I have had mine for 1 1/2 years now. Love everything about it. The colors are what I like. My photos look like film. Was looking at X-Pro 2 but I don't need one. Save the money & take a nice week long trip.

X-Pro1/2 and Leica m9/m240 are the golden oldies. All four cameras are forever bodies that still work just perfect. (As long as your M9 has sensor replaced back in the day lol)
agreed! i have been on the hunt for a m8/m9 for years! that would be a mean setup to have all those, at this point i would still take m9 with dead pixels lol

Used the Xpro1 since it’s in introduction, came with a 18mm f2 and a35mm f1.4. The lenses now live with my Xpro2 along with some current glass but I still have a soft spot for the Xpro1 and it sees occasional duty but mostly as a digital pinhole camera. Thanks for the walk down memory lane, the camera has been on many motorcycle adventures and its held up brilliantly. Hopefully Fuji will come out with a Xpro4, but if they don’t, I’m ok with that as these are more than enough for me.
thats awesome man , the x pro would be a perfect camera for motorcycle adventures, small and compact. I've talked to a lot of X-pro1 owners and we all seem to have a soft spot for the X-pro1 even after getting the 2 or 3. I have been exclusively using xpro1 in the last few years. My wife gifted me a Sony A7 years ago which is an awesome full frame that can also fit many old glasses but there's something about the fuji xpro 1 shooting experience that I always gravitate to it every time.
@@alexbemanian actually gave an x100 to matt jacobs and he gave it back and i sent him my xe1 and my xt1. Check him out. He reviewed it . He took great shots with it. I dyin for my xe1 back. Love the xtrans original but not xtrans ii in the xt1

100% agree! I owned an X100 years ago when I first started learning about photography and I adored that camera. I added an XE1 to complement it, which I shot exclusively with adapted vintage lenses and that really made me fall in love with Fuji. Both of those sensors have. certain magic. I ended up selling the X00 to upgrade to the X100T and even though it was a better camera in just about every way, it had lost the magic for me with the updated sensor and I ended up selling it. I sold the XE1 when I upgraded to a Sony A7 and after a few years with that I yearned for a Fuji again, as it just didn't have the same mojo. The XT-3 had gotten rave reviews and so I sold the Sony and invested in one.......and I have never really bonded with it. It's a capable camera but the images are just a bit sterile to me. I bought a used X100 again and immediately remembered why I loved it so much originally......it is such a special little camera! So here I am today....watching videos of the X-Pro1 and contemplating selling my XT-3 to buy one so that I can reclaim some more of that old Fuji magic....

Thank you ! It was a variety of recipes, I did use the Kodachrome recipe from FujiXWeekly for a few shots. I also like the Astia film simulation built in, and the rest were post processed with a preset I made to emulate Kodachrome.

really helpful video. i've been considering an Xpro1 for awhile now. i shoot on 35mm film 99% of the time and think this may make a nice transition into digital. beautiful photos!

