Tacoma junk? I love how you clowns make a statement that is not factual and rediculous. It is a new model year. There is no data to support that it is junk, as it hasn"t sold enough vehicles to determine if it is bad or good. However a Toyota memo I found on the internet states that there were 4 Tacoma engine failures to date of of 70,000 plus Tacomas sold. I would take that number anyday. And if you did a little research, the new turbo 4 is a better performing engine than the previous V6. If you want to debate me on this I would love for you to do so.

I unloaded my Tacoma TRD PRO and purchased a Frontier. The Nissan is so much nicer in every way. Added bonus? Getting 21 mpg with 310 hp real engine. Tacoma got 15 with no power.

The New Tacoma is getting better gas mileage than the older model. The SR5 is getting 21Mpg City, 26MPG hwy. Where do you people get this nonsense from. Please respond.

Specifically how is it better. Have you personally tested both side by side? All of the tests on the new Tacoma turbo 4 have shown its better than the V6. The old V6 was not that great a motor anyway, just very reliable.

How specifically is it losing its way?? The new model is currently outselling its competition 3 to 1. The same ratio it always has. Its resale value is still tops of all trucks sold except the Tundra, and its reliabilty should not change from before where it is tops in the industry. The price is high for the new Model biut it is a top quality vehicle, always has been. I have had four Toyota trucks since 1982, and have had only one problem with any of them. I will continue to buy them.
My family has been a faithful Toyota family for nearly 40 plus years, this time around since I’m in the market for a midsize 4WD my loyalty is going to either Nissan pro 4X or the GMC canyon elevation. It’s time to say good bye to Toyota.

SR5 for 46k, no thanks! my 23 Pro4x was 44k fully loaded out the door . The 2024 Tacomas are nice sure but 5-20k better than a Pro4X, absolutely not. Toyota dropped the ball on pricing and theyll just sit on the lots

Lol, someone is buying them. They have sold 70,000 plus already. The closest competitor the frontier has sold about 25,000 units. By the way Car and driver in its test of The 2024 model said it is far better than the older model.

The Tacomas engines are not having such problems as it is a completly different engine. 4 engine failures out of 70,000 plus trucks sold.
The frontier is the only reliable truck left. Everything else is turbos and 4 cylinders. Yet instead of making the trucks smaller, they made them bigger

PROX is 2wd. PRO4X is 4x4.. so the PROX will be around 3k-4k cheaper in price.

I’d love to see you review a GMC Canyon AT4X, ZR2. Ranger Raptor….. hell just anything else. I’m a Toyota Fanboy, but $50k for a 4Door , 2-seater truck ? Have actually sat in the backseat ? I test drove a New TRD Off-road and then sat in the backseat. Unless you’re 4ft tall, or don’t have the lower portion of your legs …. Toyota is selling you an Illusion of a Rear seat, kinda like a fake hood scoop 😂

If I didn’t have my 22 Tacoma, I would definitely buy a new frontier as they are reasonably priced. Nissan of Portland has a few PRO4x for 42,000.00.

I really like the new Tacoma, my wife just got the Grand Highlander and that drivetrain is fantastic. Went to my local dealer, it was going to be $48000 minimum to get me into a TRD off-road. Not gonna happen. You can build a $43000 Trd off-road on Toyotas website, where are these $43000 Trd off-road Tacomas?
You should be able to get one cheaper than 48,000 for sure I will keep looking around a lot of dealerships in our offer and at least $3000 off. Thanks for the reply and the feedback my friend. Not quite 3000 but pretty close to 3000 in my area around 2500 right now but I will find a dealership that’s willing to takeoff 3000 you should also consider the SR5 with the cold weather package or just an SR5 4 x 4, save a little bit of money and they are doing big discount on those trucks.

From a styling perspective my only gripe with frontier and titan is the grill its not seamlessly integrated but rather slapped on like a after thought

You can get a loaded pro4x for the same price as a sr5 taco. No comparison. Btw, that frontier was a 2wd truck.

Interesting the first 6 of 8 commits suggest Frontier. Also will add Nissan sales up 16 percent this quarter. Also Tundra sales are way up. But mostly because of HUGE discounts. Also it looks like Yoda has a fix or different main bearing part for the Tundra. If you are out of warranty on a blown Tundra those parts are crazy expensive. Even with a short block repair expect 60 hour labors. 6K easily. Wish Yota would offer crate motors like Ford/GM.

The reason many are considering the Frontier over the new Tacoma is 1# for the N/A V6 & 2# for the excessive pricing. The new Tacoma on average is about $10k more than the frontier. When you compare the additional benefits you gain from the tacoma over the frontier which is small, does not justify the extra cost for the consumer. Unless you do it for the badge, it’s not a good value over the Frontier if your goal is to own it for regular truck use and some.
10,000 more is a lot ! But I think the new Tacoma is still the truck people really want!
I'd walk in ND before I'd drive an electric vehicle and or a nissan.

As of this date the Tacoma has sold around 70,000 plus Trucks. It is outselling the Frontier the closest competitor 3 to 1. It is killing everyone else.

Frontier has a v6 and made in the USA. Tacoma 4cylinder turbo made in Mexico and more expensive. Trump says not to support Mexican made vehicles.
