I like him. I was very slow to join his bandwagon, but he's very interesting.
I'm impressed by his growth. In 2020 his poor footwork led to errant throws, but what I see here is that he solved it in two ways:
1.) He throws side arm on a lot of his short and mid distance throws. This is a faster and smoother throw action and allows him to play more reactively when he wants to as well.
2.) Faster players- this allows him to be better at deep balls because he can throw to spots reliably.
Very impressed by his growth. He is gonna need to work on that footwork though. Some of his low passes wouldnt be that way if he had better footwork
He's gotta learn to take snaps under center in the NFL but I think that'll be easier then his footwork
And he’s played ever since the 4Q of this game with an undisclosed rib injury (it’s obvious he hurt it here)
Hope he heals up in time for the playoffs

Penix has a wonderful arm - would be a great fit at the Bears. Wouldn't work at the Pats right now so Williams or Nix for me as they can rush better than Penix.

@@kelvinlamarjonesLmao, Basing it off of one game where UW's running back was hurt and Michigan didn't even need to think about the run along with a holding penalty that changed the game in the 4th. Not to mention literally none of these other highly touted QB's played Michigan either. People have bad games. And the idea that Texas and Oregon aren't real defenses is pretty silly as well.

Holds the ball too long, doesn't trust his eyes, really sloppy feet and odd throwing mechanics with an unusual arm angle that leads to some batted balls. Doesn't throw with touch, throws every ball hard, and doesn't move in the pocket well. He has a strong arm to throw deep when hes given a lot of time. 3rd round prospect, but Odunze and Polk are fucking awesome.

iiiii think if he cleans up his mechanics he will be elite. I wish i could say the exact same for Drake Maye cause hes a similar prospect in terms of them both having bad mechanics, holding the ball long, not trusting their eyes. but his game is way too carson wentz for me. anyway. Penix could be a steal if he sits for a year

He has odunze and other good playmakers. He can’t handle a blitz , not that accurate, and one reads. I also don’t like his pocket presence. Good arm though only positive
Not accurate is just not true, he’s in the 99th percentile for avoiding sacks and Daniels at LSU had better weapons. He could use better touch but he’s a great prospect
