Very interesting to finally find a true review, rather than just another call me "get hyped" video where some bozo goes on about how cool it is. As someone with basically zero experience on two wheels, this video brings to my attention all kinds of things that I would not have thought about. So, thank you!
Never really considered a motorcycle until this came to the states. I don't really need a motorcycle, but I need a bit more than a traditional scooter. I had a Honda Elite when I was a teenager and loved it, but not quite enough for longer drives. I think this is the perfect little boost over a scooter into a usable city and country vehicle. Freeways aren't my thing even when I'm driving a car/truck 50-55 is all I need for top speed.
I have the navi , the first thing that I did was to change the front light and the dashboard light to led , H4 and a T10 and change the rear wheels , with 120/17 -10 for stability , it is pretty fun bike to ride , very cool!!👍
Do you have the new US-spec NAVI? Do you have any problems running the LED headlamp from the AC supply instead of DC? I'm thinking about converting the head/tail light to DC with a relay. Last question... do you have any clearance problems with the wider rear tire next to the rear CBS brake arm? That clearance is really tight on my bike. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Im sorry , I have the 2021 version from south america market but i think there is not big differences except for the brake lever on the foot. About the electronics you have to bypass the headlamp and connect it to the battery so when you turn on the key the headlamp and the dashboard light would turn on , also you can do this and put a switch if you dont want to work that way but i recommend you if you are not good with electronics to take it with an electrician, I dont have changed the rear light yet so im still pressing the brake to be "visible". Regardind the rear tire i think the maximun fit is 120/70 - 10 michelin citygrip , it also works the michelin S1 100 /90 - 10 because the space between the wheel and the engine is tight but is better to have a wider tire especially with rainy weather.

Son's Wife's new Navi delivered Dec 31 at Shawnee Honda in Oklahoma. Tops downhill at 55mph and a Blast! Imagine a body like this for a People 250 with big tires, mid-storage and does 80mph?
No handle on the left side is a hold over from the original Super Cub. A mandate for the design was it be good for carrying a bag of soba noodles in the left hand.
Glad it was helpful! You might want to watch my follow-up video here about using the NAVI as a commuter or delivery vehicle: ruclips.net/video/9FaCF2eN_5Y/видео.html . The fuel economy isn't great and the tank is small, so the NAVI's range is only ~70 miles between refills (~75 MPG so far during my testing). That probably won't be an issue for most in-town commuters, but it could be an inconvenience for longer commutes or delivery chores. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard my commute is less than 5 miles each way. In good weather I usually use one of my ebikes to make the trip. This looks like a good alternative.
Good point! I've never owned a Buddy, so I can't comment on their reliability or performance. The dealer and service networks here in the USA aren't the greatest for brands that aren't mainstream (e.g., the big 4 from Japan). Great Honda Navi Videos! Just signed in to be a member. I just purchased a Honda Navi yesterday from Lake Cycle in NW Indiana. They are delivering it to me tomorrow. It's cold and snowy here. The price for the bike out the door was $2,624.00 with Free delivery, not bad. This was the first one sold in NW Indiana. The bike color is Grasshopper Green. Can't wait for a little warmer weather here!
Howdy, Alan! Congrats on your new NAVI, and thanks for the membership! I'll be posting some member-only content for the NAVI very soon... probably some livestreams for wrenching and brainstorming behind-the-scenes stuff. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

Thanks, Kevin! My primary helmet is the Schuberth C3 Pro modular (flip-up). I have several other helmets that I use, including a new Shoei NeoTec II, but the C3 is the quietest one that I have. 😉👍 --QM
Congrats on your upcoming NAVI! I'll be sure to make videos for all of the upgrades and accessories that I install so other owners can see if those add-ons will work for their needs. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I think the engine could be related to the Honda SCV 100 Lead that was made by Honda India in the mid 2000s. A real workhorse scooter with drum brakes and tiny 10 inch wheels.
