I'm just. You know, I can't, I'm more like a dude whos super excited when I manage to remap buttons on my wheel... This is some black belt DIY stuff!
Right!!! He handy as SHIT LOL

huh? the only person who can’t do shit is you. (besides making sandwiches)
@Dragos Frintura, its 2019 nearly 2020 n he is still there
lol do you go on wood working channels and go "this guy can cut wood in STRAIGHT lines"
Excellent project. I have been wanting to make an f1 wheel.
Some off your project has inspired me to make my own.
Thanks Mate.
What an AMAZING job. Congrats and keep doing videos!!
I think it would be easier for people if it was a complete kit. With display, buttons etc..
YES finally :D
Hey Amstudio i have a question ist it possible to sell like These 3d printed parts for them they cant afford a 3d printer :)
Best regrates from germany
Why are you playing a GT4 game with a F1 steering wheel bud? Anyway I built this wheel and it works great so thanks!
Does it works on ps4?
what type of suede did you use for the for the grips?
@amstudio does it work with the PS4?
The screen works on Xbox?

can you make a vid on how to make a steering wheel hub

These projects amaze me more and more each time, I have only been able to make the handbrake you designed myself but still think the videos are awesome!!
Thanks Stephen!
@@amstudioprojects can I ask where was the detail on how you wired the screen
when you put the back plate on it doesnt look connected to anything. I'm stuck at this part. do I need 2 usb leads coming out one gojng to to the screen to power and display and the 2nd one for the buttons and shifters?
@@amstudioprojects at 2:07 I cant see how I need to wire the screen so theres only one usb lead coming from the wheel (that's if it's designed to only have one usb lead)?
amstudio ow I see lol you wired the screen to the board I got it but is there a video you can link me where you show how to wire the screen to board
@@Simlife101 Guy left the chat
Hello! Thanks for your works! How to conect the arduino and the screen module? Two usb wires? You miss this part at vídeo. Thanks for all!
La mas importante diría yo
HAHA I KNEW THIS VIDEO WOULD COME EVENTUALLY.
Executed perfectly mate, top job
cool your project, but you did not show how you adapted in fanatec, you did not show the wires coming out of the steering wheel and that will probably mess up when it comes to playing and also when the steering wheel does the calibration, did you use a quick release?
I liked the video but I still have a lot of information
Probably used a quick realease, but the wires come from the board inside the wheel where he soldered everything in, he just passed a usb through and used some programs that can be easily google ( that i dont know off) to map them
Do you use 2 USB, one for the lcd and one for the arduino? If not, how do you connect the USB to TTL module with the arduino?
this.
I would like to know the answer to that question as well
I almost have my steering wheel project completed and I got it working with only one USB connected to the steering wheel, I used a USB HUB inside the steering wheel.
@@javiermj9010 can you tell me how to do this? Do you have Instagram or reddit?
hey bro, do u have ino file for andruino ?
Kimi now has his steering wheel
ay steering wheel someone tell to give it to me come on move!
Fanatec has left the chat
2:07 beyond triggered you didn't build a stand off for the promicro and it's just dangling amongst the rats nest haha
Can you make one with clutch paddles too
Hey! I wanted to ask if I could use a usb joystick encoder for the buttons and something else for the display separately and connect both the wires to the pc, would it work?
Hi, great job!!!😱🥶
Do this works with ps4??
This is a great project, but like everyone else, I want to kno how it is connected and works with your fanatec wheel base.
How did you get the metal plate? There is a 1:1 formula rim template?
i need to know too. :D metal plate and 3D printed parts are not mentioned in the part list in the description. im guessing he designed and printed 3D parts himself. And that metal plate.. I know you can find companies that will laser cut you any shape but it will be nice to have same source as him.
Buy a sheet of aluminum and trace the outline of it. Then use a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade
Sure
Moisés Tovar lol easy
Mate I'll definitely toss you some money over at Patreon , you inspired me to buy a 3D Printer and start doing more DIY. By now you must have saved me over 300 $ by making my own 3d sim-racing hardware. Seems like this will be the next project.
I am wondering though, do you run the display and buttons off the same Arduino? If so how does it interface with the Simhub software in real time while also being a button emulator?
And lastly, I noticed the kit doesn't include any micro-switches for the paddles, are these microswitches they use the same ones you used in your paddle shifter video?
Cheers.
Awesome mate, glad the content has been useful and inspired your creativity!
im not sure you can 3d print with materials that are sufficiently mechanically resistent to handle the forces of the force feedback motor, or you will need to lower those forces. Also great content amstudio, kudos. i'm wondering how did you attach the wheel to the quick release mount, and where did you get one
No , wasnt implying you could 3d print this, I just got a printer based on amstudio's video's. You could probably 3d print it for weaker wheelbases like TMX/ T150 and G25/G27/G29. T300 maybe ,but if you run TS-PC or CSW or OSW etc definitely not.
As for QR, there is a Fanatec to 70mm adapter on Thingyverse. I assume one can use that flipped, so the 70mm part on the wheel, fanatec on the base.
i undestand what you meant by the 3d printed part. there are also t300 adapters for standard aftermarket wheels, and ssome of them are 3d printers
I am wondering about the same thing. I bought the Wheel today and since then im thinking about how to wire all things up. Do you already have a Solution?
I made a simmilar one for my lawn mower engine go kart
Cool
Can you make a vid about it?
Which sketch did you use for Arduino? The one used for the button box?
OMG dude, im crying. So he built a pretty cool formula steering wheel... To drive GT cars. 😐
Gt Car pretty much have the same wheel
GT wheels are pretty much the same
Look at the Fanatic McLaren GT wheel
What does it look like also
How do you wire the screen and the buttons so they’re a only 1 cord going to the computer?
Dude, I would like to make a wheel like this. How can I get the complete project with all the necessary information?
Its a 3d rap kit.
Okay, then it will be time to build a sim again
RUclips crashes my banking account ..... ....... ``Great channel´´ ....
Another great project. I'll be building an F1 wheel that I designed myself very soon, and luckily I now know how to wrap the handles in suede. Thanks for the great videos mate!
Its super cool, but its not affordable for everyone diy...
From the video it looks that only one usb cable comes from inside the wheel, but inside there are 2 devices that need usb( the Promicro and the FT232RL USB to TTL module) how didi you managed that ? you puted a passive hub inside?
Im building this
Hello. @@emersonmarques1174 I wounder the same thing. Where the USB to TTL module is connected???. at 2:06 when he close the back cover the USB to TTL module is still not connected. I wounder if he soldered it to the Pro Micro somewhere but we can't see. and apparently he doesn't reply to comments...
Very good job men, you make a lot of nice things for sim racing, i realy like your channer ist very useful for me.. continue bro good job
Thanks!
Can you make something for the Xbox ?
GLAZE Y TIZON RA This should work with the Xbox with Xbox compatable base
Does this display work with playstation 4? For F1 2020 for example?
hey i have a question is this wheel compatible with Logitech g920 to be added on. Thanks
Everything cool except soaking the suede in water. Rather just use steam to do it. This way it does not spoil the tan and not drain it out.
Better than perfection, your DIY are outstanding !
Thanks! Simhub really brings these projects to life!
Hi friends,1638 howti reverse display?thanks

