Fun fact... Firefighter gear is called "Turnout gear". I grew up in a family of police and firefighters. I always look forward to your videos Adam. Good stuff.
You're back in my old stomping grounds! Graduated from North Scott, across the river. Was fortunate enough to play with Louie Bellson in high school, in 1985. And my dad worked at the Davenport John Deere plant until he was 80. Lot's of great memories in the Quad Cities! Safe travels, Adam!!🤘🏼
Moliene is the birthplace of one of the best drummers of all time (and the inventor of the double bass drum setup)...Louie Bellson! Johnny Carson featured Louie Bellson on the Tonight Show many times...such an incredible drummer and nice man!!
Very random, but I liked it. We got to see a real day, filled with a fire drill, coffee failures, road work and storms, yet there was still beauty in the day. Enjoyed it!
My husband was invited by our local North Carolina John Deere dealer to tour this facility. It was in the winter and he said it was brutally cold. As a souvenir, he brought back some really small wooden Dutch shoes. He really enjoyed the tour. Glad there was no fire. We were evacuated from a hotel one night. I, as you, packed up all our possessions and took them outside. Eventually, they let us back in and I then put everything back into the hotel room furniture. No sooner had I finished, we had another alarm and had to evacuate again. It happened 3 times in one night. Very frustrating. Be safe. Enjoying your road trip. Thanks for taking us along 😊
As a family member of multiple relatives in emergency services, including my brother, who is a fire chief, I thank all volunteers and paid personal for their dangerous jobs. Thank you Daily Woo for continuing to entertain all of us on RUclips. It’s much appreciated.
Wowzers! First the evac and then the crazy winds! Moline rhymes with Jolene. I had a house mate who was born there. We lived in Venice, CA! Thank you for introducing us to the GIV! Love that guy! Love you, too! I can’t wait for you to go international! Provost Park Pass is doing that in Europe. Peter and Kitra did China. Then there are the cruises! Trackers on the Fantasy! I hope you can cruise with the Trackers and / or Ordinary Adventures! Can’t wait!! 🎉
This is where I live! It’s so cool seeing my area in one of your videos. Also, that abandoned movie theater you saw in East Moline used to be an adult movie theater years back but they were forced to close because the city didn’t want them there haha
Worked at a hometown theater and drive-in in high school. The theater was built prior to WW-1 with traveling Broadway groups, initially...then into a traditional film theater. Had the original neon lit sign over the patio area. Closed in the 90's for a new 6-Plex Theater. Building burned down in the early 2000s. Sad when I return to visit to see nothing but an empty lot.😕 And...the drive-in is gone, as well, turned into a wheat field. I suppose, progress is good, but it tends to eliminate history in its advancements. Keep Keepin On, Adam!👏
My town of 10,000 was evacuated over the weekend not far from there. Never ending rain and flooding in the midwest. Sux so bad. Leaving the second i save enough money. HATE THE MIDWEST
20:18 Louie Bellson! He was a drummer and played with all kinds of jazz and big bands. He Played with Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington & Benny Goodman to name a few. As far as I know, he is the first drummer to use two bass drums. He is pretty cool to us older drummers. Thanks so much for sharing Adam!!!
Huh? This is more of same boring stuff as per his new norm. At least we know you can make money by documenting the most mundane stuff. It's a good fall back plan.
Hey Adam! The hand prints in concrete on the wall, are of that of the legendary jazz drummer Louie Bellson.. an amazing man that played with all the greats of the jazz era, notably with the Duke Ellington Orchestra… Louie was the pioneer of double bass drumming that we commonly see today. Bellson recorded a drum solo called Skin Deep, considered one of the best solos ever played.. Louie also broke racial barriers in his time, in 1952 he married the great jazz singer Pearl Bailey.. they were married until her death in 1990… Bellson was born in the Moline area.. As a drummer myself, I got the opportunity to attend one of his drum clinics in OKC.. do a quick Google search and find a video of him on Carson… very nice man! Thanks for the vlogs!
@conniecrawford5231 you're comment made me laugh and think about my dad. He was in the military and said that when people are rescued from the ocean, they are referred to as Mae Wests if they are floating around with life jackets. So 2 people would be "2 Mae Wests in the water".
Hey Adan, I’m glad the hotel situation was ok and that the weather cleared up for you. It is great seeing the ghost signs - defo brings back memories of the past 😊 I hope your day back on the road today is going well so far xxx
Duuude... I live-in Rock Island, Illinois (Quad Cities)! If I had known you were here, I would have invited you to lunch or dinner. You were at one time in the video less than four blocks from my house. 😂
