I have started ordering more from Walmart and have been impressed. Shipping is free on orders of $35 or more, and I have gotten everything I've ordered in 2 days or less.

In the UK, Prime video bundles in an advert supported channel called frevee. On that channel I usually find myself cancelling the movie at the first advert break, unless the film is really good since the advert breaks my immersion. If people adopt that approach it could well backfire on Amazon, with very little advertising content actually being watched.

Amazon is a monopoly. I never wanted their sucky video content and the purchase experience is about 60/40 percent positive-neutral/negative. This is the year to cancel.
I left Prime Video when they started adding various different subscriptions to watch what I thought I was already paying for. Also, I found that while being a Prime member was often convenient in some ways, the quality of products on Amazon has decreased (or at least the name brands) and I was buying things elsewhere anyway. So yeah, while this didn't affect me, it's another reason I'm not planning on going back to Amazon
I agree , the quality of the products on the site have fell into the garbage can. I look up a type of product and it’s all these ‘companies’ or ‘brands’ that pop up with names that look like someone just rolled their hand across a keyboard to create and it’s all the exact same product just with a different brand name. I don’t trust any of it and often end up looking for what I need elsewhere or have gone back hopping in the car and hitting a physical retail spot again. The cheap garbage has taken over the site.

We have been with amazon prime for 10 years but this move has really tip the wagon. Today we cancelled our amazon prime, movies and music unlimited, we spent last year £8000 on shopping too which we will spend elsewhere. I chatted to customer service but they would not remove the £2.99 charge. Bye bye amazon and the three alexas we have in our home.
They fob their subscribers off with ''oh we're investing it in the company'' but what's got lost in translation is that the CEO's at the top of the company are just getting richer. They think we're stupid
Going back to android screw being ripped off again by greedy amazon, plenty of free content out there and it's going to push people to watch pirated content again. Good luck to all that drops prime
When you have your own personal rocket, you're not hurting for money. I understand it costs money to make the "Amazon original" Movies and TV shows. The ads would give time to read Facebook notifications and ignore the ads so the joke is on them lol
I have health issues which mean I shouldn't sit for long periods. Ad breaks are used to get a drink, a snack, a toilet break etc., and when I'm not getting up I might see if I can complete a Sudoku puzzle before the ads finish. As a result, no matter what I'm watching I can't tell you the name of a single advertiser or product. I simply don't watch them and they earn no money directly from me. Without ads I regularly pause videos (including DVDs etc) so this change doesn't impact me greatly. I might cancel my Prime subscription and go for a Prime Video only sub but that will have nothing to do with ads. It's just that I don't buy as much from Amazon as I used to so the shipping benefits are minimal. Also, I don't use the Music or Kindle benefits.
I use prime video and Amazon quiet a bit (from the uk) i don't watch tv nor pay for a licence. Out of principle i will cancel the tv wait longer for delivery this in turn will encourage me not to waste money on junk.
Canceled, 4 or 5 days shipping since the switch to usps. Ad's were the last straw. Been with Amazon prime when it was $79 a year. Disappointing amazon chose to do this. Easy fix is to stop making crappie content. No need to charge customers for not watching it.
Amazon started with ~30s 1/1 adds. now going to 2/2 from 15 to 32s. Done and cancelled! Do NOT CARE about Amazon originals. Done, same as when Netflix tried to extort more money.
I'm not going to cancel my prime membership because of their video service. As you stated, it is a free service that comes with the prime membership. I find it personally useless. There's nothing on there I want to watch even with no ads. As a rule of principal, I will not pay for television with ads so if I were in it for the video they would be fired today?
We have this crap on RUclips as well. I pay for no ads and I have to sit and watch RUclipsrs spend time on their “sponsors” luckily I can just jump forward and not have to listen to it
Now, that Amazon is putting ads before, during and after Prime Videos, it's time to cancel. Next, may be Netflix due to their crappy selections and dependence on Bollywood content.
I don't mind ads as long as not too long and frequent. Some TV channels for example can have ads for 6 or 7 minutes and are frequent so the ads are on almost as long as the TV programme itself.