@@amstudioprojects Which 3d printer do you use though for all of these sim videos. They are awesome!
Wtf.....i know what im spending my days on haha....i just need a 3d printer haha
Biggest issue i had with this kit was the grips, the shape was a major problem having hands like king kong made it very uncomfortable during long sessions. Needs more refining.
Do you think I can make this, while I haven't got any experience with these kind of projects? And do you now if you can also add this wheel on to a thrustmaster base? Thanks a lot
Can you please make a diy redbull f1 wheel (trying to make one myself)
Hey Fanatec, Logitech, Thrustmaster, you listening to this guy?
can u do a motion sim
Ivan Brown i dont think he will do that, im building a motion sim right now and i am already 1 and a half year into the building proces, it just takes too long and too many things go wrong just for making 1 video
Yeah but do you have a 3D printer? lol kidding :)
Colin Kramer Would be keen on knowing costs involved in making a motion sim setup.
Can you use that wheel on f1 2017 on PS4?
Do you also solder the LCD arunido to the buttons encoder as well? Or do you connect 2 USB cable?
Ok now all I need is the materials and a gaming setup
Thanks a lot, fantastic work. I'd love to have a custom Porsche 919 rim to be honest..
Lukas Wirtz Get the rim and attach it to the Fanatec Universal Hub
which rim though :P
great vid. tip for the handles. first use memory foam to the handles and then attach alcantara or suedine, it gives u more 'full' grip

Ah oke, Thank you.
love your setup. watching 2019.
Some of the items aren't avaible anymore... Would you like to update it? Plus, how do you make your screen working with the game? How do you connect the wheel and the wiring to the rest of it? Great video but I would like some more informations! Thanks!