Sorry about how your day started, but you always make the best of any situation. Years ago my husband and I were staying at a Days Inn in Augusta, Georgia when a wild thunderstorm came up and lighting struck one of the rooms. We were evacuated and watched them put out the fire. Thankfully yours was not as serious. Enjoy your Rays game in Minnesota!
Whitey's Ice cream. That's one thing Moline has to offer. Visited my Aunt and Uncle there a couple years ago, and the black walnut ice cream at Whiteys is Ab Fab.
hi again Adam , another cool Vlog, looks like someone wanted content for their channel lol, amazing how quick the weather can change , this was interesting , well done and thank you 😊
Enjoy your upcoming visit to Target Field this week. I have to believe you'll be at one of the three games (Tues.-Thur.). I may be a long way from my home state of Minnesota, but I still follow the Twins and they host your Rays this week.
As person that did some storm chasing and work for my town with SKYWARN.... please pay attention to watches and especially warnings. Do not try to outdrive a tornadic storm...do not seek shelter under an overpass... find shelter or if you must get out and lie flat in a ditch away from your car. And if you ever see a tornado, and it looks like it is not moving, it means it is headed directly for you! STAY SAFE, ADAM!!!!!
Hey Adam great road and intersting road trip in Moline, Il..Mississippi River, vintage store signs, the Blue Brothers statues and more were very great ..Drive on and enjoy..
One of those days where you can’t predict what will happen. And No Coffee. You need to watch the movie Buffalo 66. Where the first 10 minutes is he can’t find a working restroom, just like you can’t find hot coffee. Natural crazyness like this video make it so entertaining.
Circa 21 that you went by is one of very few theaters where all the wait staff (known as bootleggers) have performing arts degrees. It's such a special place where you eat and enjoy live shows and if you're celebrating something special your song from the bootleggers is also beautiful and harmonized. Welcome to the QCA...would have loved to have ran into you while you were here! Really love your chanel!
Since you enjoy the out-of-the-way locations and maybe some little known historical spots, may I suggest a few things on the Iowa side that might interest you. In Long Grove you have Buffalo Bill's older brother's grave at the Long Grove Christian Church, then up the street is the old former Stockman's Bank which was the scene of a bank robbery in 1921 where the robbers were gunned down by vigilantes, (bullet holes still in the building). Head toward Scott County Park and you have the Pioneer Park and after that you have Buffalo Bill's childhood home down the road. Of course you have the famous American Pickers in LeClaire. Happy adventures and keep the awesome videos coming!
Duuuuuude, you're back up in my neck o the woods! 🥰 But we're now in Omaha for the College World Series and my 2nd offspring's baseball tournament. You'd LOVE the whole baseball vibe, baseball village and vendors. Hopefully you're headed out this way. 🤞❤️⚾️
Being evacuated was an exciting way to start your day. I'm glad nothing serious happened. I'm sorry you couldn't get any coffee. You could get a French Press coffee maker and bring your coffee with to make when you travel.
Now we know who the guy is clogging up emergency stairways with luggage lmao. I bet you would do the same in a plane emergency as well. But at least you have your stuff right. Jeez Adam. Besides that, great content man!
Adam, you are in your element when road tripping! You are especially good at these road trips through small town America, traveling along these back roads! Love this content!
Great video Adam! We were looking at a house in that neighborhood in Rock Island and it was like a set from a zombie apocalypse movie, all it needed was a few cars flipped over and on fore and they could film an episode of The Walking Dead. We did not buy.
You probably felt at home with the heat index there! Funny thing, my daughter and family were there same day and your trip to Milwaukee, my grandsons were there to see the game same day you were there. . You and my family keep crossing paths!
Good evening Adam, must of been a fire 🔥🚒 thanks for sharing this 😮 it's good you got ur stuff and left the hotel. Stay safe my friend. I have the movie blues brothers on dvd got it for a dollar it was brand new sealed.
You should drive 800 miles on Sunday and visit the towns on Saturday or Monday when things are open. Sorry about a day with hotel fire, no breakfast. Storm and no coffee. Hope next days are better
I grew up and lived in large cities(San Antonio, Houston, Austin) and was used to things being open all the time. When I visit the small towns where my parents are from in Pennsylvania I'm surprised when things aren't open. My aunt looks at me like "Well, duh!"
In moline across the street from the candy and ice cream shop is analogy they have retro video games there. Fun time playing the old pinball and games from our youth.
These are my favorite Adam videos, just showing us the everyday places we would never think to visit.
Fun fact... Firefighter gear is called "Turnout gear". I grew up in a family of police and firefighters. I always look forward to your videos Adam. Good stuff.
Also “bunker gear”