And if so how did you edit them and did you always use the pro mist filter? Big up from me, keep it coming!! 👏🏻 (And how would you compare it to the XE1 if you also had the opportunity to shoot it?)
Hey man I really appreciate the kind words , thank you! There were some sooc but most were edited raws. I generally start with the astia color profile in Lightroom and edit from there, at least for these photos. I try to use a preset I created for all the photos so they have a similar vibe. Yes the filter has always stayed on my lens, it’s a 1/8th. I’ve always wanted to pick up an xe camera but I haven’t been able to, my understanding is you can get the exact same image quality with the xe1 as the x pro1 since it’s the same sensor. I think the main difference is just the body style and EVF, the x pro has an optical viewfinder as well which is nice to use that the xe does not have. Hope this helps
@@alexbemanian thank you for your detailed answer. and yes after all the research I done I came to the same conclusion except one point : some resources say that the xpro1 doesn't have a low pass filter which improves the amount of detail that can be produced by the camera. But other resources say XE1 AND XPro1 both don't have the filter. I'm pretty sure the XM1 has a bit different Image quality because it has a different processor than the other two, but XE1 and Xpro1 should be the same except for this one thing but I really can't be sure if it's just the Xpro1 without the filter or the XE1 too. Mabe you got some information about that?
Back in 2020 I wanted a compact aps-c camera so I was stuck between the X100S and Ricoh GRII I'm pretty happy I ended up with the fuji especially with the absurd prices they go for now. I feel like the best part of it is the film sims. Instead of coming home and getting stuck on how I want to edit the RAWs I just pick a preset like I would pick a roll of film and don't have to decide on the look later.
I had a similar experience with the x100f before the prices went crazy, i would love to try a Ricoh GR, the compact size looks nice. I agree , the film simulations are really great, you can spend more time shooting and less editing. I just wish the x pro 1 had classic chrome built in
@@alexbemanian Classic chrome would have been nice but tweaking the velvia sim does well enough for me. As for the Ricoh GR I've kind of lost interest in them due to the lack of a viewfinder and not being that versatile. I have the TCL-X100 and WCL-X70 for my X100S so it is kind of my go to for digital street shooting now. If I had to suggest a new camera today though I think I'd pick the Lumix GX85. They're still somewhat affordable and have a viewfinder along with a ton of reasonably priced lenses.
I like the velvia sim too, always been a fan of shooting velvia on 120, cant beat those vidid colors. X100s sounds like the perfect street shooter. Thanks for the tip on the Lumix, looks like a sleek little camera.
Hey, yes it’s a great camera! Download the Fuji x weekly app on your phone and find the film recipe you want to use. Then go to your camera, in the shooting menu choose the correct film simulation and input the recipe manually. the app isn’t actually on your camera , you just use it to get the recipes to insert into your camera. I considered getting the 1.4 and I'm sure the image quality is better.. but I went with the f2 because it was much cheaper, smaller, lightweight, and faster AF.
@@alexbemanian yea I used to have the f2 when I shot fuji. First lens I bought. The problem I found later was the IQ from those newer lenses is very “digital” looking because there’s a lot of correction happening in camera. Whereas their older lenses look more classic. Good thing they still make it.
@@mishafrolovdesign will pair nicely to any Fuji camera. Doesn’t matter which one. For me it would pair nicer with the modern Fujis since the AF in those cameras is better and faster.

Hi David, these photos were shot in raw and i used the Camera ASTIA/Soft film profile in lightroom for all three. Then I made some minor adjustments to the white balance, exposure, contrast, highlights, and shadows. The photos usually don't need much editing, mostly just balancing the exposure. Great video! I’m in fact considering an XPro 1 to compliment an XT 3 model. I keep hearing that the sensor results from the XPro first generation is unlike any following models. Is that true? In terms of film like color science?
Thank you! I can say for sure the results from the X Pro 1 sensor are really impressive but its the only digital fujifilm camera I've used other than the GFX 50r. So I'm not quite sure how it stacks up with the later x trans sensors. But i do really enjoy the images and colors that come out of the X Pro 1
The gfx 50r was my favorite digital camera for photography I’ve ever used. I wish I still had it, I had to sell it because I needed a hybrid camera that could shoot video too. If I could have one camera just for photos, it would be the 50r
I’ve never used the x70 but it will depend on what style camera you want. X70 is more compact point and shoot style with a fixed lens. X pro 1 can use different lenses and has a real viewfinder. If you want a camera that’s fits in your pocket x70 is probably perfect for that, if want to use different lenses the x pro 1 wins.

there is way too many options to say, but if you like Fujifilm cameras and want to use the film simulations to emulate the film look, i would consider the Fujifilm Xt-2, Xt-3, XE-2, and XE-3. And one of the fujifilm f2 lenses like the 23mm, 35mm, or 50mm. Fuji has tons more cameras options as well just depends on what your looking for@@Photographybyhelena

Thank you , yes i did edit some of the photos but some are just the Fuji film simulations. I will do a video in the future on editing photos .

I would’ve chosen the old 35f1.4.

2:31 I haven't got an X-Pro 1 but on my X-T1 which is a slightly newer camera you can select white, red or blue.
I wish there was the option for different color focus peaking on the x pro 1, red would be so much easier to see! But it only has white

The gfx 50r was my favorite digital camera for photography I’ve ever used. I wish I still had it, I had to sell it because I needed a hybrid camera that could shoot video too. If I could have one camera just for photos, it would be the 50r

I have the xp1 and had the xp2 and 3. The xp1 is better in regards to auto wb. Xpro2 and 3 have very cold auto wb
Yes I have heard the same thing, I was so surprised how good the auto wb is. I really want to try the x pro 3 for faster AF
