I Try 110mm Wheels

- Today I put on the huge big skate wheels and hit the trail! These are flying eagle f6 falcon skates with 110 mm wheels. I have skated in these and have had these for a while but I do not like skating in them as much as regular 80mm wheels. I cover everything I like and don't like in the video so I hope you enjoy this semi comparison of 3 vs 4 wheel skates!

I think the big wheels in the city would be very radd to see!
You shouldn't go by looks. Wheels 100mm or larger are not for beginners. Neither are short rails and 3 wheels.
@@pit9623 I learned this the hard way lowkey 😭big wheels are of course very easy to like trip over more so than I would’ve known ☠️
Once I went 110 I could never go back to anything smaller !
Once you go 110 you never go vack
I think the 3 wheels are good for long distance trail skating and also they are good if the road surface isn't ideal.
I just measured that trail on Google maps. 13 miles end to end. You find the best places to skate. I think you went up to Montreal that Sunday morning ride was cool.
Now I will buy a pair of 4 wheels with 90mm. Nice video.
Squid: With big wheels you cannot do these crazy spins and stuff.
Also squid: Doing crazy spins as he speaks.
haha I guess it just feels like im less stable when I do it and I dont feel like its as fluid as 8 wheels 😆
Did these skates make you feel taller?
Yes the bigger wheels definitely make you feel much taller!
It all depends on your type of skating/purposes/abilities. I love my 3x110s because I can't do any tricks, but I can cruise my city and do fairly long distances, and those big wheels handle crappy surfaces like a dream. If I could do stair rolls and tricks that need greater stability they wouldn't be the best.
Yes exactly! Depending on what you are trying to do kinda decides what is gonna be best. In your situation the big wheels are definitely the way to go. They are awesome for bad surfaces 😁🦑
3x 100 on endless 90 or 80 is cool
I liked the way you skate bro. That was so entertaining *& U make skating look so easy & simple
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🦑🦑
I've got 4x80 hockey (Bauer XR800), 3x100 hockey (Powerslide Reign Perseus), and 3x110 (Rollerblade Twister Edge), and my 4x80 are my favorite because I like practicing hockey skills, and I'm most comfortable in my 4x80 set-up for that. BUT, the 3x100 hockey is insanely fast and light and super fun for cardio. I don't like the clunky 3x110 Rollerblades though. Coming from a hockey background, they're so heavy and clunky. The long wheelbase is fun though--super stable. Nice to use different skates though to mix things up and keep it interesting.
3x 100 auf endless LR 90/100 oder 80/84/100 is so much better.
Do the big wheels in the city! I had I same opinion on the triskates at first, but once I got used to them, got my slide stops nailed down, and got the wheels sufficiently broken in so as to have a little rocker, I was in love with them as a city skate. I think the added height makes them very effective in steeper downhills in urban areas because you can really carve up some deep s-curves and lean into your slides to stop on a dime. Going uphill is a lot easier too.
Yeah for sure I gotta give them more time and a chance! 😭
Have you tried 4x110? I bought a pair of RB 110s and I feel a lot less stable with the tri-wheels vs a 4x80 setup. Someone suggested I try a 4x110 frame, but I'm having a hard time justifying the cost. I'm trying to find something suitable for skating around my college campus and I worry that 110s are not maneuverable or stable enough to skate with other students walking around. I am also a little uncertain how well they'll do with stairs. My commute is about 12-15 minutes by car and so I was pushed toward the 110s to deal with the sometimes crappy state of the roads and to make covering the distance easier vs 80s, but I'm really uncertain if these are what I should have as a new skater and with the circumstances. I'd really appreciate your thoughts.
I have not tried that setup yet but I think the bad stability comes from bigger wheels. 4 instead of 3 might be a little better but I think the big wheels will still feel a bit less stable. It’s a hard choice for the commute you are talking about. I think you could get away with 4x80 just fine but the 4x110 would be a little easier for bad roads and distance. I think it comes down to what is worth the trade off. Less work and easier with 4x110 or more stability and maneuverability with 4x80
@Skating Squid Thanks for the response. Do you think any setup with 110s would be okay for dealing with stairs and close quarters with people or would that push you toward 80s right away?
@@austinfisheroutdoorswhat do you use right now?
Im interested in 4x110 and 4x100 as well😊
Honestly, what you said about the 3x110 is fairly accurate less control but a higher top speed - great for trail skating or going for long distances. I will say I love having different frame options. I use to strictly ride 4x80mm but then I tried 3x110 and liked it but missed the control. 4x90mm is the sweet spot for me man. It gives you the best of both worlds. 10/10 would recommend. Also don't knock 4x84mm or 5x80mm either both are super fun to mess around with but I totally get your point about 5x80 it is more to buy but its a unique style of skating.
Oh yeah for sure I think the best set up I get will be 4x90 because that’s right between 110 and 80. I live trying different stuff and maybe I’ll love the 90mm just like you! One day 🦑😁🦑
3x 100 on endless 90 or 80 is cool
Man half my youtube searches for inline involve checking out different frames, I think you could get new clicks and new subscribers by opening this horizon up for yourself.