Nice! Bettendorf, 85!
My whole family is from Clinton, iowa just up the river! My sister lives in Davenport!
Hi Adam. That dome is for storing salt for the roads in the winter. It’s not dirt just an FYI from a Midwestern gal.
I like that view from the hotel over the river, especially in the rain.
Moliene is the birthplace of one of the best drummers of all time (and the inventor of the double bass drum setup)...Louie Bellson! Johnny Carson featured Louie Bellson on the Tonight Show many times...such an incredible drummer and nice man!!
Oh no kidding ? Very cool and thanks for the info
@@TheDailyWoo Indeed. You're welcome, Sir! :)
God bless that drummer! He must have given Neal Peart the idea for the double base drums
@@jevs1964 Neal loved Louie's playing!
@@TheDailyWoo Those were Louie's hand prints in Rock Island that you showed in your video.
Very random, but I liked it. We got to see a real day, filled with a fire drill, coffee failures, road work and storms, yet there was still beauty in the day. Enjoyed it!
With a hat tip to Vacation … ya know it’s going to be a good video. Well done, Adam.

Hey NC that's where I am from. What a crazy thing to happen
As a family member of multiple relatives in emergency services, including my brother, who is a fire chief, I thank all volunteers and paid personal for their dangerous jobs. Thank you Daily Woo for continuing to entertain all of us on RUclips. It’s much appreciated.
Love ❤the random wanderings in East Moline, Rock Island and Moline, Illinois. VERY NICE 👍 indeed.
I live in Moline Il watch you all the time
Adam your "Hitchcock" moment had me laughing so hard I accidentally woke up my dog. 🤣

Thinking of drive in there's one in Maquoketa iowa not to far from where your staying. However get there early on a weekend.
“The mighty Mississippi! The Old Man… Moon river….”

Doesn't Clark griswald sing deep river in national lampoon's vacation while crossing the mississipi
Adam really enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking us along with you.

Louie Bellson wife, the great Pearl Bailey !!! Saw her in Hello Dolly . Fabulous !!!
I liked how they repurposed the old parking meters. These are cool small towns... stay safe!!
Great video Adam. Love these videos of your travels!
Those spheres hold the salt for the roads on winter
When there are two salt spheres next to each other, commercial drivers refer to them as “Dolly Partons”! Lol
@conniecrawford5231 you're comment made me laugh and think about my dad. He was in the military and said that when people are rescued from the ocean, they are referred to as Mae Wests if they are floating around with life jackets. So 2 people would be "2 Mae Wests in the water".

Love from Davenport Iowa welcome back to the QC my dude enjoy the heatwave 😆

what you're not supposed to do is start grabbing your personal items in a evacuation. You just leave!
Great view of the river ! Glad everything ended up okay at the hotel. I love the Blues Brothers at Universal....they are awesome!!
Loved the video!
❤
🔥🚨 Coming in hot today! Glad it wasn’t anything too wild.
Welcome to Illinois. Enjoy your trip
Very good, more like this please.
Wow! That sucks. Moline is where my husband was born. Sorry you had to go through that
hi again Adam , another cool Vlog, looks like someone wanted content for their channel lol, amazing how quick the weather can change , this was interesting , well done and thank you 😊
Who knew it would be so hard to get a cup of coffee? Not a Starbucks in sight!
Oh no 🤦🏻♀️ great start at least nothing serious 😊
So sad seeing so much of these towns boarded up. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
I love the Blues Brothers! I also like those statues. Not typical.
The sky was angry that day, my friend.
“Like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli…” Wait, wrong reference.

