@ADD8oi Very true. But have you ever watched how much actual contact patch they have from the factory? It rivals that of a Honda Civic...most GT500 owners suggest that before even driving off the showroom floor that you should get wider tires with thicker sidewalls. Ford is a great company for high value, reliable cars but I just wish they did more on the interior. They're always a full generation behind in interior design: while the 2010 mustang interior is a big improvement over the 05-09 model, compared to competitors like 370z and 200 camaro, the new interior is more like a good interior of a last gen car. It's not even a cost issue; somehow the higher management must be really conservative about these things or something. Exterior is great though.

Not really sure but I in the reviews of the engines compared to the chevy engines they always said it was more efficient. It never said why but I'm just quoting Motor Trend and Car and Driver.
@toyoracing89 yeah the problem with the Shelbys are the massively low profile rear tires, for the power they make, im sorry but 25 thick tires are worthless if youre making anything over 350hp, and the cheapness is true, also the fact that the aftermarket community and choices are massive
@knytrydr73 Because all three cars follow the exact same princibles. V8, RWD, 2 door, and to be a two seater masked as a 4 seater family car (exactly like the old days). Granted, they've all obviously gone their seperate ways as to how to display those points. But they all basically have the same purpose.
Ford destroyed the relationship with mazda before word of Ford needing money got out. My company gets discounts with all ford products and when I tried to get a mazda for has specifically on their site said that they no longer are with mazda. This was around august
@toyoracing89 they are wide, but like my buddy's older gt500, an 08, the front tires are thicker than the rears, which is even more pronounced in the 2011 GT500 with its 20 inch rims, they are however great due to their practicality, you dont want to pay in the 4 digits if you snap your rear axle, the 8.8" is used universally in fords new and old line-up, thankfully the V6 has upgraded to it aswell as a locking diff, Domestic FTW lol
2011 is going to rock. V6 Mustang will have 305 HP V8 Mustang GT will have 400 plus HP The Camaro and Challenger have lost every comparison test they have been in with just the 315HP GT, so imagine the butt kicking they will take against a Mustang GT with over 400HP !!
good looks inside and out plus good performance, but it looks like it sits up pretty high, $28,000 base price for the GT :O plus for its size the 4.0 v6 is kinda lacking compared to other cars like the 250hp 3.5 v6 in the challenger or the 300hp v6 in the upcoming camaro, or even the 210hp 2.0t in the new G coupe if i was in the market for a sporty coupe i would consider the Hyundai Genesis coupe as another rival for the mustang
I agree. Ford kept refusing to upgrade to a 6 speed even though GM had been using them in the Camaro for years. Hell the 98 Camaro had a 6 speed! Not sure of their logic
@toyoracing89 i used to have the 4.0 mustang which had the 7.5" LRA, snapped like a twig after TTs, but i agree, nope ford uses the 8.8" differential in its production vehicles now, well all except the explorer 4.0 and rangers, IRS is great handling but it becomes flimsy under massive stress, the likes of which trucks and drag cars see
Now would they give the cheaper V6 model more power than the GT of the same model year? I have heard that the 2011-2012 GT will be getting more power to compete better with the new Camaro.
this new born pony will be another eye-catching for modern muscle hope the dynamic trio (Mustang, Challenger, Camero) will have a fight of the title; witch muscle is better?! but for now, Long Live Ponies!!
I wouldn`t go so far as to say the DOHC is more efficient then a pushrod OHV motor. They both have their own advantages and disadvantages. What efficiency are you talking about?
its like asking how can a 2.0 engine put out close to 400hp without the need to super charge it. It all depends on what you work with. You can have the biggest engine in the world and still only push out little numbers or the same with the smaller engines. Ford is known for its advanced engines over the GMs old style for push rod (idk if they still do that). It works but its less efficient. I never really liked the Mustang really cause it was so under powered. Next year will be different.
LOL. 300 lbs is significant. If you don't think so, gain 300 lbs and then talk about how you feel. Cars don't like extra weight either. It doesn't require premium and the GT never has. Also the GT will get more mpg while making this power making it more practical. Been a corvette fan for 27 years. I would never buy a Camaro over an 08+ LS3 C6. The Corvette slaughters the Camaro in any performance category. I like this new Mustang though.
@ADD8oi Lol, true that bud. But as I said before...you would really have to do something seriously stupid to snap an axle. Because Ford spent a lot of time debating which to go with, LRA, or IRS and LRA was the best alternative. If IRS was so great and dependable, why is it that not even the lightest duty of pick ups or SUV's use them? Because they can take a shit ton of punishment and still go for hundreds of thousands of miles. I thought it was a 9'' with 3.73's?
Well no shit the mustang is faster than a vette thats why we have the Ford GT to destroy the vette and one more thing I-rocZ who? they stopped making that shit for a good reason back in the 80's the Mustang has been here since 64 and has never been cancelled in production unlike the camaro.
The Mustang maybe is a popular car in US, but that's it. The Camaro and Genesis Coupe are the eligible sports/performance vehicles of "Canadian Car of the Year 2010". Mustang is not on the list at all.
if you on a 2010 mustang then get ready to lose $1,700 from your bank account because you will be hit with the gas guzzler tax. i should know i own a 2010 shelby mustang. i just did my taxes and had to put in the gas guzzler tax as my deduction.