I'll Keep Prime for other reasons, but Hulu Netflix will likely be removed. Notice how lazy they got with series episodes. Remember when there was 20-30 episodes per season? Now it's 8-15
I was just prompted the $2.99 today for the first time! Quickly came to RUclips to research..... I'm canceling in 13 days! I too use the shipping service very little to none, and I'm the only user.
Why people are whining and crying and peeing and moaning about adverts is beyond me. I am 70 years old and I grew up with commercials. There is more in this world to worry about rather than some stupid thing
@@ZenAndPsychedelicHealingCenter - we went through all that 20 years ago with Gnutella and eMule and pirate copies. My new years resolution, cut back on spending. I'll deal with the ads. If amazon raises their basic price I will have to consider canceling subscription.
Wait till they find out how much of an impact members quitting Prime because of the video has on Prime Shopping as ex-members no longer getting Prime "free" shipping broaden their internet shopping to other sellers and some may even avoid Amazon on principle. I quit BTW.
1 - Free everything 2 - Free for me category 3 - Freevee 4 - ADS That was literally the sequence. We all navigated to the prime icon deep in the page specifically to navigate ads. Why would they do this aside money? They have to be desperate. They know good and well customers do not like ads.
Cancelled, it’s ridiculous how companies use such strategies. First they beat the competition by killing local stores and then start implying such strategies wherein people then have no choice. Anyways, it’s over for me atleast. Peace ✌️
Most prime items I order take more then 2 days to get to me they often don't even ship in two days and often take a week or more. I joined prime for the shipping and they don't deliver on time anymore. They are pushing China crap more and more, and turning into a second rate ebay. Their ratings on items has become totally fake bs. I may buy a few things from them if I can't get them elsewhere but only if they are my only source.
I cancelled the additional paid channel subscriptions I had through prime video. I'm not sure if I'll cancel prime altogether. I don't know what the arrangement is with other channels(History, Starz, Paramount+ etc...) but I imagine those partners won't be very happy if people just start dropping those in droves. I absolutely despise ads and it's even more insulting considering these streaming services came about off the back of cutting the cord and commercial free content.
already cancelled my amazon prime account, might have watched Prime videos a time or two over the year, and noticed more and more two day delivery turns into a week or so, if they drop off to the US postal system add at least another week, good chance of the package being lost or damaged.
I cancelled, I shop with my prime account and with out to compare the prices I get better deals without a prime membership. I also did not renew my Costco membership. enough with all the membership and extra this extra that.
Don’t let this get out but idk for sure if it works with every card but I use current mobile banking and I if you buy the Amazon’s prime subscription then block them on the card you can get all the other subscription without it going through it even allows me to rent 3 to 4 movies a week before asking me to use a different card but I guess it ends up resetting and let’s me rent 3 more movies but I haven’t paid a dime in a year on prime video it still works even now!!!
Yep, just cancelled. I had no idea this was going to be the case until I got notified just now. I still don't understand who would actually be influenced by an interruption to a video by a company pushing a product or service that I never asked for. I already pay for Prime and it's a slap in the face.
Amazon is not good enough anymore..now we pay for adds! I was on the fence about canceling up to now, but I'm done with them as of February . Greedy turds
I hate the ads so much that I will deliberately avoid that product and, if possible, that company. If more people would do that instead of just crying about it, we would get some action. When the companies realize they are losing money, they will quit this foolishness.
It’s funny that I watch a fair amount of content here on RUclips and they often show many of the same movies, (for free), as you find on Amazon. And you’ll often have ads in the movies shown on RUclips but there’s no subscription for the basic programming.
Does this apply to films purchased through them, across the board? If it’s the free content they’re doing Freeview, then fine for ads, if it’s a film then that’s different
No ads on outright purchased content or rentals, but it will be on content that you'd paid a subscription for, which is still unacceptable. You get a sub fee, or you get ads. Not both. They need to remember they are competing with free in the form of piracy. People will pay a fair price for a good service. You start dicking them around, they'll just go back to the sea.
