Some hitters just have tendencies as to where they hit. Often times hitters favor a certain side of the field.

@@alfrankensteinfeldman You're so close, yet so far. It's not that players favor one side of the field over another. It all has to do with the dominant hand. When a right handed batter like Castellanos swings, the follow through points towards left field (and vice versa for left handed batters). Based on the timing of the swing he is more likely then not to hit towards left field. In an instance where he's late he's more likely to get the end of the bat on the ball and so that would lead it toward center or even right field.

@@poocrafter2 yes, batters typically are usually more likely to pull the ball to their side of the field of their batter's box by swinging early.
it has nothing to do with which is your dominant hand though, and yes, batters do in fact favor certain parts of the field over another. pull hitters tend to swing earlier on purpose to pull the ball (sluggers usually are pull hitters as it is easier to hit the ball further by pulling), and wide-angle hitters or dead-oppo batters are able to create more hits by swinging late and poking the ball to the opposite side of the field

I’m never really considered myself to be a baseball fan. I enjoy going to a live baseball game every once in a while, but I can’t seem to force myself to watch a game on TV. The game just feels like it develops way too slow for my liking as there’s a drive into deep left field by Castellanos. It will be a home run, and so that’ll make it a 4-0 ballgame.
