Can someone tell me why at 17:21
    White didn't play RxG7, BxG7, QxG7 mate. Or if rook doesn't take, RG8, black RxG8 or KH7, then QxG8, BxG7, RxG7 mate or QG7 mate?
Thank you in advance for any insight.

Thank you for playing my great great grandfather's opening. Yes, he would be very happy to see his brilliancy coming back to life again. It is a legacy in our family to keep on playing chess and spread this masterpiece around. I am currently around 1400 and hopefully I will make my way to 1500 with the family legacy. Thanks again for exposing such an exquisite gambit.

When you "lose the thread" in the endgame there are 3 options: 1) you're playing against a complete newbie, 2) you're playing against an engine, 3) you're playing against Magnus :P