Likely i will "see" what limited ads really envelop initially before deciding. I've ditched netflix long ago for lack of viewing content to suite my taste. Seems prime video is rapidly following in that same manner for me.
If I want to watch ads, I'll watch commercial tv - the whole point of paying a subscription is to avoid ads. I won't be renewing when the current period runs out. Also, I noticed that the ads were short and infrequent at first but are now intrusive.
Each and every time, I see an ad, it reminds me how much I used to spend on Amazon products. I haven't ordered anything from Amazon since the ads started.
People like myself are going behind people's back and buying vhs movies offline for 10 dollars and buying cleaning tapes offline for 10 dollars how hard finding is that
Imagine. Prime video the bosses likely recall growing up and having adverts in the middle of films. It was a horrendous idea. Ruined the movies. Killed the scenes. So now Amazon a trillion dollar company has brought back adverts in the middle of movies. Non related adverts. Like just watching a thriller and sudden paise for washing powder advert. This is ruining our pleasure and not needed. Amazon should be sued for this. Ruining our pleasure when they dont need the money. Screw them.
The videos you bought are yours, even after a cancellation, or so the small print states. I only bought a very few things to try it, but some alarm went off in my skull, and I went back to hunting down DVDs again - they are actually cheaper than Prime videos!
I canceled my sub to Amazon, no way in hell I'm paying to watch ads! The increasingly amount of greed from streaming services will get people to look at pirating once again.

I don’t trust any of it and often end up looking for what I need elsewhere or have gone back hopping in the car and hitting a physical retail spot again. The cheap garbage has taken over the site.
netflix raise prices, youtube raised prices, prime raising prices, banks raising prices, fast food went up, groceries went up, everyone raising prices... Im done being nickel and dimed to death. Ive started canceling things that I really don't need.... amazon is having a down year.. well with any luck and enough people start canceling maybe they will have and even worse year coming up... great way to increase revenue piss off your customer base.
Vote republican in 2024. When you know you know.
Yup it might only be $3 more but everything wants $3 more... literally everything, it's like , how many lots of $3 more does the world think we all have!!! I've cut down on everything, I'm keeping my dollars, screw a subscription world
these corporations have lobbyists on both sides of the aisle. It is the Grand Uni-Party. Best thing is vote for a third party that you line up with politically and not these Corpo stooges in there now@@danielploy9143
@@kassiep that’s $3.00 per month
Netflix and Amazon churn out so much garbage. I canceled NF three years ago and this year will be Amazon. Waste of time.
The stockholders need to get mega rich too
I hope everyone cancels. I did, sick of their greed.
Going back to android screw being ripped off again by greedy amazon, plenty of free content out there and it's going to push people to watch pirated content again. Good luck to all that drops prime
Just received the email. Straight to my account and cancelled. Netflix next!
When you have your own personal rocket, you're not hurting for money. I understand it costs money to make the "Amazon original" Movies and TV shows. The ads would give time to read Facebook notifications and ignore the ads so the joke is on them lol
haha yup lots wont care
Cancelled my Prime today. They totally messed up a delivery to my flat yesterday and with all the ads, it was the last straw.
I use prime video and Amazon quiet a bit (from the uk) i don't watch tv nor pay for a licence. Out of principle i will cancel the tv wait longer for delivery this in turn will encourage me not to waste money on junk.
Nope not going to pay $2.99 per month
I bought an Amazon fire tv a year ago now upon turning it on I need to see an add before I get control of my own tv. This is BS corporate greed.
Canceled mine. They are just expensive temu at this point
I just discovered the adverts today, as I don't follow this kinda news, and it indeed cause me to instantly cancel my prime
Canceled, 4 or 5 days shipping since the switch to usps. Ad's were the last straw. Been with Amazon
prime when it was $79 a year.
Yup. This actually made me cancel what had been a subscription I just let roll over because I thought I was getting a good deal.
