    These were on clearance again, $6.99 a box at PSA. To me, these are like the non nickel plated Sig Sauer V-Crowns JHPs. I found those for around $0.35 a round and they perform relatively well but not as good a Speer 124 +P JHP Gold Dots or even 115-135 grain Critical Defense/Dutys at $1+ a round.
    The difference is you can actually practice with this JHP like the Sig V-Crowns I also use. It may not perform the absolute best compared to others on the market BUT you can actually buy a lot and see how reliable they are.

    I've seen these preform just fine in gel out of a 3" barrel, so these rounds still function at 1,100fps. As regards to the depth of penetration, I'd say 10.5" is decent considering how large it expands. This is a load that doesn't fill every role, just know what you're looking for out of your defensive ammo.

    • @jamesb3092
      @jamesb3092 2 года назад +6

      Agreed 100%. My recommendation for penetration is, do not buy light rounds and expect 16+” of penetration. Of course there’s some exceptions to this, like the Liberty Civil Defense 50 Gr ammo but that ammo is >2000 fps. As he said, there’s no single ammo that checks all the boxes, any self defense round is better than carrying fmj though. 👍

    Thnx 4 sharing!👍 Did u get these local or OL & where please? At 45cents/rnd for MHP..that's a good deal. I've seen valid impressive reviews of it expanding fully in BG at 10"-12" from a 4" barrel.
    I usually don't care where ammo is made (for crying out loud people were stocking up on Russian steel case ammo) as long as it works. So decent rnds from Hungary instead of Sweden does not bother me in the least. Also most speeds listed on the box are at optimal barrel lengths...Alot use Rifle length projection speeds & not 6" pistol barrel lengths..so that's not a prob.

Both brand name Glock magazines, as well as my stock SCCY magazines both have issues with the extra length of these rounds. I did, however, have success with my single stack 10 round Glock magazines. • @NortheastSurvival911
      @NortheastSurvival911 Год назад +3

      It works better than this guy is saying. I'm using this ammo out of a full-size Beretta 92fs what I've done my own testing. Ballistics gelatin barrier testing and yeah it doesn't expand when it goes through fucking barriers.. but when it hit something soft and fleshy you know like a person... This opens up unlike any hollow-point I've ever seen. And it cuts very nicely as it goes through. It doesn't over-penetrate and because they are 180 grain... You have reduced recoil and whatever it is you're firing it out of.
      I missed the part where this guy actually backed up a single thing that he said. Oh yeah he didn't. That's right. You just decide to take a whole bunch of time to complain about something he didn't fucking test on his own.
      It's your money spend it however you want to. But I'm telling you right now this works great out of things other than carbines. You don't need a long-ass barrel to get decent performance. My buddy was firing these out of a small Glock. Still coming in at over 1,100 feet per second fully expanding every time maintaining ninety-nine per-cent of its weight one hundred percent of the time.

    This isn't an informative video and you contradict yourself on multiple levels. I could type out a whole list, but instead I'll summarize it with a couple of points:
    1. You tell people to beware of flashy ammunition then tell them to maybe buy Federal HST's.
    2. You say in the video that the ammunition is consistent, then proceed to immediately say it isn't in your video's description.
    3. You never provide evidence of your claims, such as watching testing videos made by an unnamed individual, or that the round functions like an FMJ round.
    4. An item on clearance does NOT mean the item is flawed. This is especially the case for something such as specialized ammunition, when ammunition manufacturers spread out their catalog/production.
    5. NORMA is a Swedish company, but a great deal of their ammunition production is outsourced to other European countries. For example, NORMA's brass, range 7.62x39mm FMJ is made in Germany. Saying that NORMA ammunition made in Hungary is worth questioning is paramount to me saying that Remington ammunition is worth questioning because it isn't actually Remington making it (since they were entirely bought out). It's just a brand.
    6. The box says "Dedicated Home Defense". This round can be used for EDC and is valid for doing so in the proper magazine sizes/barrel lengths. HOWEVER, it is not advertised for EDC, so I don't know why you're expecting it to suit everyone's EDC needs.

Perfect expansion every time they blow through barriers like it's nothing. Yeah they don't open up like a flower going through windshield wood or anyting else.. but when they hit anything flashy they open up perfectly every time and they maintain almost one hundred percent of the weight one hundred percent of the time.
    I'm still waiting for the part in this video where you did any kind of testing.
