's just so cool to me

This is what flying is all about. Two mates having fun, working as a team but totally professional.
Giving the lady a friendly "goodmorning" is a positive way to acknowledge and treat a person doing a repeated task politely. Nicely done. Also, good energy
nope, it was a dig that she didnt say goodmorning first :D
My favorite thing about your videos is that you never stop speaking what you're doing, no matter the presence of a copilot or not. Never stop doing that. Aspiring airline pilots of tomorrow are growing up on videos like this, and you're setting a great example.
It was also fun to notice your copilot go from what I thought was just a passenger, to someone you'd hand the yoke to, to realizing that actually she's done this before and indeed you're utilizing that experience. The CRM looked excellent and I'm so glad that videos like this exist for the benefit of us all.
I'm dropping a fat dump and reading your comment brother
Love love love watching young women so skilled and confident, flying into Oshkosh, one of the most notoriously chaotic and high pressure approaches, and doing it all as cool as cucumbers, having fun, and absolutely professionally. Like a boss. ;-)
Into LAX airspace with surrounding municipal airports like HHR is pretty chaotic.
Chaotic? With a control tower in operation? Not hardly. Chaotic is flying into a busy uncontrolled airport. Love the V-tail Bonanza and good flying ladies.
High pressure approach? Lol. You have no idea what a high pressure approach is. And thus ain’t it.
Was thinking the same thing. I know lots of very experienced pilots who struggle with ridiculously busy airspace like this. There’s a lot to keep track of. And to top it off, she’s got a relatively fast and complex aircraft with retractable gear and constant speed prop.
@@c208driver6 Well heil go and land at Chicago O'Hare or Cambridge in England on a Sunday afternoon..with Uni Air Squadron, private flyers, and flight schools..
OK, I'm officially impressed AF. Flying through all that intense cross country crowded airspace and into Oshkosh would be stressful for most small plane pilots but she handles it like a Sunday stroll in the park. To top it off she's developed this level of professionalism after flying for only three years! Next goal: ATP by this time next year?
She's just flying through the checklists! Impressive.
I still remember the first time I flew into Oshkosh with my dad as a kid. It was one of the most organized chaotic events I've ever witnessed. Fantastic!
@Majoy Tom, even for spectators, AirVenture is so amazingly organized for such a large scale event.
I have daughters. They’re four. We need more of this so when they’re a little older they can appreciate this kind of terrific content. Cheers!
Best words my dad always told me: you can be and do anything you want to (he never mentioned being a female would restrict me in any way) 😉 he was right: I’ve done all sorts of stuff that “women don’t do”! Keep encouraging those girls of yours verbally reminding them that being female doesn’t mean they can’t….they can!
Same man, I have a 3 year old daughter and seeing videos like this makes me excited for her endless possibilities.
The day we can just appreciate what someone is doing without noticing that it's a woman or a man is when I know we have made it. Speaking from a woman's perspective in a so-called man's field...I'm an aerospace engineer
yes, nice direction and motivation, even if they choose something else, it can still inject some energy for goals
Thank you so much for leaving all the small things like the checklists and such in the video!! I loved it from a student pilot POV. It was entertaining and educational at the same time! Keep up the great content!
I’m training at C65 25NM south of KSBN and it was so cool to hear you talking with south bend appch!
@@michaelberg453 Hey, neighbor. 🙂 (Goshen)
This is the best part.
Agreed! Shows good competence
This was such a refreshing example of excellent flying, radio work, CRM. Thanks for being safe pilots and looked like a fun trip.
I love this. It is such a good feeling to see these two young ladies enjoying flying. It makes my heart smile!
You make it seem so easy and effortless while you are flying through bazillion checks while also literally flying like a perfectionist. Great job! Wonderful job on the video editing part as well.
After a year, she’s back on that RUclips grind, let’s GOOOOO 🔥🔥
let's hope it doesn't take me a year to post another video after this one HAHA
LETSSS GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
I hope to see you two guys fly so skilled like those girls someday 👍🏼 . I could watch them fly all day long .. 👏🏻

