Living tiny eliminates a huge amount of stress. Everything is close and simple. Cleaning is easier. Owning less things but of higher quality means more thoughtfulness about immediate surroundings. When you get older and start forgetting why you went into one room, the last room is just four feet away. LOL
If you keep your cauli leaves and stalk and cook them in veggie stock with some dried herbs or curry spices then blend you get a gorgeous soup which is lovely and light for the warmer months or add in rice or potato in the winter for a heartier soup, add a little nutritional yeast on top for a lovely cheesy taste.
I have an estate sale business so I’ve seen the stress accumulation causes. People just keep buying and sometimes they have boxes of new items unopened. So I’m very conscious of this. I keep very little. I prefer good used items, things that are useful. I re-use and recycle things. I cook, read and spend time outdoors. Simple things make me the happiest.
Two years ago, we went down to one income so I could stay home with our son and our budgeting completely changed. I can no longer buy anything I want, but I find I don’t need much. We cook from scratch, and that makes the days fly by so there is no time for shopping aimlessly and we downsized our home from 4000 sq ft to 1400 sq ft. Some think this is a downgrade, but mentally and emotionally it’s been a major upgrade and I no longer feel in competition with others. Of course at times, buying something new is a necessity, but more often than not I am able to pick up “want” and even need items at thrift stores and estate sales. Kudos to you on slow living as well and for creating hygge in your home.
I’m so glad I read your comment. I have been wanting to upsize our home but I know it will cost a lot more and I’m wondering if a small space might be just enough.
Being in nature helps so much with your mental health. I too live in the countryside, I’m retired now after 40 years of a pressured working life. I’m also widowed. But I thank the universe every day for the job I loved, the marriage I had, my family and friends , my 2 dogs, and I now have an allotment where I grow my own vegetables and fruit, and I love to sew my own wardrobe. I am now a new subscriber, I think I’ve found a kindred spirit, x x
You are a girl after my own heart. I detest waste and recycle everything, even though I'm economicaly very stable. I cook everyday and absolutely ADORE it. I also grow most of my veggies . But, i think it's atrocious that in this modern day and age the system is deliberately making people poor. Shame on them !!!!
I have been shifting my life to a small village from a big city. There are mountains, fields, rivers, and clean water. The more I live in the village, the less money I use, and the more rich lifestyle. We can be more creative how to enjoy every day. I really agree with your video.

I live in an old farm cottage on the coast of the Isle of Arran , Scotland. I thought I would share a solution I use regarding the winter heating bills which have become very high. I have an old suitcase which I tuck away under the sofa. Inside it I keep an old duvet which was past it's time of use on a bed . I fold it concertina style. Then I can tuck between it either a hot water bottle or an old vintage ceramic footwarmer made of clay. The duvet fabric keeps the bottle's warmth for hours and hours. Otherwise on really cold days -it will get cold after an hour . I have known it to stay nice and warm for almost 5 or more hours. You can have the case there open with your feet inside the folds . I know how miserable it is if you cannot get your feet to stay warm. Maybe you dont have this issue ...but I am older. Anyway when I do this I am so cosy I even turn my heating off as long as I am dressed in layers with a rug on my lap/ The main point is that my electricity bills were less than expected last winter. Just an idea to help save money.
Cooking from scratch is likely to be cheaper & will certainly be healthier. You usually get more for your money. It depends on what you are cooking & if it’s a one off. You have to take cooking costs into account too. Planning meals. Shopping online & sticking to a budget. Meal prep & freezing surplus veg. Using all of your oven instead of just for one item. I use a food sealer so when I put meats, often divided, into the freezer they last longer & look better.
So beautiful and inspiring video. I am living a slow and simple life in Norway. I live a good life with little money. I save so much money because of my lifestyle, like you do. I like your dog, I am living with a Boarder Collie too. Sending you a hug from Norway 🌿💚
As a librarian, it makes me very happy to hear that you use the library. ❤ A great thing about the Norwegian library system is that you can use a National library search and order books from all over Norway to pick up at your local library. All for free of course. We don't have a lot of charity shops here, and getting second hand books can be harder most places than getting them from the library. Have you ever tried Better World Books? Trees are so soothing. I live in small town and I lay on my bed looking at a silver birch and the sky. I don’t see the houses all around me. I’m lucky to be ten miles from Wells Next The Sea, Holkham Beach and nature reserve and have a woodland minutes from my home.