Well glad your okay good video hope you had a good fathers day as well
I'm from around there in the Midwest. That dome building is a salt and sand tepple it is where they store salt and sand for the winter
Louie Bellson - handprints on the wall. He was a jazz drumer born in RockFalls in 1924
Glad that nothing bad happened, like the building catching on fire or anything like that. Stay safe bro! 🙏🏻💪🏼🤟🏻
Well hi Adam, i must say this was certainly quite a variety in the video today.Stay safe my freind, from Universal Jamie.
Liking and commenting for that sweet sweet Christmas Vacation quote.
That teal building looked like a painting, from a certain angle it looked like a 3 dimensional painting 🖼 🌴🌺
Day without coffee. Oh no. Will probably need a gargantuan cup tomorrow. 😁
these are my favorite adam the woo videos. the going into small towns and historic or movie places.
that QC coffee and pancake house ive been to a few times. they have great food, especially their cinnamon roll pancakes 😋
5:49 Adam I laughed out loud, glad the Woo is safe 🔥

@5:59 I definitely laughed out loud... all the "nope".
The banjo "thought" 😆
I wish I would have known you're in the Quad Cities. I live in the area and would enjoying meeting you in person.

What wow glad you are okay adam
Fire alarms going off at 1am reminds me of my first year in a college dorm.
it would always seem to happen during finals week
5:15 how did we not get a Jaws comment on this? 😂
In the midwest when it's calm & the wind starts to pick up out of nowhere That means the storm is coming and Soon. "The calm before the storm"
Duuuuuude, you're back up in my neck o the woods! 🥰 But we're now in Omaha for the College World Series and my 2nd offspring's baseball tournament. You'd LOVE the whole baseball vibe, baseball village and vendors. Hopefully you're headed out this way. 🤞❤️⚾️

oh crap Adam hope you're getting a better place
This happened to us when we stayed at the Grand California. Fire alarms at 7am. That was fun
Have you ever noticed that fire alarms are similar to a battery failure on your smoke alarm? Never at reasonable hours!😅
Now we know who the guy is clogging up emergency stairways with luggage lmao. I bet you would do the same in a plane emergency as well. But at least you have your stuff right. Jeez Adam. Besides that, great content man!
Microwave popcorn incident? All those numbers can be confusing for some. LOL!
Adam, you are in your element when road tripping! You are especially good at these road trips through small town America, traveling along these back roads! Love this content!
I was on the island when the storm hit riding my bike. Was a little crazy for a bit.
Keep safe Sir. The Woo!!
It was a hard day for finding a piping hot beverage for sure.
Adam out here dodging severe weather to get at them Ghost Signs! Nice!
Pretty much
Great video Adam! We were looking at a house in that neighborhood in Rock Island and it was like a set from a zombie apocalypse movie, all it needed was a few cars flipped over and on fore and they could film an episode of The Walking Dead. We did not buy.
I was in my hometown in Fairfield,IL yesterday and our favorite resturant burnt! Very sad day for Fairfield. Glad you were ok though…
I used to live close to the QC and now am about 2 hours south of there in Lincoln! Come visit us for some history!
You probably felt at home with the heat index there! Funny thing, my daughter and family were there same day and your trip to Milwaukee, my grandsons were there to see the game same day you were there. . You and my family keep crossing paths!
Adam ❤ you look so handsome, getting slimmer! dont need to loose anymore. Keep safe on road trip.
Good evening Adam, must of been a fire 🔥🚒 thanks for sharing this 😮 it's good you got ur stuff and left the hotel. Stay safe my friend. I have the movie blues brothers on dvd got it for a dollar it was brand new sealed.
Hey Woo! When your by the ocean look for fresh/alive fish markets. I find those interesting.
Adammmmmmm been a big fan for so many years and now you are in my home town? Wish I could have ran into you, would love to meet you.
Wow. I live in Davenport and yes that wind came out of nowhere..

Fire resistant Woo! Thanks for braving all of the dangers for our entertainment!
Ahhhhh now I know why the late Daily Woo today…. Not much sleep. 😴 😮, glad you’re safe though.
Rude awakening for sure. The dome looking shed houses road salt for winter. So many coffee teasers on that stormy day… dang!