So the navy is of course very inexpensive and that’s cool but for me, I would rather pay more money and get the cub because I would really want the fuel injection and lock brakes in the front gears styling and some of the other features that the cub has that the he does not, but it is nice that there is such an inexpensiveboat of transportation that will work, but I guess you have to tinker with it a little bit but if you get something that’s carbureted you should probably expect that a little bit
Lol started watching and thought those streets look really familiar…I’m also in Cinco/ Katy! Great review..this little thing piqued my interest as a low cost local form of transport and a step back into motorbikes after a few years away. Oh and I also hammock camp! Small world!
Howdy, neighbor! Let me know if you want to do a motocamping trip sometime... I'm always looking for any excuse to camp, and having more local riding buddies would be great! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
So 45-55? Thanks! Unfortunately! Not fast enough? For highway use? Since Ohio has 70mph on a few state routes. Thanks! 50mph with wind, would be ok, for me That's about what i did, on a yamahaha 650, I used to have. THANKS!
This looks like a lot of fun for a new rider like myself. I'm intrigued but worried its limited top speed would actually be dangerous if used to commute on a highway with cars traveling 60-70mph. I guess that's not its intended purpose. Also, being a CVT automatic makes it much easier to ride but wonder if I would need to learn how to shift a proper bike in order to obtain a motorcycle license.
Starting out on a scooter or semi-automatic motorcycle (e.g., Super Cub) actually helps a lot of riders get into riding more comfortably. Not needing to focus on shifting gears and smooth clutch actuation frees up the rider's focus for other tasks like balance, smooth power application, braking, cornering, etc. You can always transfer those skills onto other motorcycles later if/when you decide to move into larger machines. Some of Honda's larger bikes have the optional DCT (dual clutch transmission) that takes care of the shifting for you. It's available on the NC750X DCT, Rebel 1100 DCT, and the GoldWing DCT. The DCT feels completely different than a CVT because there is no rubber band slippage in the transmission. The transmission has actual gears (6-7 speeds), a chain or shaft final drive, and clutches that are controlled by the computer. You just give it throttle and the computer takes care of the rest! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard great to know about the DCT, the rebel was the bike im eyeing as an upgrade from the navi to a full size bike that can go on the freeway. With ABS and DCT I feel like id be able to be safe while keeping the same "chill" vibe that the navi is giving me
Howdy, Charles! Yes, I'm planning to take some road trips on the NAVI very soon. I'll start out with some 200-300 mile destinations and see how it behaves. My first few stops will be state parks for weekend motocamping. I'll be sure to record the journeys, and I'll try to do some livestreams while I'm on location. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I use a third-party application called Telemetry Extractor ( goprotelemetryextractor.com/ ) to present the gauge data that's recorded by the GoPro camera and my Garmin Zumo GPS. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I was surprised at the speedo accuracy... within 0.5-1.0 MPH of GPS... that's really good! I'll skip the "Grom tuck" and go straight to the Thai method... flip-flops and all: ruclips.net/video/dChs5tM0xSc/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/wXAg_lBeLtM/видео.html !!! 🤣ZFG all the way !!! 😂👍 --QM
Howdy, neighbor! I bought my NAVI from Eastside Honda in Baytown, TX. They have been great to work with. I've purchased my last 3 bikes from them and I did unboxing videos for each one at their dealership. 😉👍 --QM
Sure, that would be fun! I have a bunch of bikes ranging in size from 50cc to 1100's. A dual vlog with a little hog following a big hog could be funny as hell, though! 🤣👍 --QM
The Navi handles reasonably well for a small motorcycle (scooter). However, the small 10" rear wheel can make it feel a bit flighty in corners. It doesn't track a line as well as other mini-motos like the Honda Grom or Super Cub. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard I'm assuming lime green. It will be a shock if they aren't. Thats what was pictured with no color options. Glad to see they are hitting the streets.
Highway duty is something that the Navi just can't do comfortably. My top speed is ~53 mph under ideal circumstances, but it's closer to 47-50 mph in most conditions. Fuel economy is another sore spot for most Navi owners. Honda advertises 110 MPG, but real world use yields closer to 75 MPG. That figure combined with the Navi's 0.9 gallon fuel tank means that I can only ride ~65-67 miles before empty. That's not great range for a commuter machine, and it's less than convenient for a run-around or delivery bike. We'll see if the economy improves after a carburetor adjustment and a set of Dr.Pulley slider weights in the variator. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
You should be able to contact any Honda dealer to place a deposit or snag one from their showroom floor (if they have any in stock). The Honda Powerhouse dealers typically receive their inventory earlier than other smaller dealers, so I'd start there first. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Sadly, they're all allocated, apparently I have to give a $500 deposit to a local Honda dealer to hold one, but they can't pick the Colors Honda sends them.