Cooking basics from scratch and then freezing is simply one of the best ways to save money, even if its just soup for lunches. I started batch cooking first when I was studying and it has stuck ever since, don't get me wrong if I'm in say M&S I will buy something from the chiller to stick in the microwave. I also plan to try and grow veg/herbs this year for the first time. Hi, Even through some of my ancestors have been here in America over 375 years, I am 28% Scottish. My Great-grandmother was from the Cameron Line, and another was from the Crawford Line. I do have other Scottish lines. I would love to see Scotland.
When I was working in Europe and the Middle East, I spent as much time as I could in Scotland. Probably about 12 visits over 4 years along with trips to Ireland. Love the highlands. And I made certain I visited all the thrift stores I could find. Since I'm retired and on a pension I have very few expenses and my 160 acres are paid for. I forage wild foods and garden. Along with my livestock I'm headed to be self sustainable. I do miss my holidays in the highlands.
I think we have a lot in common. First time watching your channel, very serene. My happy place is the beach but I think I would be just as happy in a tiny cabin in the woods. I am fortunate to be retired and being able to have the company of a little Terrier here in California, the States. I look forward to viewing more of your weekly videos.
I buy all my books second hand or borrow them (mainly from my mum as she has a very similar taste to me). I also try and donate books back to charity shops after I’ve read them, unless I would give it a 5 star review and I want to keep it! I also do the same with clothes - I buy second hand and donate anything I don’t wear anymore back to charity shops.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Hello from Bristol! Something another RUclipsr said when saving money / stopping spending was to find very TIME CONSUMING, free hobbies, which is so true isn't it! I too LOVE the library, my nearest library is just 8 minutes walk from my house so I don't see how i'll ever buy a brand new book again, also didn't know that you can order any book you fancy online and they will post it to your nearest library - hours of fun! x
One of the ways my husband and I 12:30 save money is - on the rare occasion that we treat ourselves and go out to eat, we choose something on the menu that we both like and we split or share a meal. It’s like going out to eat for half price. In the summer we go to the zoo or flower gardens etc. and pack a picnic. It is quite entertaining and free.
If you go to restaurants with discounted gift cards will make it less expensive. Also check if they have a loyalty program. If you get a buy one get one coupon, save the second meal for home. Combine with a discounted gift card you save allot of money. Just a thought! 🎉🎉🎉
Big ups to everyone working effortlessly trying to earn a living while building wealth. I’m 62 and my husband 65 we are both retired with over $3 million in net worth and no debts. Currently living smart and frugal with our money. Saving and investing lifestyle made it possible for us this early even till now we earn monthly through passive income...
Alright phyllis, speaking in general terms, investing requires a good amount of knowledge. That's why it's essential to have a solid support system like a financial counselor, especially when picking out assets. I've been working with Regina Louise Collaro, who is an investment advisor at a registered wealth management company. I can't recommend her enough; my financial journey has been fantastic thanks to her. She's quite well-known for her services, and she helped me achieve financial stability through investments. Now, I benefit from her passive income strategies every month. So, I'd strongly suggest finding a reliable investment advisor for yourself
Regina Louise Collaro is based in the United States and can work with anybody wherever they stay. If you would like more information about her, you can conduct a search online.
personally, I'm blessed and realizing I'm not the only one working with Regina Louise Collaro. I will consider myself lucky. I've been able to feed and make a living through her advice and great work. For such a person as Regina, I owe her gratitude, support and endless prayers as it is not easy to gain access to such a competent and reliable adviser. Who isn't just wise but has all it takes to handle an investment and is good at what she does..
Getting to know and identify wild plants definitely saves money if you live in an area that's not too polluted. Stinging nettle is perhaps the most ignored and under-valuated plant there is and it is so much more nutritious than spinach. Savory nettle pancakes is my favourite!
I’ve learned so much about nettles. I was curious to find out what plants are beneficial to use as herbal remedies. Pretty much all the plants we see can be used. I’ve collected nettles before flowering and dried them for tea. Incredible that all those suffering with covid only need drink nettle tea, take a tincture and they’d be right as rain. Nettles, probably the moots beneficial plant to humans.
Thank you for the video Miss, if I may say so you have an incredibly beautiful smile. A few ways I'm saving more is using clubcard coupons and cashback in the supermarket, buying from the reduced section, selling what I don't need on ebay, keeping high interest fixed savings accounts (look into the challenger banks) and waiting a while before I make a non-essential purchase to avoid impulse buying. I have something I want but will make myself wait until Black Friday :).
I love everything you say! I love books! Love nature my number 1 in my life!! Love cooking and gardens and decafinated coffee! But can't wait to retire and enjoy more.💜💙💚☕️

