    Those hats are sooo pretty! That was sooo helpful Alison! Thank you for sharing your bead technique with us! I have never tried adding beads but always wanted to have a go. But wanted to see how others do it, first! I particularly found the info re size of beads & yarn weight helpful! So again - thank you! Can I be very cheeky (as a fellow Scots lady) and ask - what brand of yarn you were using? The 'Soft & shiny' yarn was just what I was looking for for a project and I can't find anything like that locally. I don't think my nearest Hobby Craft does that label (Dundee) though I can't see it clearly , I don't recognise what I can see of it. I know the purpose of your vids isn't about the pro's & con's of your yarn, but if you could tell me what it is so I could go on the hunt for it, I'd be SOOO grateful! Thanks so much Alison, for such a good and helpful tutorial! Best wishes.

      Hi Kate, thank you for the wonderful comments. The yarn is soft and shiny by loops and threads. I got the cream on the video plus a few other colours in America you can get it on line here. I only got one ball of each colour I seriously dont know why I only got 1 of each as it is beautiful.

      @@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Thank you so much for the quick response, Alison. (so sorry for my very late response back! Been very hectic here!) I'll have a look for that yarn - it really does look VERY pretty! I'm just finishing up a current project on my hook then I'm thinking of trying the beading on these bonnie wee bonnets! :) Thank you again for all the helpful info on beading & yarn. I really appreciate it. :) xx

    It is beautiful, I would love to try the beads, do you have the hat pattern?

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  5 лет назад +1

      Debbi, follow the loopy hat tutorial on my channel just don't do loops add the beads on the loopy rows. The back of the loopy bonnet is the same as the one in the beads tutorial.

    Thanks Allison that was very helpful. Love the hats. Where did you say we can get the pattern?

      joan, its the loopy hat without the loops, you will find it on my channel just follow the back of the loopy bonnet its the same one i used for the bead bonnet. the body of the bonnet is the same as the loopy tutorial just add a bead instead of making a loop. xxx

    Thanks so much. Been wondering how that was done. Would you be willing (or is there already one) to do a chart of some sort mating bead size with yarn weight ..... so 7-8mm beads with weight 4 worsted weight yarns (for example). I know it'll be a bit tough between UK and US terms/weights, but I wouldn't know which size beads would be best for certain yarns.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  5 лет назад

      Barbara, I just go with the thicker the yarn the bigger the bead. The small 6mm bead hole was just big enough to thread a basic 3ply the bigger 7.4mm beads are on a medium 4 yarn.

      if you do the back from this video I did. then do the body of the hat the way i did the bead video You should get a bonnet like this one. all of the baby hats/bonnets i have done once you do the flat back you can add any stitch to the body of your bonnets. ruclips.net/video/vcZkuVDKzTk/видео.html
