Enjoying your videos! I have a deposit down on a Red Navi, being told March time frame. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the lights and your install videos. It is something that needs upgraded for sure!
Done! I just took it moto-camping on Saturday night in Stephen F. Austin State Park. I slept in a hammock during thunderstorms... good fun! I'll be editing and posting that video later this week. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I got my navi started after watching you start yours. The choke shows full choke up by the mirror position when actually below that is an arrow showing down for full choke.the headlight hi/low beam is iffy as to proper position also
I had a 2015 Zuma 50, and I think the 50 and 125's have been water cooled ever since they went to EFI in 2013. They are super reliable, but i hear most zuma owners are not fans of the looks of the 2022's.
I would like to see the DC conversion on the lights. Where you got the parts. And a discussion of how the current system is configured and what u change to.
27:35 yeah what i've noticed is that there aren't many riders on the roads in your videos. I don't know if thats America in general,or the bike ownership is just low in Texas/Katy in particular, but also its so cool watching you waving/thumbs up to other riders and vice versa when they pull up alongside you on the traffic and all. Im from Japan and we don't do that here, because there are SO MANY BIKES on the roads(well,Japan is home to many of the bikes and cars you ride and see in today's world so its no surprise😅)
You could try using 3D printer hotend cleaners. I think you can get them down to 0.05 mm 0.1mm for sure. You can get a set at a car parts store but, they are not as good and don't go as small. Cheers
I’ve got a Honda XR150L and it’s got the same electrical system as he Navi: headlight, rear light and indicators run on AC. Going to go the same way you are thinking: add a relay on DC side activated by ignition switch, replace lights with LED. I’m really interested in seeing you do this.
Not sure if the gentleman still makes them. But, you were able to get a inverter the size of a large thumb. Not sure if the ac system produces enough amperage to invert to something useful. They were available on ebay and amazon. Cheers
Things to do on Navi? Twisted sisters, obviously. Followed by Palo Duro. On a particularly long trip..Im not certain if circumnavigation is the right term, but ride the border of Texas.
I got my Rear Rack in the mail 2 days ago and it was Rusty… Not too sure why they would send me this without really looking at it. Check it for Rust… 2 Coats Honda! 2 Coats!
i want to get one. I'm from Houston as well. but ill be moving in a few months like around April- May to Jacksonville,NC. So i may just wait until i to order one. i might drive to a location here to check it out.
@@QuasiMotard Right now I'm watching all your Navi videos. I like how the vids feel like if I'm just chilling with a buddy and he's telling me about his bike while we're cruising lol
I didnt know that was a kick start. Her Two wheels didnt mention that part on one of her youtube videos. So glad QuasiMotard showed that part on this video 👍👍
Thanks for the feedback, Nick! I've watched @HerTwoWheels and I really like her channel... great content and editing. I can only hope that my channel (and editing skills) become as successful as her channel someday. I mostly do "owner reviews" on my channel. There is a huge difference between a test ride review and an owner's review because of the commitment involved... the dynamics and expectations are different. You learn a lot about a machine when you live with it for more than just a few minutes on a short test ride. Cheers, and thanks for watching! 😉👍 --QM
was excited about this bike but out of 3 dealerships the best out the door price with cash I could get was 2900... might have to wait a few years to pick one of these up when I can actually get the 1807 price used.
I am really new to the scooter motorcycle world. I would love to know what gear your using. Thanks. I am in Washington state. I am looking for a red Navi.
You talked about abandoning the AC circuit for lighting. And this was an old circuit that Honda used. I have a ‘87 TLR 200. The AC circuit on this bike feeds the headlight only and it has an AC regulator. The DC system feeds everything else with a DC Rect. / Reg. With battery. And you talked about using a latching relay. I checked the website and the relay was designed for a push on, push off type application. So.....just didn’t want you to buy stuff that would not work. Please get more details from your European buddies how they did the changes.