Just watching all your videos on catch up. I couldn't agree more about the library. I'm lucky enough to be member at 2 as I live on the border of 2 separate council areas. However, if I buy 2nd hand, which isn't often, as I have so many on the go from said libraries, I always try to buy from other websites like World of books because Amazon is an awful company(ethical consumer). Oh and I buy books at charity shops as you say. I'm really enjoying your content and steps towards a minimal life.
I just love your video and your pup is very blessed precious! I noticed the counter top space in your kitchen...looks like a great place to make a flower basket of cooking herbs. You’ll have it right there, year round, and not cluttery due to the frequency of use. Best wishes from Wasilla, Alaska!

Lovely tips, beautiful calm video, I decided a couple of years ago to home Ed my two youngest- this has naturally led to slower living, I buy 90% second hand, we love the library ( and in England you can order books into library if they don’t have what your looking for) xx love & light blessings x
Hi Molly, you always inspire me! I also enjoy going to the library and getting lost in between the pages of the books. So many wonderful subjects, how to garden, how to be creative with different hobbies and there's always a great novel to curl up with. I live in Australia and in my local council area, we can borrow books from any library and they'll deliver it to your closest library for collection. What a fantastic free service. I would really encourage people to utilise all free public resources like the art gallery, the museum and local festivals etc. There's so much fun to be had for free. 🦋
We are lucky to have a charity bookshop in our nearest town which I buy from and donate to. Then in our county town a few miles away there is a book depository where you can take up to 3 books a day for free. It was set up to try and save books from being thrown away.
Dear Molly, I love way you are helping people live more simply. I to live simply and love cooking and preparing healthy and sustainable food. Well done and love Philippa, Australia