Great to see you on RUclips!!! Enjoyed the video a lot. Oshkosh AirVenture was amazing and definitely enjoyed seeing you there. Looking forward to more great content on your channel.
Great video! My son and I flew the Chicago skyline a day or so before you, also in a V-Tail. We had slower traffic in front of us and had to go with flaps to stay slow enough. Your comment on easier to maintain 90kts with the gear down is so true. V-Tails are awesome! Y'all have amazing radio work, knowledge, and flows. Perfect example of professional flying.
Great job of flying and feedback by each other. Your editing felt like we were right there flying with You! Well Done !!!! Hope you enjoyed Oshkosh.
One of the best OSH flights I've seen, you two are an awesome team!
You have wonderful, zen filled aviation vids! Please keep making them! The manner and ability that you speak to ATC is inspirational and educational, and also quite relaxing and pleasant to listen to! Also, your partner for this vid was great! Keep it up!!!
"This plane is stressing me out, they're right behind us." ... "There's multiple planes." Welcome to Oskhosh!!! :)
So amazing to see young girls having fun, and being so competent on flying. I´ve never been in this event, but I have some friends that fly from Brazil to there in a RV6 and RV9 .
I've flown that arrival several times over the past years, and that was very well done.. Nice job!
THAT.... was AWESOME!! Good job! I haven't piloted an airplane in about 20 years. This was really nice to see. You are a pro!
Please post more! this is a blast. I have friends that used to own a bonanza and another who had a grass airstrip. These are bringing back some nostalgic vibes. ❤
This deserves more views. Oshkosh is a chaotic approach and you both made it seem like a cake walk. Great video.
Really learning a lot listening to your radio calls. I love that you are friendly and polite. Don't hear much of that very often. Radio communication is intimidating enough for a new pilot with all the attitude, in my opinion.
That was one of the better presentations I've seen. Very well done.
I have always wanted to fly into Oshkosh so I seem to watch every video of people doing it to try to prepare for doing it myself one day. I think bringing a second pilot and especially one that has done the trip before is absolutely the best case scenario. You guys made it look like a piece of cake. Thanks for the video.
"Welcome to Oshkosh!" Well done ladies. Great series of videos. About 40-odd years ago(!) -- long before cell phones, GPS and ADS-B -- I dead-reckoned my way from Fair Oaks, CA to the Watsonville (WVI) fly-in on a beautiful May morning. Nothing like Oshkosh, but still quite an adventure for a then-17-year old! Apart from the day's flying demonstrations, antiques and homebuilts, and the camaraderie of the other fly-in participants, what I remember most was the temporary tower's instruction (instead of orange dot/green dot): "Cessna on short final, land on the left side of the runway; Mooney behind the Cessna, land on the right!" Compared to my home field, that runway was huge!
Stevie you make Comms and airspace seem easy when it's not. Then you greased the only thing pilots are judged on....the landing! Your inspiring me to get back into the air!
This vlog makes me even more excited to start flight school. I’m so giddy for my start date. Thanks for filming this!
Welcome to Oshkosh! It’s fantastic seeing my city in videos like these. Thank you!
And she is back....great work. Great to see you back Stevie. Hope you've been well. Another good flight. Cheers from Australia.
Love it ladies! You two are super professional and will do great things! Great job!
LOL at all the frequency changes during the flight following and then the whole thing with the other aircraft trying to get theirs
back. That was hilarious. I love the camera angles as well, how they highlight different aspects of the flight. Fantastic video,
it shows how much fun you can have flying while staying safe at the same time. This is what flight is all about. Having fun.
Ladie's ,you handled that so professionally and smooth, very well done!
Absolutely loved every minute of this video, Thank You Stevie
This video was so awesome ..didn’t want it to end 🤩 thanks Stevie for sharing and the views of Chicago were a bonus …I used to occasionally fly a bonanza v-tail in the army …great plane and fun to fly..
You two are a great team! This was cool.
Steller job!! Love the clear radio work. That was always my favorite part of flying.
OK that was really cool to watch you two coming into Oshkosh. I've only seen a couple of your videos but your focus, communication, and attention to detail are really impressive. I always learn something watching/listening to good pilots.
Great team, great prep, great use of terrain and I’m sure a great Osh Kosh time. Thanks for the video.
Awesome video, you guys crushed it. Chicago skyline part was epic.
Awsome video Stevie! thank you for sharing the great experience you had!
You two did awesome! Great team! Hope you had fun at Oshkosh.
Awesome job! Great radio skills and overall piloting! You two work great together!
I remember many times rolling out and running up just as the Tower was opening. In Tucson, we were always looking for the overnight low temperature to get off the ground with 4 on board. We have so many wonderful shared memories of flying all over the place for weekend trips and whatnot over the years. My last plane was a B55 Baron and I loved it so much but I would have loved to fly yours for sure. She is a beauty. Happy trails.
Love your videos. Your positive attitude + cool music = good vibes. You've inspired me to learn to fly - a long overdue dream of mine.