Wow man I can't believe the mpg rating on the v8 and even on the good for nothing 4.0 v6....24 mpg hwy for the v6 and 22 mpg hwy for the v8 in the year 2010? Its not even a big v8 at only 4.6 liters...I know I know its a muscle car who cares about fuel economy...but what I wanted to point out is that my bad ass 1997 camaro Z28 with a 4speed auto and larger 5.7 LT1 V8 rated at 285 HP and 325 torque gets 15 city and 24 hwy....same as fords good for nothing v6....what a great improvement Ford did with the new powerful and economical v6 for 2011...cuz its pretty sad that my bad ass camaro z28 got better mpg compared to this 13 years newer mustang gt...my 97 Z28 is bad ass cuz it can still take on mustangs that are 13 years plus newer.....not to mention that even in 2010 the mustang still don't have a 6 speed stick??? Why????? Camaro Z28 had a 6speed stick standard when it first came out in 1993......and by the way I'm not a hater As a matter of fact im trying to buy a 2010 gt but maybe I have to wait a couple more years so I can get real cheap in cash like maybe 5grand? I paid $2500 for my camaro z28 at 129k miles.....not a bad deal...
+Jorge Lopez What you guys don't yet understand is that while all the Camaro's get similar or better fuel economy from a bigger motor than the Mustangs, they have to be revved at a much lower RPM to do so. The 0.5:1 overdrive ratio in the Camaros means you're basically idling down the highway. In real world MPGs, the Mustang will likely do better as no one short shifts a pony car.

I SEEK MONSTER PERFORMANCE!
Not really sure but I in the reviews of the engines compared to the chevy engines they always said it was more efficient. It never said why but I'm just quoting Motor Trend and Car and Driver.
300 lbs makes a huge difference in the world of sports cars.
Motorweek! Still looks the same as it did in the 90's Kinda funny. You guys get some 4 K cameras, some drones and get on top of it already!
Wow, I've been shopping for one of these and have yet to find one with the nav and rear view screen.
I like how they compare the GT and then show pictures of the V6 Camaro and V6 Challenger and not the V8 trims of either
Remind Me of Classic 1968 and 1969 Fastback.
I LOVE IT!! im getting mine next year.. im waiting for the 5.0 =D
So how do you like it
Ford destroyed the relationship with mazda before word of Ford needing money got out. My company gets discounts with all ford products and when I tried to get a mazda for has specifically on their site said that they no longer are with mazda. This was around august
@Ronnie51026 lol in every race the mustaang pulls hard, hell ive raced a bunch of 2ss's in my new 5.0.....they lost big time
@toyoracing89 they are wide, but like my buddy's older gt500, an 08, the front tires are thicker than the rears, which is even more pronounced in the 2011 GT500 with its 20 inch rims, they are however great due to their practicality, you dont want to pay in the 4 digits if you snap your rear axle, the 8.8" is used universally in fords new and old line-up, thankfully the V6 has upgraded to it aswell as a locking diff, Domestic FTW lol
Why does 2010 look like 1995?
Beautiful!!! 😍😍😍
such an amazing improvement, I'm impressed.
14 years after 🔥
2011 is going to rock.
V6 Mustang will have 305 HP
V8 Mustang GT will have 400 plus HP
The Camaro and Challenger have lost every comparison test they have been in with just the 315HP GT, so imagine the butt kicking they will take against a Mustang GT with over 400HP !!
good looks inside and out plus good performance,
but it looks like it sits up pretty high, $28,000 base price for the GT :O plus for its size the 4.0 v6 is kinda lacking compared to other cars like the 250hp 3.5 v6 in the challenger or the 300hp v6 in the upcoming camaro, or even the 210hp 2.0t in the new G coupe
if i was in the market for a sporty coupe i would consider the Hyundai Genesis coupe as another rival for the mustang
I had an '86 GT with 5M. Hard to believe in 2010 still only has a 5M, not a 6M.
I agree. Ford kept refusing to upgrade to a 6 speed even though GM had been using them in the Camaro for years. Hell the 98 Camaro had a 6 speed! Not sure of their logic
@toyoracing89 i used to have the 4.0 mustang which had the 7.5" LRA, snapped like a twig after TTs, but i agree, nope ford uses the 8.8" differential in its production vehicles now, well all except the explorer 4.0 and rangers, IRS is great handling but it becomes flimsy under massive stress, the likes of which trucks and drag cars see
ford did a mighty fine job in the design dept. of the '10 mustang. imo, it's one of the best looking mustangs yet.
@FLLMTR I do not think that the Mustang is overpriced at all :)
What efficiency are you talking about?
hello sir! can i have the '10 Shelby GT500 please?! thank you.....
I love my bastard year mustang.
+1! Have an 05 GT w basic bolt ons
dude thats exactly what im waiting for
I’m trying to reconcile that 2010 is 14 years ago.
the 5.0 is back!!!!
Imagine being suckered into buying one of these a year before the 5.0 came out.
its like asking how can a 2.0 engine put out close to 400hp without the need to super charge it.
I'm watching this in 2024 😊
@Stevenhiggles
Understood
No ventilated seats? C'mon, Ford. I can even see the blank where the bottom is supposed to be!
@Ronnie51026 so? its still 2 tons, its a tank man, it got KILLED by the GT 2011 Mustang
Imagine buying this car new and then the 5.0 and 6 speed came out a year later
Can you put that same cold air induction system that comes standard on the GT on the V6 too?
9 years later nope just get a ecoboost stang
I thought it was a 9'' with 3.73's?
how u know 20111 will bring 5.0?
🙂🖕
how?
Jorge Lopez In my 2010 mustang gt, with the 5 speed, i have gotten 27/28 mpg highway if i baby it.
I have a 2002 4 speed camaro ss and I get around 26-27 hwy mpg lol
+Jorge Lopez i get the same mpg in my 2013 gt as i did in my 2002 WS6.
In real world MPGs, the Mustang will likely do better as no one short shifts a pony car.
with six gears, it's easy to short shift an LS1 and get great gas mileage if you try. i did.