Hey there, watching you from Nova Scotia. Even though I live in a beautiful province, I'm still envious of where you live. Like you, I love to read and the majority of my books are used and I get them from an online store here in Canada. I don't live in a tiny home but in a small A Frame cottage (very old one) overlooking a small lake just outside of my small fishing town. It's heaven. Much of my clothing is 2nd hand as well but I've taken up sewing again. I can't get fabric here being it's such a small town but again, I found an online Canadian fabric store with great prices and great choices. There is so much one can do to save money and with the inflation covering the world right now, I can't stress how important it is to save every penny and to know the difference between a need and a want. Thanks for such a nice video.
Molly another awesome & inspirational video. Yes it's getting more difficult to save money at the moment. Thanks for sharing your tips and love 🥰 the video and cooking your own food is best.
Just found your channel and subscribed. This is just my cup of tea. I’m an introvert, live alone and love animals and nature. And I love books. But….please use a bookmark. Turning the corners down of a book is a desecration in my eyes. 👍😃
I enjoyed your video. The music was so relaxing and I appreciate the tips you provided, especially about how mindfulness and gratitude affects many areas in your life.
Ahh, another beautiful video from you, I really do appreciate your work, I came across your videos a little while ago and was intrigued to watch and when I realised you live in my most favourite place ever I was hooked, we have had numerous holidays in and around Aviemore over the past 30+ years! We have stayed in numerous places...mainly Rothemurchus camp site but also Newtonmore, Kincraig, Dulnairn Bridge and Laggan to name but a few! On one of your other videos I loved watching you go into the local farm shop - the school shop on the Ski road, also Tesco of all places! Haha, knowing we have been in those places numerous times, we have been on tons of walks and explored all the surrounding areas around Aviemore, your walk to the magical Green Loch brought back so many happy memories, what a beautiful RUclips channel you have, thank you for bringing so many happy memories to me with each of your videos, lots of love, Debbie from Sunderland England xxxxx

Hi, Even through some of my ancestors have been here in America over 375 years, I am 28% Scottish. My Great-grandmother was from the Cameron Line, and another was from the Crawford Line. I do have other Scottish lines. I would love to see Scotland.
I always buy used books off of eBay. They are usually in great condition at a fraction of the price. I can usually find a hard cover for $4 or $5.
I am grateful for algorithm that leads me to your channel.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Hello from Bristol! Something another RUclipsr said when saving money / stopping spending was to find very TIME CONSUMING, free hobbies, which is so true isn't it! I too LOVE the library, my nearest library is just 8 minutes walk from my house so I don't see how i'll ever buy a brand new book again, also didn't know that you can order any book you fancy online and they will post it to your nearest library - hours of fun! x
Wish I can also get a small land and be away of everything , love it ❤
One of the ways my husband and I 12:30 save money is - on the rare occasion that we treat ourselves and go out to eat, we choose something on the menu that we both like and we split or share a meal. It’s like going out to eat for half price. In the summer we go to the zoo or flower gardens etc. and pack a picnic. It is quite entertaining and free.
Lovely idea 😊
Not all restaurants will allow this. Many times my anorexic daughter and I have ordered one meal, two plates, cutlery to be told no. We can’t share.
@@willow9790 yes- this is true! In those cases one of us just order’s a salad and we still share.
Thanks for you video. I will try to slow down and simplify. Right after my two Amazon packages arrive today.😮
If you go to restaurants with discounted gift cards will make it less expensive. Also check if they have a loyalty program. If you get a buy one get one coupon, save the second meal for home. Combine with a discounted gift card you save allot of money. Just a thought! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Molly, I thoroughly enjoyed this, there’s a calm and peaceful aura here that is so uplifting!
Love watching your videos. They have a calming effect every time . xx
I'm so glad 😊
There is something so satisfying about chopping vegetables!
There really is! 😊
A lovely calm moment in a busy day, thank you for the lovely episode
I'm so glad you enjoyed 💚.
Your lifestyle is a dream come true for me
😊💚
SCAMMERS! Regina Collaro is a SCAMMER!!

Getting to know and identify wild plants definitely saves money if you live in an area that's not too polluted. Stinging nettle is perhaps the most ignored and under-valuated plant there is and it is so much more nutritious than spinach. Savory nettle pancakes is my favourite!
Thank you! I'd love to learn more about foraging and we do have plenty of nettles!
Nettle pancakes sound delicious 😊
Thank you for the video Miss, if I may say so you have an incredibly beautiful smile.
A few ways I'm saving more is using clubcard coupons and cashback in the supermarket, buying from the reduced section, selling what I don't need on ebay, keeping high interest fixed savings accounts (look into the challenger banks) and waiting a while before I make a non-essential purchase to avoid impulse buying. I have something I want but will make myself wait until Black Friday :).
I love everything you say! I love books! Love nature my number 1 in my life!! Love cooking and gardens and decafinated coffee! But can't wait to retire and enjoy more.💜💙💚☕️
Hi Suzanne, how's your day going with you?
Greetings from Belize I live on a homestead in bze once live in Glasgow love your videos thank you .

