My father taught me many things about driving. The most important was what to do when you hear a siren or see emergency lights. First get out of the way as fast as you can safely do so. Next, stay out of the way for a while; emergency vehicles are rarely alone, specially if they are police or fire. They travel in groups. If you just saw one, the odds are good more are coming from all directions. I remember seeing why in upstate NY while visiting friends. The central alarm of the fire department started to wail and my friend told me to pull over and stop. In less than 3 seconds people were running or driving real fast to the station; many from their regular jobs. It felt longer than that but 3 minutes later the roads were clear and the fire trucks on their way all because people pulled over and waited. You never know what the responders are doing, but they need to do it fast. Do your part and get out of the way.
People get so absorbed in their driving they forget to check that rear view mirror as often as they should. I like to know what's behind as well as what's in front of me.....
It would be correct but today you can even hear the siren until they are already on your tail. There I actually been talks and news articles about this across the US. One thing that fails is that most officers don't even know how to properly use the siren they are just not sounds coming from a speaker. Theses sounds are tones and they have different frequencies to penetrate.
This was awesome 👌 👏 👍! I wish it would have shown more, what an incredible pursuit! Great job to all the agencies involved! My uttermost respect goes out to law enforcement for their dedicated services to trying to keep our communities safe!❤
What the heck?!?!? 😮that’s how fast & crazy these days get! People!!!!! This is why it’s extremely important to pay attention to what is going on when you are driving. Look in all mirrors, don’t play music so loud you can’t hear. Someone’s life depends on how fast they get to you to help you or get you to the hospital!
@@dc741 that’s possibly a very accurate statement but there are some of us that are still able to function correctly behind the wheel. I’m sure we are the minority 🤪but still, we are trying 😂
And don't camp out in the left lane when you don't have to be there, and put the damn phones away. Anyone caught texting while driving should have their license taken away for at least a year, first offense. 2nd offense, 5 years. 3rd, for the rest of one's life.
Even holding a phone in the uk you get your license with points, and can lose it, being in an accident and having opened your phone to see text or even read text, you get fined and banned. Don’t think you can hide it they can check when the phone was opened.
This chase was wild af, wow. That Lexus LC500 is a quick car and handles well. They did good to keep up with him, granted the helicopter really helped them here. Once off the highways however the chase was so sketchy. But bad guys are caught, solid driving by all officers
The helicopters was the only thing that helped them sense if they didn't have a helicopter the suspect would've escaped since most police cars aren't that fast and handle that well since they mostly have that extra weight and also not too powerful engines, as this pass year I have seen over 20 high speed police chases gets called off or they lost them cause there vehicles aren't that fast compared to other vehicles especially when theses fast cars and or suvs getting easier to buy due to resale value and how easy to remove the governor and that they can be easily tuned nowadays too, as a helicopter is basically needed for every car chase.
SCOOPER has the very best and most captivating chases; I'm holding my breath as the FHP cruiser works its way around cars that don't move over; even though there are lights, sirens and honking.
This has to be one of the scariest high speed pursuits I have watched. The risk to life and limb was severe. Any mistake and many people would be seriously hurt.
1) Absolute mega props to the officer's driving. 2)Would have like to have seen more of the conclusion. 3). Kind of hard to pull over for the cops on a busy freeway, but it seemed like some didn't even try. Stay safe officers, we need you.
At the speed they are going, it's best not to for your safety and the officer safety. Just slow down and stay in your line now if the traffic was tight yes move over .
Thought the officer whos cam we were watching was going fast .. till I saw the other blow past him and out of sight in seconds !! What driving :) Great work.
Here in Brazil, a chase would never take 36 minutes for these reasons: If on a motorcycle: if the criminal does not have an accident, ROCAM arrests If you go by car: the bandit hits the wall, the pole or other vehicles If ROTA is the one chasing, the bandit doesn't even run away because he knows it's the best thing to do
Craziest chase I’ve seen look difficult as hell for the police can’t imagine how much more difficult that was for the driver without the sirens and lights making it through that traffic
Omg I remember this! I live in south Florida and this chase went on forever. I heard all the commotion from my house and was like it’s just another regular day in paradise lol
Since no one else wants to say it. This was one reckless AF pursuit. Like they're passing on the left and the right, cutting through the gore and all kinds of other reckless near misses. When you have this many officers all over the road you disorient commuters and they end up reacting adversely not know if they should move left or right its just safer to stay where you are. Not to mention they had a whole helicopter on station. There was no need for some of what was transpiring. To me this translates to the on duty sergeant or pursuit commander did not have a accurate picture of what was really going on. Someone called out speeds at 90mph. Lies. Well above it. I see a bunch of officers racing to see who can get paid administrative leave as the result of a OIS. Officer involved Shooting. Entertaining until some innocent family is killed due to all the cowboy shenanigans going on in this video.
