- This footage may have saved the trip! If only we had smaller live bait or used a Yo-yo jig!!!!!! This was day 2 and 3 in Mag Bay. Actually more like day 3 and 4 because on the second day a hurricane passed through and we had to stay inside. The next video in this series will reveal whether or not we pull can take advantage of this underwater footage!

Thanks for helping me reach 1,000,000 subscribers!! That's just an insane number of people who have watched the videos over the years. Biggest thank you!!!!
ruclips.net/video/Y83cjKK49Tg/видео.html this was day one of this year's Mag Bay trip if you missed it. Next and final episode coming out on Friday!
We’ll never know what that one fish was..... 👀 😂
It was a puffer fish u were seeing not a grouper
Hi Matt’s, are you still selling crab snares? I couldn’t find them on the website
gg hitting 1 mil. watched this channel grow so much, even got my grandfather watching after you fished in our stomping grounds ;)
You should do a merch pop up at Gus’s
5:25 "Let's see what the water temperature is"
'puts hand in water'
"it's 73 degrees"
doesn't tell us he looked at the thermometer lol
Looked like a puffer to me, mate!
I was thinking the same thing
100% agree
Same
Im not your buddy, pal.
I’m not your guy, friend.
Dude let’s film a bunch of fish underwater together. All about the underwater action 🎣 🔥
YES!! My two favorite fishing channels unite!
Good idea.👍
Sounds goioooid to me lol
yesssss!!!
Going to be the same footage if we fish together
“What’s the water temp” (puts hand in water) “oh yeah it’s 73 degrees” 😂
Lol 😂 happened to look at the fish finder at the same time
Lol 😂
Salinity is a nice 1.024... hahah
"The weather channels hate this man...see how he did it with one simple tip!"
He is sometimes so funny without trying lol
“Let’s see what the water temperature is”
*touches water*
*brain calculating 3+4.2#%
Grats on 1 million my brotha. Been with you which feels like forever. Missing them fish tacos and catch and cooks. Need that 🧈
Fr Fr
Smallest MILLION SUB mention ever. Congrats Fisherman’s Life
when does he mention it?
Hajong Lee the very last part 😂 alright guys, thanks for the million subscribers, see y’all next time 😂😂😂 others would be freaking out and he’s all calm, probably because of how many tunas there are and not one hook up
@@92sadventure71 oh yeah haha right at the very end. that's hilarious. i missed it the first time. mad respect for fisherman's life. congratulations on the 1M subs.
Speaking from my experiences fishing after Hurricanes in FL, the bite can be quite good. But it takes a couple days for the sea to settle down. The resort you picked looks awesome, the bigger boats saved you that first day.
I love how my man had the perfect opportunity to have a clickbait title but didn't. I love this channel.
He’s got the bait
Exactly
I say what a waste. What fisherman wouldn't use bait
What?! That's the click bait-iest title I've ever seen! Wow, yellowtail in baja California you say?! That isn't that shocking. They are as thick as thieves up and down the peninsula. "Had NO IDEA they were here!!" Forget about the 50 pound yellowtail that the dudes caught and filmed the day before...lame title. Your channel.is cool without the BS clickbait.
No life jacket bruh?
I’m pretty sure those mystery fish at 9:00 are porcupine puffers. Really common in the tropics. Awesome video as always! Keep up the good work!Wishing you safe travels and bent rods! 🤙🎣
Yup pretty sure its a porcupine fish. Spiney puffer fish .
We gotta fish again soon 🤩
Mav 😹🤖👾💩👻💀
I'm From Baja California
So glad that you are fishing great fish here in our country!
Dude you are providing a service to everyone who watches your vids. They are informative and therapeutic ! Keep up the strong work and a huge congrats on your deserving success!
I try to keep up with your latest videos, but sometimes a rare gem comes along that I haven't seen before. Oh how do I love when this happens!
Best fishing channel around. Congratulations Matt on 1M
Last time I was this early RUclips wasn't censoring anyone
That sounds racist bud I think you need some censoring
@@ichista your username sounds sexist lol
who does youtube censor exactly? other than alex jones? the algorithm always changes and puts people on and off the recommended
@@Dockhead although they don't necessarily "censor" anyone they do ban people for stupid things.
@@elchuzalongo4339 no you was right if you don't fit the current narrative RUclips will strike your video
Awesome footage !! Congratulations on the 1M, you deserve it , WE Love your channel 🎣 👍
Living the good life brother. Im so happy for you and your family! You are truly blessed. Tight lines!
Here in South Africa we catch Yellowtail on strips of squid, maybe try that too.