Yes I see the place you’re working it’s helping stress-free
Thanks!

Just found your channel it has come at the right time as we’re having building work done and a new bathroom money is going through like water after this is all done I just want to sit back and take it slowly with money and life loving your channel
Welcome! I hope you find this video useful :)
You're adorable in many ways...thanks for the inspiration❤
Your kitchen is adorable!
I just love your video and your pup is very blessed precious! I noticed the counter top space in your kitchen...looks like a great place to make a flower basket of cooking herbs. You’ll have it right there, year round, and not cluttery due to the frequency of use.
Best wishes from Wasilla, Alaska!
I'm so happy to see another Peng Shepard fan! I highly recommend The Book of M, if you haven't read it already. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm never far to this kind of Living not a rich not so poor just an average surviving kind of people. I like your videos it kind'a same to our situation keep doing this girl. 😊🥰😉
I loved The Salt Path, which I read after your recommendation. I’ll look into these as well. ❤❤
I'm glad! Its such a good book 😊💚
Lovely tips, beautiful calm video, I decided a couple of years ago to home Ed my two youngest- this has naturally led to slower living, I buy 90% second hand, we love the library ( and in England you can order books into library if they don’t have what your looking for) xx love & light blessings x
Yes the library is a wonderful resource! 😊💚
I completely agree! 😊💚
We are lucky to have a charity bookshop in our nearest town which I buy from and donate to. Then in our county town a few miles away there is a book depository where you can take up to 3 books a day for free. It was set up to try and save books from being thrown away.
What a wonderful idea! 😊
You live a magical life!! ❤
I found your lifestyle very interesting. Enjoyed the peek. Passed it on to my daughter. Thank you.
Foraging for some food around us would be both exciting and cost-saving 😊
I agree!
I pray daily & do yoga 3 times a week & do meditation so I absolutely agree with practice to reduce stress wholeheartedly.
Thanks Molly lovely tips. You're an inspiration💚

Hi Molly! Beautiful video and helpful. Thank you. Love the scenery and your home and dog.im in the US on Ling Island wanting to luve a slower and simpler life. I used to take care of a lovely border collie named Zoe. Love her. Stay well. 💕
Wise words, thank you :)
Hi Juanita, how's your day going with you?
Scotland looks beautiful but not everyone can live in such cold weather ! the endless dark days would drawn me in depression very quickly
Molly another awesome & inspirational video. Yes it's getting more difficult to save money at the moment. Thanks for sharing your tips and love 🥰 the video and cooking your own food is best.
Thank you! 😊
Lovely! These recipes sounds great!
Well this is my new favourite channel!! Adore it! Also the fact that you have a BC is the ultimate 💗🥰
Aw thank you! 😊💚
Love this, and can I say what a beautiful dog.... I do love a collie ❤
Just found your channel and subscribed. This is just my cup of tea. I’m an introvert, live alone and love animals and nature. And I love books. But….please use a bookmark. Turning the corners down of a book is a desecration in my eyes. 👍😃
It hurts my soul to see pages turned down or left open face down.
Lovely to get a insight into your lifestyle & values Molly.
Love watching your weekly video blogs. 💚
Aw thank you! 😊
I enjoyed your video. The music was so relaxing and I appreciate the tips you provided, especially about how mindfulness and gratitude affects many areas in your life.
This is healing vlog 🌿 greetings from Philippines 😊
Thanks for the tip about the sea salt clothes 😊 I didn’t know they sold some of there stock from there
You're welcome! 😊
Thank you Debbie! I'm so glad you enjoy my content 😊💚
