I bought a 2005 GT premium with only the bright interior trim(but no Upgrade Interior Package that includes MyColor dash). The Shaker 500 is standard on the premium GT(or V6). I paid just under $28K. @rogerwatson5995 not sure why you doubt that it or how you weighed your own car. I find most people that don't own their own scales get really weird ideas about weight. You can easily look up what magazines published for curb weights. The GT500's of this generation were heavier, maybe what you were thinking of, but still not as big as the mustangs that came after them. The S197's are a nice size and don't need a cage for decent chassis stiffness like the fox based cars. Speaking of which, my 1987 mustang GT was somewhere near 3200lbs on the same scales.

I know when the coyote came out and the garbage MT82 and the aluminum condor engine and the 3.7 engine. 6 years goes by quick and is considered quick. A decade is pretty damn quick as you get older. You basically said acshewally, when all three engines came out the same year newer and better engines and the mt82 for all its flaws was better than the old transmissions . They handle better and are faster in every metric.

I have a 2003 V6 Mustang. Even with the V6, the body flexes like a wet noodle. While no longer referred to as Foxbodys, the 1994-2004 Mustangs were still built on the Fox platform, the worst chassis Ford has ever had. By far. Jack up one of the front tires and the doors won't open or close. I just got mine for a commuter car, but it is a little disconcerting to actually hear and feel the body flexing. I wish Ford had put louvers over the rear quarter windows on the '05 '14 Mustang, to make it look like the older '60s fastback models. I didn't consider an '05 and up model V6, because the engine is unreliable. It's a hatchet job of an engine, it's a former OHV engine sloppily converted into an OHC engine, and is well known for timing component problems at low mileage. It has timing components on both ends, requiring the engine to have to come out to replace them. And I just plain prefer pushrod engines.