Quasi both our bikes came from the same box 📦, i really dont have these idling issues on mine 😬. The only problem i have is cant see well from left mirror 🪞 because my wife dropped it 🤦♂️ im thinking 🤔 maybe i live in a different elevation level southeast Houston.
Howdy, Kevin! So our NAVI's were crate mates at Eastside Honda?! It's luck of the draw, I guess. 🤣 Minor changes in elevation won't account for these differences... you need 500-1000 feet of elevation change to see any noticeable performance differences with most carburetors. The idle problem on mine could be due to a leaky seal or an improperly adjusted air/fuel screw on my carburetor. We'll see how it shakes out very soon. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
So what do you predict will happen if you simply swap the existing halogen to an LED H4 without changing the wiring? I would imagine it may not work (or poorly work) at idle but while moving it should work fine.
It will probably work at higher RPM, but the LED probably won't last too long. They aren't meant to be run with AC, so it will stress the diode gate on reverse flow (blocking). That high frequency oscillation will probably cook the LED in no time. It would be an interesting test, though... maybe I'll sacrifice a $35 LED for the cause. 😉👍 --QM
Yes, I always turn off the fuel petcock if the bike will be sitting more than a few hours. The Navi (and most carbureted motorcycles) have a tendency to slowly lose fuel through evaporation in the carburetor... particularly during hot weather or if they are parked in the sun. The fuel in the carburetor's float bowl is eposed to open atmosphere, so it slowly evaporates and is replenished with fuel from tank (through the petcock). I've noticed that the Navi's carburetor will be bone-dry if it has been sitting for a few days, and it takes a few seconds to refill after opening the fuel petcock. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
oh i hate this new gas i do this on generator. i run it on this crap gas until its no longer needed them i dump 2 stroke oil in it and let it run a little them i shut the gas off let it run about 30 seconds then shut it off. and SO FAR i have been lucky the last 13 years i only had card trouble one time and that was because i forgot to shut off the gas and it filled my crank case with gas. but thats the only thing i let set for months. plus i start it on the first day of every month and let it run about 10 minutes. and again lucky it always starts first pull. Now that i said that next month its going to kick my butt. LOL
Hi there! New subscriber here. I have a Zuma clone in Houston and need minor work on the wheel bearings. Can you recommend a scooter shop that’s not a dealer for repairs, it’s an ice bear pmz150-17….thank you!
Howdy, neighbor! I don't know of any independent scooter shops, but I'll check around and let you know if I find a reputable one. Maybe other locals could chime in here to give suggestions? 😉👍 --QM
Correct... lane filtering (splitting) is not legal in Texas. The only US state that has it "officially" on the books is California. We still do it occasionally, but it's dangerous here because our cagers are very territorial and they will intentionally try to wreck you for passing them. 😉👍 --QM
It is awesome how they add all this bull crap to gas and it makes it worse. They have some of the additives are probably OK but the ethanol no there is no need for any ethanol. That’s ridiculous and any ad tips that make it so the ethanol will work guess what my opinion we don’t need any of that.
My second and last comment on this subject. Ask an expert if you don’t believe me. All modern carbs are set to lean especially at idle. Emissions! I’m done.
The real question is... will a wider tire fit?! The CBS brake arm is really close to the edge of the rear tire already... not sure if we can shoehorn a wider tire in there or not. I'll probably delete the CBS on my bike anyway, so the original brake arms might give more clearance. 👍 --QM
Thank you for your informative videos. I'm picking up a NAVI later this month. How about a Rectifier for LED Light Module from Cyclops along with the proper H4 LED Bulb?

@@QuasiMotard I actually have an Alla H4 coming Tuesday. I’ll throw it in and see if it stays on cleanly at idle.
The silverwing is about $2000 over priced, but 2 year old models selling for more than new ones makes for crazy times.
You can't rely on Blue Book or NADA values for vehicles with extremely low miles... they always fetch higher prices. --QM
Quasi get a zuma125 for the channel. Lot of us are zuma folks. Would be great to see one of your awesome reviews on the 125s.
