We played without Kamara and with a half baked Luiz since mid-January. Having Onana, Barkley and Enzo as competition for Luiz's place in addition to Tielemans (who I think is "the light" as Emery used to say about Luiz now) is really strong and an upgrade on the squad from last season. Us and other clubs had to sell academy players and current stars, while Manchester Red were able to secure some leniency. Wildly unfair.
Feeling quite flat so far into pre season. We havent created many chances and it's not easy to identify a style of play in the games so far. I know we've players to return, who will undoubtedly make a big difference, but with so much emphasis on building a better squad, the squad hasn't looked great. Add that to a weak end of the season is a bit of a worry.

Emery's style of.play seems even more so to me, Martinez has had the most touches in some games and the playing from the front to the back and endless recycling makes me fear for the season. The signings were needed due to lack of numbers last season. Just can win nothing is won in pre season. I can here the grumbles if they start slowly. if they start slowly get behind them we've had two great seasons.
We’re starting the season with a worse starting XI than last season. And I must be the only person who is not excited in the slightest at the prospect of Felix. He was dreadful at Chelsea.

I think we will have a slow start, likes of Spurs, Newcastle, Palace, West Ham will all start well. However I think we will have a strong last 25 games and still be up there towards the end. I personalky would argue that this preseason abroad has been an absolute failure... not even from a result point of view... but commercial as a result of pur performances. You put in an exciting performance, you gain fans, who buy shirts and watch matches. (In my opinion)
