As a kid born in the early 2000s in philly I grew up watching this man play the game right for my entire life, with hustle and grit, which is somewhat of a lost art in today’s game, but the way he played at 110% every game and play is what made him my hero. I miss watching this man play and wish him a happy retirement 🙏🙏🙏
I have been fortunate enough to be alive for the Phillies two greatest eras. I grew up and fell in love with baseball in the late 70’s watching our greatest player, Schmidt, along with Bowa, the Bull, Bake, our best pitcher ever Lefty (possible exception of Alexander), Booney and all of those. Then when we picked up one of our best free agents ever that helped turn us into serious contenders, Jim Thome. And watching his replacement, Howard along with Utley, Rollins, Werth, Victorino, the great signings by Gillick that put us over the top. Those teams earned their postseason slot. They didn’t need mlb to add a bogus extra slot.
2022- Phillies were 15 games over .500 in games bryce harper did not play. Look it up, every season he has been a Phillie the Phillies have a better record in games he doesn’t play. And how about that .200 World Series average!! And no crap about the playoffs. All of the Phillies were hitting not just me. Overrated
People say that Philly fans are the worst in sports in genral but what fans do you know give a standing ovation to the person on the other team that hits a home run
5:11 I was at this game. There were two outs in this inning and Gee was pitching. He proceeded to walk and hit batters until the bases were loaded, bringing up Chase. Lengthy at bat. Fouled off a ton of pitches. I lost my shit when he mashed it into the upper deck. Was standing just above field level on my way out of the stadium. The place went silent when he made contact. One highlight I wish was on here would be in 2007, at home against the Reds. Another game I was at. Chase hit two home runs in his first two at bats off Matt Belisle on 3-0 counts. The same fan caught both home runs. It was incredible. This was the game that went 14 innings in the rain when Jimmy Rollins hit a wall off double. The stadium shook. Fantastic compilation of vids, though.
I was at that walkoff game versus the Padres (2:45) in 2005 where Chase homered off Paul Quantrill. Had never seen a video of it before but that homer in the 11th inning landed just past the bleacher area my friend and I were sitting in, I need to see if I can find much younger me in there. Was my first game at CBP after many at the Vet.
@@scottp1001 nice. In his walkoff vid against the padres you were mentioning, I couldn’t ever see where the ball actually landed, whether it was in the field level seats or the second deck
Some of his greatest plays were defensive plays. I’m the NLCS against the dodgers. The man was just ahead of the other guys mentally. He always was a step in front of the rest. I was at game one of the 08 World Series. Tampa looked like a team of destiny. Being born in 85 I had never been alive for a championship, in any sport. I loved that Phillies team but when you suffer that much heartbreak you feel like something will ruin it. A bad break. An injury. A bad call at the worst moment. A RAIN DELAY SITUATION THAT MADE THE MOB CHANGE RULES MID-SERIES. Something like that. And then chase utley hit that home run in his first at bat. I looked at my buddy and said “we’re gonna win the World Series dude. We’re not fucking losing”. He was such a stud. When we traded him it was the hardest sports fan day of my life.
🐐
world champions. world fucking champions.
Stone cold killer.

Harry kalas YOU ARE THE MAN!
Us Phillies fans were SPOILED from 2007-2012
Good times are back
People say that Philly fans are the worst in sports in genral but what fans do you know give a standing ovation to the person on the other team that hits a home run
loyalty
Alot of teams do
Philly fans are just misunderstood. I think last years playoffs really showcased who we actually are.
Named after this man
Missing the World Series game 5 deke play. Otherwise great
He was indeed THE MAN watched damn near his whole career 🥺

@@scottp1001 nice. On the replay I can’t even see the ball land anywhere. Haha
Whoever disliked this, are you a Mets fan??
Chase utley is so ridiculously disrespected it’s funny
Only in NEW YORK

God I miss Harry Kalas. My childhood will officially end when Merrill Reese no longer calls games for the Iggles.
when Merrill Reese dies, it'll be a sad day. Two philly legends in heaven will be sad to think about.
Great song, but really, really annoying!! When you put music over Kalas, you're always wrong, amigo......
Chase Utley had more big time hits against the Mets alone than bryce most overrated of all time harper has had in his career.
Keep talking bud bryce is one of the most underrated players of all time. And I love chase Utley btw. He is my favorite phillie ever
Revisit this comment dickwad. Chase is my guy, Bryce is right behind him
You sound bitter and stupid
@@westonburkholder1847Bryce Harper is very impressed with Bryce Harper. Like a woman. Can’t wait til he leaves.
KeEp TaLkiNg BuD.
Not fair

Chase Utley doesn’t deserve to have the same nickname as Stan Musial
