The Danish foreign minister was asked if Ukraine would be allowed to use them (F16 included) on Russian territory, and he said "once we have given them the weapons, we do not control what they are used for"

But i think they have to loof what the US have to say to it, because F16 are US weapons. I hopfe the US will allow the use to attack military targets. Russia is hiding his troops on the russian land, thats shows the cunning of the regime in Moskau.

A Platoon of their guys from the 3rd Parachute Regiment used to stop by the mine I worked at in Central Africa about once per month for a day of rest and refit. Laundry, real porcelain, showers and chow. They are really serious dudes because they all WANT to be there. The Africans are scared to death of them even though they were there to protect them from bandits, rebels and poachers from Chad and Sudan LOL.

Half are French, any way, once you're in, you are Légion, you don't even swear allegiance to France, you swear allegiance to the Légion and, usually, after 3 years, you also get French nationality (if you want) and eventually a new identity if needed... Some criminals sign in, thus, murderers are not accepted.

Believe me brother in less than a decade you will regret these words. Win or lose Ukraine will only prove to be a hinder on the nato alliance and once their outrageous and cynical corruption comes to light regarding how they resold the weapons that they begged the west for (weapons that you, myself and everyone of us western fools paid for with our tax money instead of taking care of our homeless vets and our citizens in need of our help). To add insult to injury Ukraine did a magic trick with the cash received from these weapons and simply made it disappear meaning it was stolen and those funds were not used for the war effort. Considering that they’re not even paying the foreign legionaries what they had promised them even turning their back on the fallen legionaries who were promised $400k for their families in case they were to fall in battle. According to reports of the fallen legionaries comrades and family members none of the families of the fallen have received a penny and to make it worse the bodies of their loved ones are not being sent back for burial in their nation they simply throw them in a communal grave in Ukraine on the other side of the world. Many of these grieving families cannot afford to travel to Ukraine and most likely will never be able to pay their final respects to their loved ones. My remarks and criticism is directed at the Ukrainian government &leadership and not the Ukrainian people themselves.

La Legion are good troops, but politicians can still screw them by limiting their operational engagement rules.
Just look at Afghanistan where coalition ROE would only permit our troops to fire at targets that they had positively identified as firing at them. Meanwhile a tribesman sat against a compound wall, holding an AK and a radio would not be a legitimate target yet that radio could direct an ambush or trigger an IED.
That's providing the troops are even permitted to take sufficient weaponry to defend themselves properly. Would a Legion convoy have its own anti air/missile/drone weaponry or would they have to make do with Legionnaires' rifles and machine guns?

Leading off from your thought at 15:02, it's not just the GBU-39 glide bomb that can do it. It's not that it isn't being jammed, it actually WAS when it was being launched from the ground, but Ukraine has a whole bunch now because of GLSDB, they took the bombs off and put them on SU24 and 25, or MiG 29s, and the reason that they were able to get passed russian jamming is because once it's in the air far away from the jamming, it can basically get onto target accurately and guide itself in until it hits the jamming, by which point it is generally precise enough to keep going and hit its target. HIMARS benefits from the same to some degree, so long as you're using ATACMS, or using GMLRS at shorter ranges, because so long as the guided ballistic missile can loft high enough to get past jamming, it can get on target before it falls back into jamming, and by that point it's too late and the missile, if it's an ATACMS, is going in excess of Mach 3, and it will continue onward directly to the target unless a sufficiently capable anti-ballistic missile system is present in the region. GMLRS doesn't really have much travel time and is thus difficult to intercept in the first place unless the round is fired directly at an air-defense system, and as we've seen thus far in the war, that doesn't seem to be enough, at least with the current teams operating Russia's S300 and S400 systems. I still doubt the missiles can do it either, they don't seem agile enough for the role and are more built for hitting the extreme range claims that Russia has for intercepting enemy aircraft, rather than maximum agility to hit incoming hypersonic ballistic threats. ATACMS as well has already proven it can sneak in past them repeatedly.

EU needs their own european defense, own european factory back, and not always count on US help.
We need to see US as a defense partnaire, not a father. This war seems to open our eyes. EU needs a big reform on this point.
How Can WE defend ourself if US is involved elsewhere? (Part of the russian/chineese strategy..... No coïncidence with the North Korea agitation, Taiwan, Iran, Israël/Palestin, Yemen, and in some africans countries..... You can easily see the russian hands)
Russia does anything to distract the eyes and the US and EU from Ukrain.

The French Foreign Legion has more than a tad more experience than Wagner ever had.
Even if they're "just" instructors, they know how the enemies around the world behave... and they kinda know how to train soldiers, as they're perhaps the oldest group of professional mercenaries still alive.
Underestimating them would be a huge mistake.

One thing about jammers... they're very visible to something like HARM missiles... which just adds to the arguments that F16 can't arrive soon enough, and georestriction on ammo is silly.

@@BenjaminVestergaard Nobody is conscripted in France for about 30 years, it's an all professional military.
Being a mercenary is also banned by law.
The French Foreign Legion is a regular military unit that accepts up to 50% foreigners in.
Frankly, by French standards, the salary is not great: only about 30% more than the minimum French monthly wages for a 35h/week job while, at least for the 3 first years, you're in the Légion... 24/7/365...
And they have the highest loss rate of all French military units as they're on all hot spots...

Exactly. Great observation to see this. (Original post). The French won't send top rank Legionnaires without air defence. It's totally understandable. So, just place training camps on the front line, just beyond artillery range with air support.

@@deckearns it's a ''strategic'' move, not an emotional... also Macron did visit officially for the first time in many years Germany a couple of days ago... we don't see everything [we shouldn't anyway] so we have to ''connect dots''... my guess is that we're figuring out ''ways'' to deploy our own air-defenses in Ukraine without giving them away... so the ''training camps'' are just an excuse for more air defenses...