That's a good question! The CBS will only apply a certain percentage of braking force from the rear pedal into the front brake (probably ~30%, but I don't know the exact specs or mechanical advantage that Honda's CBS system uses). You could certainly brake with just the rear and rely upon the CBS for the front, but you would be losing out on a LOT of braking force. The front wheel(s) usually accounts for 65-70% of braking performance on any vehicle due to weight transfer and tire contact patch dynamics. The NAVI's drum brakes aren't spectacular performers, so you really need to use a lot of force to stop in a reasonable distance. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I'm 5'7" (170cm) with a 30" (76cm) inseam. My riding weight is around 170 pounds (77kg)... 155 lbs without gear, plus about 15 lbs for jacket, boots, and helmet. You can see my normal weigh-in at the beginning of this video: ruclips.net/video/H0-aQ-QNYHs/видео.html . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
The low-end torque is very good when starting off the line. I will probably upgrade the variator or install Dr.Pulley slider weights to help prevent the engine from bogging-down in the midrange: ruclips.net/video/8q_6keXrov8/видео.html . 👍 --QM
Just by the smell of the exhaust and decades of racing and tuning carbureted engines. I haven't done the 600-mile maintenance yet, but that coming soon. I plan to reset the A/F screw and adjust everything after that first service. Hopefully, I can sort out this carburetor's issues... if not, then I'll re-jet or replace it with something else entirely. 😉👍 --QM
Some people disconnect the wiring harness for the side stand switch to disable that safety. I actually prefer to have the side stand safety on most of my bikes. The only machines that I typically disable it is with my off-road/ADV bikes where the switch can cause your engine to cut out over large bumps/jumps. 😉👍 --QM
Howdy, Carl! As far as I know, the Navi is road-legal in all 50 US states. Some states have minimum displacement limits for interstate highways, but there are usually no restrictions for side roads and rural highways. Here is a link MN DMV site with some topics: dps.mn.gov/divisions/ots/mmsc/faq/Pages/default.aspx , and here: dps.mn.gov/divisions/ots/mmsc/motorcycle-license/Pages/laws-regulations.aspx . I didn't see anything specific regarding minimum displacement for highway use, but I'm still searching. 😉👍 --QM
No, I didn't ride any faster than ~30 MPH with my daughter onboard. I would estimate the top speed to still be around 50 MPH with that load, but it would take a while to accelerate up there. I made several full-throttle acceleration runs up to 25-30 MPH, and it performed about the same as 1/2 throttle with only me onboard. 😉👍 --QM
Howdy, Jim, and congrats on your upcoming NAVI! The delivery trucks are rolling early, so you might receive an updated delivery date from your dealer... that's what happened with mine. Rumors say that the grashopper green was the first shipment, and the other colors will follow in a few weeks. I just received a message on Instagram from another channel viewer who has a grashopper green NAVI, and he's right here in Katy, TX! It looks like Texas might be one of the first stops for the deliveries as they roll north. Good luck and Happy New Year! 😉👍 --QM

@@QuasiMotard my commute is less than 5 miles each way. In good weather I usually use one of my ebikes to make the trip. This looks like a good alternative.
@@QuasiMotard just watched it. Now I got my eyes on a Grom.
Great video. Looking forward to more.
Anyone considering this should also be looking into scooters, Buddy 125 goes about this speed and has underseat storage and disc brakes.
Good point! I've never owned a Buddy, so I can't comment on their reliability or performance. The dealer and service networks here in the USA aren't the greatest for brands that aren't mainstream (e.g., the big 4 from Japan).
If you own a Buddy, let us know how well it has worked for you in terms of reliability, performance, and serviceability (e.g., parts availability, dealer service, etc). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Does it cost $2000?