I actually have seen this chase before, but from the news helicopter's viewpoint. That second guy was very hard to catch. He swims, runs across multiple streets, and then hides inside a house where he is finally captured. Terrifying really!
By far the scariest part of this pursuit was how many left lane loafers and drivers failing to yield to emergency vehicles. Law enforcement needs a nation wide campaign with steep fines for loafing in the left lane.
I feel the same way about those idiots in the left lane. I only use the inside lane for passing. If there's no slower vehicles ahead in the center or outside lane, I move into either one of them. Another similar issue on major highways is drivers going too slow, causing a lot of traffic. Then there's those heavy duty vehicles that are nearly side-by-side with another heavy duty vehicle, causing delays. I've seen vehicles only going 40 mph in a 55 mph zone, causing a whole line of traffic. And I've seen plenty of tractor trailers and other heavy duty vehicles in the center lane traveling nearly stationary to another similar vehicle in the outside lane instead of passing before getting into the outside lane.
We need a major change in lawmakers & the general attitudes of ppl where driving is concerned. Getting a driver's license should require having more education & tougher testing. Renewing should require tougher testing too.
That was one scary chase, for sure. I'm shocked by how many people on the road seem to be asleep. Yeah, you might miss the first unit that came flying up on you... but after multiple cop cars go flying past at twice your speed... it seems like it would get your attention enough to wake just about everyone to completely wide awake and alert. They should put limits on Xanax for freeway cruising. "Speed kills" but oblivious drivers are deadly. All my respect to those officers risking their lives trying to catch the bad guys. It looked like they called off the pursuit but when it got active again, all hell broke loose. Besides the danger they face as they run right into the thick of things... the thousands upon thousands of unwitting citizens makes it all the more difficult. That was probably the most intense and bravest display of police determination I've ever seen. WOW! I only saw the one that they grabbed. I hope they got all of those thugs and I especially hope some wimpy DA's don't just kick them loose in a few days to go back out to the way of crime. That was as intense as the CA Bank of America holdup years ago...
After watching so many chases of the Arkansas State Troopers & Police, I now understand how important it is to pit the suspect asap. These chases should never been allowed to go this long. I bet the Officers get super angry at policy!!
I occasionally see drivers with earbuds on although that gets harder to see as year after year more cars have ultra dark tinted windows to hide evidence whatever the driver is doing (such as using the phone or eating).
Driving that fast in that kind of traffic is completely reckless, if the chopper is right with the suspect then there's no need to endanger people like that, just have neighbor towns or county's police take over. You can't expect people to move when there's no where to go, these cops need to calm the hell down.
Great job!! To all the officers involved but what pissed me off is the heck didn't anyone move out the way of the officers trying to get through?? All in All GREATJOB!!!!! 👍🏾
The ignorance of drivers is mind boggling. If somebody flys past you and is speeding recklessly maybe you should look in your mirrors to see if a cop is chasing them and get the f*** out of the way. The law says keep right except to pass.
Yup. All those Chargers and Tauruses with bullbars and I've never seen ONCE the MDPD doing a PIT maneuver. Hopefully the new Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office will grow some balls.
that trooper was practically foaming at the mouth to be the one to get this guy.... even to the extent he had to lock up his brakes at one point to avoid crashing into another officer. This whole pursuit seems to be fueled on adrenaline and nothing more.
Along with permission to pit. They really need a shoot to kill order. Like brazil has once there on the highway the chase chopper uses a machine gun through the roof until the vehicle stops. Normally you don't have to worry about aproching the car after that.
@@Zelinc And that's why they run because they know the police will not shoot at their moving car. They have an 18% success rate at escape in California; I wonder what evasion success the suspects have in Florida.
SUGGESTION - After seeing AGAIN AND AGAIN how slow cars move out of the way (or not at all) on interstates, local streets, and more - people looking at their phones, e-devices, car's e-dashboard, and more - with windows closed and stereo on - I will say FL Gov DeSantis & administration (or wherever you live) should introduce a bill: if the officer's dash cam shows your plate (and you fail to move out of the way, fail to move out of the interstate left lane, etc), then a fine gets mailed AND emailed to the home address of the car (not a fine on the driver's license): if you don't pay the fine (say, $150 or so) in 30 or 45 days - your car's registration cannot be renewed; after 90 days - the registration is suspended or revoked AND the fine is doubled or tripled. To reinstate the registration, pay all the fines! Remember - it might be your right to own a car as property. IT IS NOT A RIGHT to have a driver license! It is a privilege that is acquired by passing a written test, eye test, and driving test: you don't pass, you cannot drive! SOOO - if you fail to pull over to let emergency vehicle(s) pass you, your car will be subject to ticket & fines; if you don't pay, fines increase & registration is suspended or revoked. .
