- Why You Should Backup Your Windows Registry
In this video we will we take a look at how import it is to make regular registry backups. The Windows Registry is a very important and plays a big part in the Windows operating system.
The Windows Registry database has all the configurations and settings need by hardware and software components of the computer. So if your computer registry becomes corrupt or damaged, hardware and software for that computer would not work. So when you get hit by malware or you install new drivers or programs, this will make changes to the registry.
This is when you can run into problems, computer wont startup, black screen of death, blue screen of death, stop error messages or windows features not working correctly, these are just the tip of the iceberg to what can go wrong with a computer.
So you can see the importance of making backup of the computers registry, this will let you restore the computer back to a time when the computer was working correctly.
This will save you from having to format the computer and put it back to factory settings.

Very, very useful. Thanks!
I do this at least twice a week to make sure my windows stays stable, as well as backing up my files and system... May be overkill but I do a lot of video and photo editing, as well as some coding for certain things that would be really time consuming and costly to lose or be damaged. This is very important step in todays use of computing because of how easy it is for something nasty to be installed on your computer, or you messing with something in your registry of which you have no idea what it does. Good tips britec, looking forward to your next video!
Thanks for this 👍
You're welcome 👍
Thanks Brian :-D
Bloody hell, ive been using the really old version of Erunt for donkeys years, it auto starts, and ive found its registry backups so dam handy :-D.
I admit Ive screwed up the registry quite a few times over the years, erunt is priceless, its happy in my ancient xp pro, i like a minimal o.s.

Good video...yeah, it's a good idea to backup the register while everything is running fine.
I saw a video of your's on using the program called UVK (ultra virus killer) and I also noticed that it had a registry backup tool in there. Is it ok to use that to back up the reg.?
I wasn't even aware of the windows one that does the same thing...keep up the video's man, I love them. They are very useful. xD

Use what ever tool you want, Tweaking Registry Backup is another good one www.tweaking.com/content/page/registry_backup.html
@Britec09.....Thanks for the link, i'll try that one.
When I run CCleaner I use it to remove old/outdated registry files as well, every time it offers to save the old file. I have backed up registry files from months and months ago and I run CCleaner once a week.
On Britec form their is a list of rescue cd's for virus and malware // on bitdefender rescue cd it is asking for a password ??? do u know any way around it thanks
What's the desktop background ?
what is the exact version of regback software used?
Can you copy the RegBack folder to external drive or to Documents folder and replace if a problem occurs? or does it have to be completed within the system properties or with third party software as demonstrated? If windows became unbootable you could probably copy the RegBack folder with a live Linux distro!.. nice informative video by the way!!
Yeah there is loads of ways to do it, Live CD is nice and easy.
can you make video. how to create registry backup and use in another corrupt pc
I like your new intro.

Erunt and Regbak
Hi Brian. To my own cost, I wish I had watched your regback videos earlier, as I sit at my desk with win 10 reinstalled 😕
Ideally, you should back up your registry on an external hard drive, correct?
Hey Brian, what would you if it constantly asks you to update your computer?
I made video yesterday to solve that.
Oh, okay, I'll look for it! Thanks!

So how do you even use a registry back up if you get a BSOD or can't even boot up?
I make a video next.
Thank you
hi ;3
awesome video brain, but seriously tho that intro(the pixely logo) makes you look so unprofessional
Yeah I know.
so why dont u make another one ?
Will do when I get time.
Just use a disk imaging program like i use acronis and do an image every sunday
never have enough backup and restore options.
But surely you can restore a registry back up by import from its saved location
That's what I was wondering.. why can't you just use regedit and import/export the registry? Anybody know?