@@juliebraden6911 You're not gonna get a Honda Navi for $2000 new.

Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Shout out from Katy texas! Looking at getting a Navi. Love my fz07
Howdy, neighbor! The NAVI is a fun run around, but it certainly has its limits. I'll be giving away a brand new red NAVI on here on RUclips in the very near future, so subscribe and stay tuned! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Putting a capacitor in between the tail light and the battery is a potential solution to that flickering.
Have you tried raising the idle to stop the lights from flickering. I had to do that to my 07 Vespa.
I really enjoy your videos! What brand of helmet is that!
Thanks, Kevin! My primary helmet is the Schuberth C3 Pro modular (flip-up). I have several other helmets that I use, including a new Shoei NeoTec II, but the C3 is the quietest one that I have. 😉👍 --QM
Please make a video on the windshield install. A video on the LED lights install would be nice, also. Thanks.
I am waiting on my Nut Brown one.
Congrats on your upcoming NAVI! I'll be sure to make videos for all of the upgrades and accessories that I install so other owners can see if those add-ons will work for their needs. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Picking mine up in a few weeks! Where do you plan on ordering exhaust and new variator and sliders? I can’t find any websites
I think the engine could be related to the Honda SCV 100 Lead that was made by Honda India in the mid 2000s. A real workhorse scooter with drum brakes and tiny 10 inch wheels.
It’s a sick bike , if I was u install frame sliders and wheel size and lights and get a yoshi or akrapovic muffler and u good💯
So the navy is of course very inexpensive and that’s cool but for me, I would rather pay more money and get the cub because I would really want the fuel injection and lock brakes in the front gears styling and some of the other features that the cub has that the he does not, but it is nice that there is such an inexpensiveboat of transportation that will work, but I guess you have to tinker with it a little bit but if you get something that’s carbureted you should probably expect that a little bit
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard I’ll do that…just need to get a bike and I’ll be good to go!

So 45-55? Thanks! Unfortunately! Not fast enough? For highway use? Since Ohio has 70mph on a few state routes. Thanks!
50mph with wind, would be ok, for me
That's about what i did, on a yamahaha 650,
I used to have. THANKS!
With 3 "fill ups" I have averaged 95 mpg but usually 35 mph or less.
With ABS and DCT I feel like id be able to be safe while keeping the same "chill" vibe that the navi is giving me
Like your super in,are you planning some long trips on your new bike
Howdy, Charles! Yes, I'm planning to take some road trips on the NAVI very soon. I'll start out with some 200-300 mile destinations and see how it behaves. My first few stops will be state parks for weekend motocamping. I'll be sure to record the journeys, and I'll try to do some livestreams while I'm on location. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
What app (or hardware) do you use to record gps speed, lean, etc?
I use a third-party application called Telemetry Extractor ( goprotelemetryextractor.com/ ) to present the gauge data that's recorded by the GoPro camera and my Garmin Zumo GPS. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I love the carburetor.
I think you’ll need to master the grom tuck for 55 mph lol. Good to know the Speedo isn’t too inaccurate.
😂👍 --QM
Flickering happens with my Chinese scooter. Headlight is fed with AC from the stator.
Bush park?! Your right down the road, what dealership did you find this at?
Howdy, neighbor! I bought my NAVI from Eastside Honda in Baytown, TX. They have been great to work with. I've purchased my last 3 bikes from them and I did unboxing videos for each one at their dealership. 😉👍 --QM
fun little bike,enjoy.
Wait, I thought these weren't going to be available until February.
Where in Texas are u. I'm n Pasadena and haven't got my navi yet
I need one of those to replace my Chinese scooter. Can't get parts for my scooter now.

@@QuasiMotard that was my thoughts exactly. You on Instagram?
@@truckinbiker Yep, you found me! @QuasiMotard on IG. 😉👍
Does the Navi require motorcycle licenses and do you have to register and insure it ?
Yes, the Navi is classified as a motorcycle, so it requires registration and insurance. 😉👍 --QM
does this thing handle corners pretty well or no?
