Thank you for you and your team all the hard work developing solutions and share informations with us. A hungarian boy from UK. Just recently started to work on EV cars and gaining more and more information on EVs
very informative with good solutions. this made me appreciate the slowness but maturity of Toyota. in fairness to Tesla, the Model S can be considered as supercars due to cost and low volume and cutting edge.
The community is divided about coolant delete but it is your vote which counts for me. Tesla themselves are doing coolant delete on the latest LDUs. I did the weep hole and had some fluid the other day but it was clear not blue...condensation i think. It happeded after a period of short distance wet weather driving. Love the SuC pot plant holder 😂
I have a question. First of all big fan of your work and Tesla owner. How good are drive units on new 2024 Model 3 AWD? Do they require some maintenance overtime? And how long is their approximate lifespan? Huge Thanks!
@@sindoorbelic8036 Well true but you did ask specifically for the 2024 model. Basically the Model 3 DUs are super reliable with permanent magnet rotors and electric oil pump and filter for the gear oil. It is only the Model S LDU with its 'Achilles heel' rotor coolant seal which requires attention.
@sindoorbelic8036 Teslas in general have no scheduled servicing. I personally do an annual brake service und change the gear oil (plus filter in case of the M3) and coolant every 100.000km. My Tesla has done over 400.000km by now.
One suggestio... Much better you will repair the worn out original diameter where was working the oil seal, and make a Titanium oxide coating, or at the least Alluminiu Oxide likes Cheramic but the last one is more oil seal abrasive... Otherwise mechanical seals like they use in the pump, but it require a lot of modifications on motor casing as well.. I am working on food machine that are water tight as well, rumning about 6000 hours a years, some machine you need to overhaul after some years... Bye 😊
Greetings from Denmark, I've been waiting for part 2 for a year.
My Tesla S will definitely come by you if I need the engine overhauled.
This is how we learned it in the training at the EVC Zagreb Academy.
Thank you Vanja
This is how will do it in our Shop
Thank you too
@@TTemobility Doc Tesla finally did his PhD.
@@evclinic Looking forward to seeing a Tesla with a non-Tesla motor(s) fitted eg Zeeker or Byd...

How can they have any experience with brand new DUs? Ask them again in 8 years.....after the warranty on these units have finished.
@@moestrei These are not brand new . They are being used for couple of years on model 3 ...

@moestrei I am wondering do they need some oil change type of maintenance at some point.

Would you ship out rebuilt motors for install and we could send back the core?