Motion sim or bodyshakers could be very interested.
3d model to download?
Great vid!
One question, what did you mean with 'wheel kit'?
How do you mount this wheel on the Fanatec base? Do you need the universal hub for that?
How to u get the metal wheel cut out????
how to make buttons and display work simultaneously on one cable?
usb hub
It looks like an actual board in the SimHub review. Could someone post a link of such board? I’m having no luck finding on other that cords and such.
@@brandonstokes763 did you ever figure this out by chance?
Joe Church negative. No responses from anyone. If you find anything out please let me know.
Hello. We can't see the nano V3.0 in your steering wheel. We can see the Pro Micro and the FTDI USB to TTL Serial Adapter Module so was the nano optional? Also at 2:06 when you close the back cover we can see that there is nothing connected to the USB to TTL module. Have you solder it directly at the Pro Micro and is so, what pin have you used? Thanks
ring ring ring ring. Uhm yeah Amstudio Speaking. I'd Like to order 16000 Feet of carbon vinyl wrap. uhm yes thank you.
Can you make a new Video about the nextion Displays, because in the new simhub setup isn't a nextion folder
Im a spanish boy and anyone in Spain do this type of videos with this quality.
Can you make a video of doing pedals?
can you make a diy hub, wheel, foot pedals, handbrake all in one go, i kinda can't afford a wheel base
So how much is all of this?
im guessing same as the thrustmaster f1 rim. but this one will teach you and you can fully customize it
Can this be used as a F1 wheel as well
Please make a DIY H shifter connectable with the thrustmaster t300 Wheel
Hi !
Great job ! I'm trying to do the same thing, but I have one question :
How did you connect the red card with the blue Arduino card ? (Or are there 2 USB cables connected to your PC ?)
Thanks !
The Red Card is for the Nextion display, which won't be connected to the Arduino. So yes, it should be 2 Cables to the PC
Looks so easy in the video but I know I wouldnt stand a chance of getting this right :)
Great job! How can I get those 3d files and the frame template?
in the description
do you sell these babies?wondering if you could build one of these and I'd buy it. (logitech g27 base)
Im planning to build a box out of mdf and carbonfoil front, with a slide-in tablet as second infodisplay. under the tablet i'll attach a missilestyle on/off power switch with red an green led lamps next to it, to indicate if the wheel has power or not.
...And then i see this video and suddenly feels like a 6 yearold trying to build a fancy castle with two chairs and a blanket. Great video !!!!
great video i subscribed. i was always struggling to get a wheel for economical reasons and this made my day thank you
i like your vids ! big like from me !
Nice Vid! i'm gonne build one myself. Does anyone know if the FFB works with a thrustmaster base when you attache a custom wheel like this?
Sure thing.
Is this wheel compatible with Thrustmaster T300RS GT?
Wish a had that talent for diy sooo beutifall how you made it nice job
Awesome work, but u forgot to mention that without the Fanatec Universal HUB (as of right now), Force Feedback wont work on the wheelbase, please keep that in mind guys.
Ahhh! I currently have their PS4 kit in my kart and said t0 myself, •but doesn’t the wheelbase have to detect the wheel!?!?” I’ve seen that podium wheel hub thing but it’s functionality never really clicked in my head until now. That’s pretty fucking awesome to see that Fanatec supports this! I wasn’t even planning on going the DIY route (apart from creating a custom cockpit) but if I had known more about this I provably would’ve *at least* considered creating my own wheel as well. Hhmmm....you know what, nah. I’ll stick with the official gear for now. I’ll wait till I have more throwaway money saved up before getting into the custom side of sim racing cause I can already see it spiraling down lol.

How are you able to program a shifter other than the original steering wheel setups' shifter in Assetto Corsa? @amstudio
The thrustmaster and fanatec shifters also come with USB cables so you can plug them directly into your computer. The Logitech shifter can only be plugged in the wheel. With the ones that have USB your computer will detect them as separate controllers and you just need to set the gears to the shifter positions in the settings of the game.
Can you drive with this steering wheel in a real GT/formula car assuming you build this as a personal project?
Do you know any way to attach this rig to a Logitech wheel?
Just saw it on the website.