Awesome video! I’m glad I found you here. I flew into Oshkosh for the air show in 1993. Was an amazing, fun and educational experience. I use to fly out of AnnArbor and your videos bring back great memories. Stay safe!!!
The ATC traffic is so helpful for me as a new student pilot. Thank you!
Awesome video - so nice to hear all the ATC communication! Well done!
Amazing videos, I definitely learned a thing or two from watching and was entertained, too! I hope your channel keeps growing!
Great video. Hope you had a great time in Oshkosh. I've lived in the area my whole life and while the traffic sucks for the locals during AirVenture, it's still a good time.
From a guy who has been flying 45 years, this is an impeccable example of radio work! Y’all need to train You-tuber Valerie in N1879L on how to speak concisely with ATC! Also, you did a great job of airwomanship!
@@V1AbortV2 it's only cause its a hot chick lmao
You’re not wrong.. I’m a ham operator and her readbacks were amazing.
The "have a good one" was driving me nuts. You're just taking up time that someone else could be talking. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to get a radio call in and someone's been adding unnecessarily to their own calls.
@@grante8 must be on your cb radio,, because this is pretty standard in the aviation community. Good day, take care, good morning, etc are common phrases.

Great job Girls so proud of you two.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who forgets who I’m talking to and just says “approach” 😂
That was very good! My mom was a pilot at your age in the mid-1950's and I still have her Sectional Charts! I used to live in Oshkosh and worked as an ultrasound technologist at Theda-Clark Hospital in Neenah 2008-9.
I began training to fly at age fifteen and when I entered high school, I was an outcast because of it. No one else cared for flying, especially the ladies. I was normal but considered a flying nerd. How refreshing to see these two young ladies and how confident and professional. Where were you then?
The present is always as nice as you pack it haha

Unbelievable, flying is the coolest thing. I am nineteen, hopefully I'll ever get my PPL
thats crazy to me i would find it so attractive if a guy could fly a plane. it shows intelligence, confidence, ambition, and that you're adventurous.
@@papernecklace I'm 19 and I'm gonna go to school to become a pilot, hopefully it works out for me, it's gonna be a lot of hard work but I know I'll do my best
Loved this video and watching the two of you coordinate the flight together!
Awesome video! I love flying the V-tail Bonanza. Wonderful airplane, and 21C is absolutely gorgeous! Keep up the great work!
Insane amount of traffic at Oshkosh during this event. Hats off to ATC and all the volunteers that make this happen.
You’re an inspiration to my wife and kids. Awesome channel! Love the vtail!
Great vids. You guys are so professional but still make it look so much fun.
Happy that you were able to make it to Oshkosh this year!!! I live in Green Lake and absolutely LOVE watching the traffic going to EAA!! I hope you both had a wonderful time....
Nice first arrival at Osh and great teamwork ..
i just moved 30 minutes away from Oshkosh and hadn’t heard of EAA until this year, so cool to see this!
So happy I was recommended this video. Welcome back to the skies. You have a new follower for life. Clear Skies and Safe Landings Captain!
Thank you for sharing that adventure. Great video!
Very professional flying. Really enjoyed the whole video.
Great video, great flying, I love how the steering controls can move from one pilot to the other, I wish my car could do that :) plus the v shaped tv antenna on top is a plus:)
I saw many of the fly ins (I live and work near EAA), but never knew what they entailed for all of the aviatiors, so this was really cool to watch!
I’m glad you filmed how the V-tail Bonanza switches pilot duties and that unique yolk. I always thought that was an interesting aspect of that aircraft.
When attending Airventure, I've watched a lot of planes land but this is the first time I saw a landing from inside the cockpit. Nice smooth flying! I would have freaked out with all those planes around me! LOL!
This video on TikTok completely sparked my interest I’m glad I found it here! I’m hoping to start my journey into getting my license this week! Cheers from TX!
Very impressive! Excellent video and editing!
More of these please!!! You girls are awesome!
This is so awesome. I would love to go to EAA but as a low time pilot I don't have the confidence. You two were fun to watch!
The TikTok legend is back to takeover RUclips! Awesome video Stevie.
Haha! Thank you Max!
Literally was about to say this, I'm like the TikTok/RUclips algorithm is kicking ass harder than an Oshkosh controller when a pilot doesn't comply

I really enjoyed this. You both have very lively personalities, but as soon as you're on the mic it's business. How you can switch that fast and smooth is neat!
Well done with the preparation, communication, and checklists.