There's a new left lane going into effect sometime soon, June(?). It's very stringent, fine is high, and the FHP is going to enforce it with due diligence according to press releases. It covers any interstate and state road, including within cities. Most of the main roads in cities are actually state roads, past hiways, before population expansion. Our left lane campers, out of state left lane campers, have a big surprise coming.

@@jonathanbeyer326 Yeah……NO KIDDIN’!
Unfortunately, most drivers are idiots.
Your father told u correct but I’ll say expect the unexpected even if that’s an emergency vehicle
If you witness someone frantically passing you on the shoulder at 120 MPH, there just might be a fleet of cops following.
I feel like I ran a quarter mile after watching this
This was awesome 👌 👏 👍! I wish it would have shown more, what an incredible pursuit! Great job to all the agencies involved! My uttermost respect goes out to law enforcement for their dedicated services to trying to keep our communities safe!❤

The way that pursuing officer " oozed" thu that crowd.... Mastery!
Most people are high these days.
@@dc741 that’s possibly a very accurate statement but there are some of us that are still able to function correctly behind the wheel. I’m sure we are the minority 🤪but still, we are trying 😂
See my post elsewhere.
Just AWESOME !!! Thank you from Canada 🇨🇦

Thank you Officers for keeping Florida safe and holding criminals accountable.
After seeing that Idiots In Cars Compilation, I'm convinced that some drivers have a special talent for making the roads a dangerous place.
Here in Brazil, a chase would never take 36 minutes for these reasons:
If on a motorcycle: if the criminal does not have an accident, ROCAM arrests
If you go by car: the bandit hits the wall, the pole or other vehicles
If ROTA is the one chasing, the bandit doesn't even run away because he knows it's the best thing to do
Absolutely brilliant display of skillful driving amd awesome teamwork by the cops.👏
What skill?.
Craziest chase I’ve seen look difficult as hell for the police can’t imagine how much more difficult that was for the driver without the sirens and lights making it through that traffic
Oh, very easy, when you have no regard for life, even your own.
Thank you FHP for the nice tour of South Florida 😂
35:39 They lifted bro airborne! LOL!
I guess the little fella just needed a big hug. A BIG hug.
Chases like that are just as dangerous as getting into a shootout. Glad all those officers made it home safely.
Great job FHP!
After watching so many chases of the Arkansas State Troopers & Police, I now understand how important it is to pit the suspect asap.
These chases should never been allowed to go this long. I bet the Officers get super angry at policy!!
I just started watching the video and can say FHP are some bad asses! Wow I am amazed watching them.
That was very intense!!👍
Weird how in some places no one was moving over.
some drivers are deaf and oblivious ro what is behind them.
I occasionally see drivers with earbuds on although that gets harder to see as year after year more cars have ultra dark tinted windows to hide evidence whatever the driver is doing (such as using the phone or eating).
Everyone in FL is on Meth or on their death bed.
Ignorance and entitlement
Driving that fast in that kind of traffic is completely reckless, if the chopper is right with the suspect then there's no need to endanger people like that, just have neighbor towns or county's police take over. You can't expect people to move when there's no where to go, these cops need to calm the hell down.
Dang, I left South Florida back in 94 and do not miss that traffic one bit. Hats off the the PD's involved.
These officers are so brave. The speeds are unbelievable
Great job!! To all the officers involved but what pissed me off is the heck didn't anyone move out the way of the officers trying to get through?? All in All GREATJOB!!!!! 👍🏾
I hate living here because of traffic like this every single day
Can't wait to move next month - F south FL
I'm amazed at the number of cars THAT DON'T pull over !!
The ignorance of drivers is mind boggling. If somebody flys past you and is speeding recklessly maybe you should look in your mirrors to see if a cop is chasing them and get the f*** out of the way. The law says keep right except to pass.

After seeing AGAIN AND AGAIN how slow cars move out of the way (or not at all) on interstates, local streets, and more - people looking at their phones, e-devices, car's e-dashboard, and more - with windows closed and stereo on - I will say FL Gov DeSantis & administration (or wherever you live) should introduce a bill:
if the officer's dash cam shows your plate (and you fail to move out of the way, fail to move out of the interstate left lane, etc), then a fine gets mailed AND emailed to the home address of the car (not a fine on the driver's license): if you don't pay the fine (say, $150 or so) in 30 or 45 days - your car's registration cannot be renewed; after 90 days - the registration is suspended or revoked AND the fine is doubled or tripled.
