In our news (in Romania) our president confirmed today (from Washington, talking with Biden) one Patriot system for Ukraine - 4 systems actually in the country - 1 fully functional, 3 in different stages of readiness, in will be one of these 3 systems. We have green light for Iron Dome from Israel and this might be the necessary condition to get the Iron Dome a bit faster. Good news all in all.

All of a sudden, Steven let out a soft moan before he blacked out and evacuated his bowels in his pants then hit the floor completely knocked out cold. It took a couple min for them to wake Steven up. At which time Steven Seagal's pants were visibly soiled and he had to be rushed to his trailer.

ATACMS for oil depots so close to the front line is not the worst idea. It prevents a quick breakthrough of the Ukrainian defense lines and, most importantly, a deep advance at the site. And it will take time to cushion the lack of resources in logistics.
Also, an ATACMS can take out all the tanks in one go. Whereas drones or whatever can only take out one or two.

Actually, fuel storage is CRITICAL to any attack. Having adequate reserves means you can not only breakthrough, but you can exploit that breakthrough with mechanized units. As such, Ukraine is taking the sword from the hands of Russia's troops in this region. That means they must remain static, immobile and only a defensive threat. I suspect UKR had some intelligence reports of an attack forming not far from this depot. By destroying it, they have defeated the attack before it begins. This further means they can divert troops from this region elsewhere. I suspect this oil depot was the one critical link in the chain of a coming attack- now thwarted. Imagine if UKR had these missiles from nearly day one. Imagine if they had more tanks, jets, artillery and IFVs- from day one. This whole stupid mess would be over by now. Better late than never I suppose.

Attacking the oil depot with ATACMS makes sense. You need huge amounts of fuel to conduct a war. You need fuel for tanks, armored vehicles and for the trucks to take food, water, fuel and ammunition to the combat zones, no fuel = no logistics movement.