The Navi handles reasonably well for a small motorcycle (scooter). However, the small 10" rear wheel can make it feel a bit flighty in corners. It doesn't track a line as well as other mini-motos like the Honda Grom or Super Cub. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
When you get a exhaust will you need to rejet
I have 2 ordered. Supposed to ship January 4th. Whatever that means lol.
Congrats! Which color(s) did you request? 👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard I'm assuming lime green. It will be a shock if they aren't. Thats what was pictured with no color options. Glad to see they are hitting the streets.
Oh it tops out at 45? I was really excited but 55 is a minimum since I live off a highway
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
My Ruckus has a CDI, 40-43mph and the CDI really opened the Ruckus up. Hard to spend the money on the Navi if you couldn't get the extra mph.
Where in U.S. can I order a Navi??
You should be able to contact any Honda dealer to place a deposit or snag one from their showroom floor (if they have any in stock). The Honda Powerhouse dealers typically receive their inventory earlier than other smaller dealers, so I'd start there first. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Sadly, they're all allocated, apparently I have to give a $500 deposit to a local Honda dealer to hold one, but they can't pick the Colors Honda sends them.
Since you brought up the floppy lever issue, for the Navi can you get away with using only one brake, since both brake lever and pedal are linked?
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I would pay $500 more if Honda put digital fuel injection and disk brakes
Shame on the dealership near me marked it up to $4500.00 out the door, Because the demand is so high.
NAVI MOTO #1 IN PUERTO RICO GOOD MAN❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
With the helmet on you kinda sound like Tony stark from avengers
Great Motorcycle
I just got the same one
How do you drag the rear brake if the brakes work in tandem?
What's ur wight while riding this bike
I'm 5'7" (170cm) with a 30" (76cm) inseam. My riding weight is around 170 pounds (77kg)... 155 lbs without gear, plus about 15 lbs for jacket, boots, and helmet. You can see my normal weigh-in at the beginning of this video: ruclips.net/video/H0-aQ-QNYHs/видео.html . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
how much is this out the door after all dealer fees and crazy charges?
Mine was 3300 out the door
how high is the seat? I'm 5'8" 28" inseam will that little fella fit me?
Yep, I'm about the same size and I don't have any problems reaching the ground. 👍--QM
How is the torque on the bike?
The low-end torque is very good when starting off the line. I will probably upgrade the variator or install Dr.Pulley slider weights to help prevent the engine from bogging-down in the midrange: ruclips.net/video/8q_6keXrov8/видео.html . 👍 --QM
How do you know it’s running rich?
Just by the smell of the exhaust and decades of racing and tuning carbureted engines. I haven't done the 600-mile maintenance yet, but that coming soon. I plan to reset the A/F screw and adjust everything after that first service. Hopefully, I can sort out this carburetor's issues... if not, then I'll re-jet or replace it with something else entirely. 😉👍 --QM
Is there a wire to cut to get the engine to stay running with the kickstand down?
Some people disconnect the wiring harness for the side stand switch to disable that safety. I actually prefer to have the side stand safety on most of my bikes. The only machines that I typically disable it is with my off-road/ADV bikes where the switch can cause your engine to cut out over large bumps/jumps. 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard I guess the only question left is why aren't you jumping the navi ?
Does anyone know if these are highway legal in MN? Surprisingly hard to find answers for it
Howdy, Carl! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thank you so much! Looks like I'm going to buy one, and because I weigh 135 pounds I think I'll get quite a bit out of it :D
Where can i buy accesories for my Honda Navi in the US?
What’s the break in on those?
Powersports has this listed for 1800$.
Hi , when you were loaded with you family did you notice what the top speed was ?
No, I didn't ride any faster than ~30 MPH with my daughter onboard. I would estimate the top speed to still be around 50 MPH with that load, but it would take a while to accelerate up there. I made several full-throttle acceleration runs up to 25-30 MPH, and it performed about the same as 1/2 throttle with only me onboard. 😉👍 --QM
How tall are you, friend?
I am 5 feet, 7 inches tall (170 cm) with a 30-inch inseam (76 cm), and my riding weight is 170 pounds (77 kg). 😉👍 --QM