Congrats on a MILLION! Your videos always make me smile
those 2 fish you saw were what i believe to be porcupine puffers. very cool to see. i hope you are enjoying your trip!!!!!
Four minutes in and im already in awe with the cinematography 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Congratulations on your million subscribers you deserve it. Keep it coming we all love you and your videos. Thank you.
10:03 be careful with that sculpin please!! They’re significantly more dangerous than normal rockfish because of their secreted venom. I’d cut off the spines before even landing them and I’d sure as hell wouldn’t handle them like that! Their flesh is also pretty bloody no matter how quick/thoroughly I bleed them, really no point in going through the trouble to keep them.
Dude sculpin are really good eating, really good white meat, that's why the sport boats fish them so much in the summer when the surface fishing sucks. The venom sucks but it's not bad, kind of like a stingray, you just soak the puncture in hot water and your fine in an hour.
But that wasnt the best way to hold them
They very in toxicity from area to area, SoCal don’t bother me for the most part unless you get it deep, caught one on the East Cape that blew my hand up like a balloon and it hurt!!! They are tasty, cut the fins off and cook whole for best flavor
@@bigeyetuna6228 haha oh damn
That fish isn't a sculpin its a scorpionfish, venom is much worse than a sculpin.
Congratulations on 1M subscribers bro! I remembered when I stumbled onto your channel looking for fishing tips. Got hooked right away. I think you had only 67k subs 4 years ago. Again Congratulations and you deserved it!
I wish I had Andrew and Matt's friendship, but my buddy doesn't like fishing lol. Great video as always! Your videos are usually the reasons why I'm late for work. Congrats on the 1 mil subscribers, well deserved!
Great vid it would be cool if u went rockfishing on ur boat with Jun he could catch his first ling
We have a lot of yellowtail in New Zealand - if they are not taking livebaits we use mechanical jigging with 300 - 400g jig size - very effective
These guys walking around barefooted in the boat where lures a re laying all over the place xD
Loving the frequent uploads!!!! Congratulations on 1 Mil Btw! Been here since 2016!
your videos are freaking amazing. Love those aerial drone shots!
Love to see how far you’ve come and will go. Hope to see some catch and cooks later on. P.S Don’t forget the butter 🧈
Man I haven't been out all year so living through your vids.
Pretty sure that “sculpin type” fish was some sort of scorpion fish, very venomous.
Just looked it up, that was 100% a California scorpionfish, Scorpaena guttata. Venomous
When I saw him hold that scorpion fish up I was saying put that back ASAP
Looked fun, that weird fish was definitely a puffer a.k.a. Ba- Ba- Loon!🐡 Those yellow tails were huge, the fillets must have been so good.
That crazy 50 lb yellow tail laugh @1:29...hahaa!
9:07 those are puffer fish. That's why they're slow moving, super wide, and dont care about your jig. The one freeze frame you can really tell it's a puffer, just looks weird cuz of the greenish hue of the footage.
Thanks for the videos, I've never been fishing but now I want to go ever since becoming a subscriber and watching your excitement and mouth watering meals. Hope to give it a try one day. Good luck out there!
Yea man good for you and good to know where you're fishing good luck and welcome to my country
Love the vid!! Next time you catch a Bonita down there filet a side and drop it down to the bottom on some structure!! Giant grouper or rockfish/lingcod. Other side is great for sashimi too
Yessss!!! Love all your underwater fishing stuff!!!!
This camera man is one of the best I’ve ever seen on RUclips
The peddling will be good for the Achilles too. Would be great to see Adam & Jun there along with you- los 3 amigos
Those wide fish you spotted were puffer fish. Im definitely planning a trip to Mag Bay soon
Never thought to throw an action camera on the line. Next time I go out I think I will; your footage was great.
Very Good Video 📹 👍. Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 🥳 👍 😀
Beautiful Fish!. Here in NZ We call them Yellow Tail KingFish or Kingi's for short.
2 👍👍 Up!......MATT and 🙏Thank you for another Great Video. I'm learning soo much more from ya. Looking forward to the next 😊 #staysafeyall from Savannah Georgia.
Holy shit you are pumping these out!! Let's fucking go Matt!!
Already know our boy is hooking a fat yellowtail in the next one!! Can't wait!
Bro you’re too modest and humble about your million subs and I think that’s the reason why I’ve been a sub all this time. All other you tubers are quick to flaunt the plaque and thank the subs you’re just like “thanks for the million subs.. bye” lol! Love it bro congrats!
Love that place !!!!! We gotta go some day and do some more video.
