I climbed Jacobs Ladder in 1964 when I was 14 on my Dawes ‘Realm Rider’. In those days the track was in a terrible state and I had to carry the bike for much of the climb. The best part of the ride down into Hayfield - and the 20 mile cycle home.

I climbed (ahem walked up) Jacob’s Ladder in the mid 90s on a Ti hard tail. The day I did it, it was blowing a tempest up top.