I totally feel you on the 3x110mm, just straight up wasn't my cup of tea. Found that I fell in love with a 4x100mm setup though, bigwheel is amazing even if triwheel is edgy for no reason. I love not having to feel rough pavement and get slowed down, whole world becomes a rink. No idea how you do so much street skating in standard wheels bro lol. For me, the oldschool 4x76mm hockey skates rumble too much and get caught on pebbles constantly.
4x100 is still small enough to be agile but not as heavy, clunky, or stare-worthy as 110 or 125.
Yeah definitely that’s a good idea! Idk I try to stay away from doing generic reviews just because I feel like there are so many channels out there that already do that and I guess I want to set myself apart from everyone. That is smart though I might try and do more of those types of videos thank you for the suggestion! 🦑🦑🦑 but yeah it is tough on some pavement but I guess I’m just used to it after all these years haha I don’t do the hockey set up mine are actually 4x80mm but I really want to try 4x90 one day!
@@Skating_Squid Definitely true that there's no shortage of channels doing reviews, and the monetary investment each time would add up. I do think it would cast a wider net with the algorithm, more variety of channels you'd have related content with for the suggestions bar. Maybe not reviews so much as more diverse styles.
Worth mentioning for this vid--I've gotten some pretty great gear off of AliBaba Express, rockered frames seem to be big in Korea. My favorite frames cost 40 bucks lol.
Maybe get a PO Box so folks can mail you gear to mess with. Wish I could just let you borrow some stuff tbh, you seem trustworthy enough.
That’s a good point and oh wow that is very kind of you, do you have Instagram? If you message me on there and can talk more and potentially set something up!
Sorry I’m late
flying eagle rules!
appreciate this info on the big wheels/tri skates.: been contemplating a pair but i think i’m with you doesn’t seem necessary for the type of skating i like
Yeah it’s all about what your needs are, glad the video was helpful! 🦑🦑
I hated 110 wheels. Should have been happy with my fr1 4x 80. I’ll keep them to puts around on anyway.
sound is so compressed on this video, what's up with that ?
I know I had an issue with my field record I’m sorry about that. I tried to make it work as best I could :( gonna figure it out before next video!
Good to see you in big wheels bro, I always wanted to ask why you never use em...you still have fluid turns even on big wheels....
Haha thank you I should really practice with them more!
You need to shave good lord. Who do you think you are? Anyway Thank You Boo
I'm a huge fan of 3 110mm wheels or 100mm
The next evolution of inline skates will be hybrid between speed and comfort like you see the Rollerblade E2 and Powerslide Arise SL Freeskates. They also needs to make the shoe to have better cushioning I think. Regarding the tri skates and 4 wheels is that you can always change to 3x90mm which will gives you all the maneuverability you need for tricks. Triskates gives you more opportunities but with Endless frames, that will give you even more and you are losing nothing with that frame! For me 3x100 or 3x90 are the sweet spot.
I'm considering the Endless 4x90 frames for my Powerslides. Just gotta decide between the low version(can only do 3x100) or the regular version with the 110mm option lol
@@AlmostLakai94 take the LS they make the most sense.
@@pit9623 I ended up getting a pair of 3x110 skates but I'm still going to end up with the LS Endless so I have all the options lol
@@AlmostLakai94 the LR 90 version is only available for Trinity
@@pit9623 Luckily the skates I have are Powerslide so I think they have the adapter piece 😯🙏🏽
Cool Tri Skates man.
Hope you keep your hair long enough for 20k subs...
Haha I know right and thank you bro!
I don’t watch this channel but I like roller skating so I’ve been subscribed for a while
Awe thank you haha you should watch more, we got a lot of good content 😅🦑
@@Skating_Squid I seen some and they are great!
@@whatsgoodymygang2588 ayeee thank you!!
On the road to 20k!!! Keep up the good work
Great Vlog Bro!!
What's skating in Baltimore like? (If you skate there ever)
I actually haven’t had the chance to skate the streets up there but I’m planning on it soon!
@@Skating_Squid Cool!!
Just got my 3 wheels 110 in today and at first it feels so weird but I like the speed, hoping once I get them broken in it feels better.
It sucks I can barely stop now it feels so weird like I’m learning how to skate again
Interesting, I started skating on 110 then at some point swiched to 80 felt the same part from the height. Now it is interesting to try 110 again
How has it turned out now? Do you still have 3 110? And your reasons on what you liked and didn't like. Why you think you'd keep them or something too
where is that trail located???
Indian head rail trail in southern md
You should try out some mission skates a
Yeah definitely gotta get a pair of those one day! 💪🏻🦑
I definitely recommend Endless 4x90 frame. It’s a great middle ground between 80mm and 110mm. You stay low to the ground and still maintain that speed.
Maybe one day haha I think my style wouldn’t work as well with those but I do want to try them some day!
i would say 90 LS Trinity. It doesn't go any lower unless you mount smaller wheels, which you should definitely test. 276 mm frame length is just right if your shoe size is EU 43/44.
Small wheels for kids
lol what
