I love the "experience" gift. I have recently started to, and encourage my family to, buy/give my grandkids experiences....so far they have been given tickets to plays, a trip to a football match, piano lessons, and holidays. These gifts are so much more memorable. ☺

Such great tips!!! Extending on the gardening tip... dry the seeds from some of your produce and use them for next season planting. I did that with bell pepper and acorn squash seeds and without really thinking anything would come of them... I've got producing plants!!! Its like free food!
Anyway, great video!!! I will definitely be using several of your tips! Sending you and your family lots of love!!

I found the ones about sharing big ticket items really true and interesting. We don't have family here, but we live in a duplex with another couple and can share big pots, spin mop, hedge trimmer, big tools, etc. It's a lifesaver! Once we buy a house, I hope to spend more time getting to know our neighbors and sharing things back and forth.

Yes! Credit cards! We just got one that we use for grocery shopping and gas. We already know we can afford those items, so now we get points! For big purchases like vacations and such we have a separate credit card we use once a year for trips which we pay off over the course of the year and get points!!!

  • @SixStringSanity

The trip instead of present idea is so true, and something we implemented last year! My daughter is 9, and last year, instead of buying a bunch of Christmas presents, we took a family vacation over the weekend to Kalahari Indoor Waterpark. She had the time of her life! (She did still receive a few wrapped presents from out of town family, so she still had some of the "Christmas experience.") Now, she looks forward to our Christmas/her birthday/family vacation more than any presents she's gotten! She understands now that time with family, exploring new places, and creating memories and experiences are SO much more valuable than some material items that she will lose interest in or break within a few weeks. We are thankful!

Instant pot is one thing I didn't buy. A lot of my friends/family told me that I "needed" one. To be honest I don't! I plan my meals and use crock pots. I think it would have been a waste of money for me and just another appliance to store. 👍

She is fond of cold brew iced coffee, too, and what she does to save money is to buy JUST the coffee (black) and takes it home to store in the fridge. Then she uses about a third of it at a time, adds creamer, etc. That way, she is able to get 3 drinks from one! Also, I was wondering what your stuffed celery recipe was? Do you have a favorite?