I pay for no ads and I have to sit and watch RUclipsrs spend time on their “sponsors” luckily I can just jump forward and not have to listen to it
If they want to add adverts then they need to give a cheaper as option.u can't just increase the price to get rid of ads ffs
Now, that Amazon is putting ads before, during and after Prime Videos, it's time to cancel. Next, may be Netflix due to their crappy selections and dependence on Bollywood content.
Fkn greedy corporate entities. Make money hand over fist and still want more...
And collect every bit of personal data they can.
I don't mind ads as long as not too long and frequent. Some TV channels for example can have ads for 6 or 7 minutes and are frequent so the ads are on almost as long as the TV programme itself.
i paid for Amazon Prime for shipping,, for 2 years I had no clue it had TV shows.
I'll Keep Prime for other reasons, but Hulu Netflix will likely be removed. Notice how lazy they got with series episodes. Remember when there was 20-30 episodes per season? Now it's 8-15
Price basically increases from 89,90€ to 125,78€ per Year in Germany if you want to Keep the same
Wal-Mart is on their heels. the Wal-Mart+ membership is pretty nice.
what do you get with it?
Do you get videos with that?
I was just prompted the $2.99 today for the first time! Quickly came to RUclips to research..... I'm canceling in 13 days! I too use the shipping service very little to none, and I'm the only user.
Why people are whining and crying and peeing and moaning about adverts is beyond me. I am 70 years old and I grew up with commercials. There is more in this world to worry about rather than some stupid thing
Imagine if things stayed the same as 70 years ago
We all cut the cord because of cost and went with streaming. What comes after streaming gets as expensive as the cord we cut?
Torrenting.
@@ZenAndPsychedelicHealingCenter - we went through all that 20 years ago with Gnutella and eMule and pirate copies. They started coming after downloaders by snooping internet traffic, and grabbed a few to make examples from. One mother ended up being slapped with several hundred thousand dollars of fines for what her teen son had "pirated", and lost in court when she fought it.
Yup. Went back to torrents
I believe the endgame with be Ai that basically just creates whatever film you want. But there will be about 3-5 years i between this.
My new years resolution, cut back on spending. I'll deal with the ads. If amazon raises their basic price I will have to consider canceling subscription.
Soon they’ll put a neural link chip into your head, and then put ads on it.
wow all this tech progress, and we are going backwards.I want the late 90s early 2000's internet back before it just became a giant ad platform
I only have prime for the free shipping so if they removed the prime videos I would not care.
They should separate the store cost from the video cost.
Wait till they find out how much of an impact members quitting Prime because of the video has on Prime Shopping as ex-members no longer getting Prime "free" shipping broaden their internet shopping to other sellers and some may even avoid Amazon on principle. I quit BTW.
1 - Free everything
2 - Free for me category
3 - Freevee
4 - ADS
That was literally the sequence. We all navigated to the prime icon deep in the page specifically to navigate ads. Why would they do this aside money? They have to be desperate. They know good and well customers do not like ads.
Got a question for ya man have you tried out any iptv boxes at all? like the tanggula tv boxes free lifetime iptv
I take its, its 2.99 around the world then because 3 dollars as diff from 3 pounds or 3 euros ?
I canceled my membership. Easy choice. I'm done. Just another excuse to raise prices unnecessarily.
I absolutely despise ads and it's even more insulting considering these streaming services came about off the back of cutting the cord and commercial free content.
it says "Available to rent or buy" on every movie i was trying to watch, wasn't like this before 💔💔
already cancelled my amazon prime account, might have watched Prime videos a time or two over the year, and noticed more and more two day delivery turns into a week or so, if they drop off to the US postal system add at least another week, good chance of the package being lost or damaged.
Bye Amazon. Just cancelled my sub
I cancelled, I shop with my prime account and with out to compare the prices I get better deals without a prime membership. I also did not renew my Costco membership. enough with all the membership and extra this extra that.
It has been so long since I found anything on Prime Video and Netflix that I wanted to watch, I didn't know they started putting ads on the videos.
I actually will be canceling prime. With the last price hike and now this not worth it anymore.
Also, canceling Netflix
I cancelled they're not picking my pocket.
