Looks like it was a fun rip around the city pathways. I know the 4x100 feels big and cumbersome on spins so I can't imagine the 110s. Bu that carving sensation on a rockered big wheel set-up is addictive and pure joy!
Really great video series on the NN Frames. I just bought the Rollerblade Twister 110 3WDs . . . and almost bought the NN Ronin 4X100s to expand upon them for skiing drills. That is until I just saw this video. My girlfriend and I got into skiing just about 3 months ago up at Mount Bachelor, OR. We been on the slopes up at Bachelor about 16 times since then. I'd say we are at an intermediate ski level now. We love it and I bought the blades to continue a focused off-season training regimen so I am ready to go next ski season. Looks like from your review that if one's primary focus on the blades is the intersection between blading and skiing then these are the frames and wheels to get. Lucky they will integrate with the RB 3WD 165mms. One last note: you mentioned that you love to ski, it would be great to see a video or two of you using your blades to train for skiing.
These look (too?) big indeed! Must be great for downhill and real muscle/endurance test on acceleration or climbs. One thing for sure - they do look good!
Awesome video! Definitely miss Portland. Those look smooth! I’m finally buying skates next month, I can’t wait to keep it rollin out here in Florida along the beach!
I agree but never felt the urge to spend exorbitant amount of money on frames or wheels or bearings. Stock frames are fine. Ebay sells cheap wheels by a guy called Yak. Bearings I use Bones reds
Grew up in tigard and skated portland heavily in the late 90s with the feinbergs, bj, Shane saviors etc. Looking to get back in to it for fitness reasons. Really enjoying the channel dude!

Haha thanks! Ya once you get a feel for the size it's no biggie. Also once you can skate backwards and do regular crossovers you can do them backwards.
I've only been to the Portland Waterfront once, but I immediately recognized it. My wife and used to head up to Oregon about once a year to help a friend with her booth, in the Beforetimes, when we could have music festivals in person. I don't think I was skating back then, though. We had some killer ramen in the city that day. Hey, how are you liking the Insta360 One R? I've been eyeing it for a while. I bought a cheapo $50 action cam a couple years ago, but it's been about as reliable as you'd expect a $50 camera to be (the only skate vid I've uploaded was shot using that)... Convincing the Mrs the upgrade is worth it being another issue...
Hello, could you help me with some questions? -Are you using mount 195 or UFS? -This frame only comes in rocker or is there a flat configuration? Thank you
@@ThirtyandRollin I tried to ask the owner some questions on Instagram but heard nothing back. I'd love to get these in UK, but I don't know anywhere that sells them
@@ThirtyandRollin Thanks! I'm thinking of getting either a 3x110 complete skate or a 4x110 for my twister edges for a more long distance and fitness focused setup. Also speed : D
@@ThirtyandRollin can you can describe the difference you feel between both? On reddit some people say the supreme slides better. I don't really see how they're both 85a. I think the hydrogens are just more costly because made in usa
@@kenmastersmaster To me the Surpreme's feel sluggish/dead compared to Hydrogens. The Hydrogens have more rebound/energy transfer which makes them feel harder for a fast roll performance. I also feel the grip is a bit more refined on the Hydrogens which in my opinion allows them to break free and slide when needed but hold an edge well when needed. I feel the Surpreme's feel too grippy and soft. You can slide them but I prefer the Hydrogen's for sliding. The durometer is a very basic wheel density measurement. Both are 85a like 85% of the urban street wheels on the market but the urethane, the mold and way the wheel is poured is what make the wheel unique.
@@ThirtyandRollin nice you should compare both back to back but on same wheel hub. I can't believe the urethane itself is that different. The design of the hubs makes a world of difference for rebound
This evening i was trying on my 90 wheels on a rugged area...Even though the wheels are big but as soon as it hit the rugged part it still have that ability to stop it jerkly. This is because of the small bearings. If bigger bearings are invented that the skating world would drastically be changed. Even though in a big wheels , but there are the ability to stop the skates. In this century we need big bearings. The wheels like 101 are too enough its only because of the bearings that does not allow to reduce all this shocks.
Sounds like bullshit to me. The size of the bearings shouldn't influence the rolling of ruff surfaces that much. If it where like that there would be many more bearing. But what influences your skating on these surfaces is how you transfer your weight....

Hi there. Does 4x110 gives a smoother ride on cobblestones thatn 3x110? There are a lot of cobblestone roads in my area.
You may notice a bit smoother but more stable. For smoothness you would need a bigger softer wheel such as a 3x125 at 85a
@@ThirtyandRollin I already own a 3x110. Would an increase to 125 be noticeable or minimal? Worth it??