The morning part was so seriel. Beautiful.
9:00 Porcupine pufferfish for sure. Very cute fish.
10:00 Scorpionfish. More venomous than rockfish if you get poked by the fins, be careful.
Alright Andrew for catching a yellow tail ! Hope fully you will catch a big one on the next video ! Will stayed tune for your next video ! Thanks Matt !
I liked how you were so casual about that legal spottie lmaoo
Congratulations on the 1 million subscribers 👏 🙌 😀 ❤. That's so dope. I been here since 100k
HELL YEAUUHHHHH!!!
Congrats to you and Andrew! Whaaaat? You're getting a kayak?? Yeauuhh baby!!!
See ya Friday
Congratulations on the Million Subs !!! Very well done !
i been chasin salmon in the rivers in klamath trinity and feather and come home to 2 new fishermens life uploads!!! lets goooo!!
Incredible underwater footage! The frenzy at the end.
9:17 you're looking at the top of a porcupine puffer. I've kept them for a long time. Really cool fish.
Your channel legitimately makes me consider becoming a fisherman sometimes lol
Really glad you're back buddy.
8:57 thats a porcupinefish, related to pufferfish. Fish at 10:00 was a scorpionfish, related to sculpins, but even even more closely related to stonefish and rockfish, they have venemous spines on their dorsal fin like a stonefish. Not as deadly as stonefish, but it has been reported to be similar to a rattlesnake bite. Very lucky that you didn't get spined, you'd have to go to the ER for sure.
Yoyo or a flatfall would definitely get you bent. Tight lines!
1 million subs. Thats nuts. Your vids are real life man. Thank you.
Can you post more catch and cook miss the butter and avocado combo😂💪🏽
Congrats on da Milli Plaque my guy 👍🏽👊🏽💥👏🏽👏🏽
Hell yeah bro! 1 million!!!!! Huge fan! Thanks for the videos! Keep them coming!!!
That was a great trip! I hate not catching meat, but sometimes the best trips are just about the fishing. Keep it up!
that one looks like a puffer? cool stuff!
These days I can't afford to go down South but I did fish the sea of Cortez once in a while. The size and numbers of yellowtail was insane.
Then the Mexican Government allowed the Japanese Long Line Fleet to come in and fish it out. Took decades for them to come back. At that time I quit going down there.
Love the music and of course the fishing action
Def a puffer hands down. Nice vid as always!
lets see what the water temperature is. "sticks hand in the water" 73 degrees hahahah. what a legend
Next time you get live bait that’s on the bigger side cut it into strips. Like a large spoon size cut. We do this with bonito bellies in Florida and works great. Epic stuff
Congratulations on reaching over 1 million subscribers!!!!!~Precious
I think that fish you were asking about is a wobegong/monkfish, it's a cartilaginous fish kind of like sharks. Also I'm excited for that salmon shirt. Keep up the content man, i'd love to bump into you out in the bay sometime when I head out there again.
Tough fishing , I bet the hurricane that pass through days before did not help! Still enjoyed the vid! , Saw your patch behind the ear! I would have needed one of those also!
10:03 We call that a Sculpin here in SoCal.
Looked like a box puffer fish. 📦🐡
Awesome vid man! Congrats on the 1M! Nothing tastier that fresh yellowtail in my mind!
Ah man you've reached 1 million subscribers. Congrats! Love your channel.
Great video. I love to see these guys 'living the dream.'
Please do some more under water footage! Love it bro!
That fish you was talking about looked ki da like a scorpion fish!
The underwater cam is very appreciated
Congrats on the 1Mil. Been around since 100k 👍👍 Here's to the next mil 💯💯
I don’t know how I came across your 2 year old vids but you’re awesome man keep it up 🤙
One of your mil subs and happy to be here thx for making me love fishing again
Makes me wonder about the bigger situation. Nice boats are stored in garages and accommodations are in a compound-like structures.
Wow Interesting! i really enjoyed your video Thanks!!
That mystery fish had a lot of the same markings as that sculpin you caught. If it was a puffer like some of these guys commented, it was a huge one. Wasn’t that jig you were using 6”-8” long? That fish was almost 3-4 times as big as your lure. Great vid as always. Stay safe and God Bless. ..Joe in MS
I’ve been watching you for soooo long, you should fish with me and my friend sometime
Congrats on 1 mill subs
Best fishing Channel on RUclips.
Great video 📹
Congratulations on 1 million
Love ur channel u rock bro...those were not grouper..those wide fish are puffer fish..botete we call them in Baja 😎