Honestly I never watch anything on Prime and if I did I really can't remember the last time...lol... but I do use Amazon a lot for goods
the Lord of the ring tv series was really well done by prime
Yep, just cancelled. I had no idea this was going to be the case until I got notified just now. I still don't understand who would actually be influenced by an interruption to a video by a company pushing a product or service that I never asked for. I already pay for Prime and it's a slap in the face.
Amazon is not good enough anymore..now we pay for adds! I was on the fence about canceling up to now, but I'm done with them as of February . Greedy turds
I will cancel next year. I find I do not watch Amazon Prime video any-longer. And Im not finding any value in the shopping experience any more.
How about putting all the commercials together at the end of beginning?
I gave the ads a chance but they push it to far and 2 unskipable 1 min ads fuck that. Cancelling right after I saw that….
Yup once they start there is no stopping
moreeeee adsssssss
I hate the ads so much that I will deliberately avoid that product and, if possible, that company. If more people would do that instead of just crying about it, we would get some action. When the companies realize they are losing money, they will quit this foolishness.
It’s funny that I watch a fair amount of content here on RUclips and they often show many of the same movies, (for free), as you find on Amazon. And you’ll often have ads in the movies shown on RUclips but there’s no subscription for the basic programming.
Why did your visual aid show Germany in Panama?
Does this apply to films purchased through them, across the board? If it’s the free content they’re doing Freeview, then fine for ads, if it’s a film then that’s different
I asked in Amazon Chat, they told ME that no ads will show on paid for movies.
Thanks! @@larrymitchell6470
No ads on outright purchased content or rentals, but it will be on content that you'd paid a subscription for, which is still unacceptable. You get a sub fee, or you get ads. Not both. They need to remember they are competing with free in the form of piracy. People will pay a fair price for a good service. You start dicking them around, they'll just go back to the sea.
i have a feeling torrents are going to come back
Likely i will "see" what limited ads really envelop initially before deciding. I've ditched netflix long ago for lack of viewing content to suite my taste. Seems prime video is rapidly following in that same manner for me.
When my email comes its a big fat CANCEL from me ooooooo yes 😁😁😁
fairrrrr
That's a great comment, totally relate!
If I want to watch ads, I'll watch commercial tv - the whole point of paying a subscription is to avoid ads. I won't be renewing when the current period runs out.
Also, I noticed that the ads were short and infrequent at first but are now intrusive.
I agree. I think it is so dumb ads are the norm now. We pay for no ads not some
Each and every time, I see an ad, it reminds me how much I used to spend on Amazon products.
Screw them.
Hmm. So Colorado is now the UK, Mexico is now the US, and Germany is now Costa Rica? I learn something new on RUclips every day.
what haha?
@@UpgradeGuyTech The mapping at 1:28.
There is no place to cancel the Amazon Prime membership. Why?
That labeled globe is wild. Apparently Germany is in central America and the UK is in Montana????
when they have the foot in the door they will constantly raise the extra fee
Never had Prime in the first place waste of money 😂
Always use 5 day free shipping that usually comes much faster like 3 days or less.
You will never guess what advert played before this video
Nope, I don't watch ads. Not on anything. Including RUclips. Who on earth still watches ads on YT in 2023? That's so weird.
DONT CANCEL, SUSPEND… DOES THE SAME THING, BUT YOU KEEP ACCESS TO ANY VIDEO U BOUGHT.
CANCEL PRIME CC, MUSIC HD… 😃😁
The videos you bought are yours, even after a cancellation, or so the small print states. I only bought a very few things to try it, but some alarm went off in my skull, and I went back to hunting down DVDs again - they are actually cheaper than Prime videos!
YOU are 100% correct. Unless ur NOT… SUSPEND OR not to suspend , that is the question…. I think there is a play here 😁
I canceled my sub to Amazon, no way in hell I'm paying to watch ads! The increasingly amount of greed from streaming services will get people to look at pirating once again.
thats fair. Did you cancel prime video or the whole thing?
really crazy adding ads i think more people will look elsewhere because of this no one can afford more money
There's tons of more interesting videos on other Roku channels.
